Here's the thing. I feel like people judge treatment centers for all the wrong reasons. You will not click with every therapist. You won't find your medication on the first try, I can almost guarantee you. But this is the only place I have ever found that: - Accepts my insurance - Has everything you need under one roof: therapists, psychiatrists, group therapy... - Is flexible with time Literally the best mental health facility I've ever been to. Now, they just want to be pill pushers. Therapy doesn't bring in the big bucks, so they decided to discontinue it suddenly. My therapist is scrambling to find a new position. First, without warning just before an appointment I was told by voicemail that my doctor is no longer with the practice. I had a 20 year history with this doctor. This happened some months ago. Today, I received a voicemail stating that my therapy session is cancelled because they no longer offer this service. My appointment is tomorrow. I find their callousness as uncaring. I went there for almost a decade and I'm in so much despair because I had to find another in which I do not trust whatsoever. The Mood Treatment Center was the best, I felt welcome there and I barely ever missed an appointment unless I was sick and that wasn't often. My Dr Christopher Aiken always treated me with respect & compassion and always understood me. When he left, I was very devastated. I met Morgan Kingrey & she was very bright and also caring. I've come to the conclusion that their really isn't another place that holds up to The wonderful "Mood Treatment Center" I'd do almost anything to be able to go back. I had one appointment with Neil's Group and they messed my last refill up. Basically told me that I'd get my refill on January 7th 2025 & the meds I'm on can "Kill" me if I go 2 days without them. Major withdrawal. So I called MTC and told them everything of what happened and didn't hear nothing back. I spent all day in severe panic attacks, I know my bp was sky rocketing. I went to sleep early because I'd been awake for over 24hrs. It was a morning appointment do it was the only way I could make it via Zoom. After all she said I don't think they care 1oz about their patients. I woke up this morning and was shocked at what I saw. I got a prescription waiting for me from my so trusting Morgan Kingrey from my Mood Treatment Center. I was over the moon when I saw it. I was so grateful. I don't want to go any place else. I want to go to Mood Treatment Center. I will pay what I owe to them for my appointments. I don't need much. I'm on ssi but will pay out of pocket just to go back there. I love this place it's like my home away from home lol. They have hot tea in every floor hot n cold water all the stuff. It's the BEST. I so want to go back. I love you all & miss you so much. I'm sure the therapist my kid sees is fine, despite always having migraines if the appointment is on a Monday. However, their billing department is staffed entirely by freaking morons. Have placed a card on file with them twice, but just got another email to do it again. Called and they had no card on file. I asked what happened to the one that was on file and was told, quote, "We ain't did nothing with it." Well, if you "ain't did nothing with it", where did it done did go? Every time I have to speak with billing, which is way too damn often, the person is clueless, and it's a crapshoot if the thing they said they'll do actually gets done. So I call back. Rinse, repeat. Also, they don't seem to understand how our insurance works; every visit is a different random copay. Oh, wait, our insurance doesn't do copays; they pay a set fee per visit. Maybe it's the charge for the sessions each time that changes? And God help you if you don't pay before your online session, with the card that was on file that done did disappeared, because you're instantly listed as past due. They charge a missed appointment fee if you don't cancel two days in advance, because reasons. I always plan my illnesses at least a week ahead of time, so that's good My favorite: therapist cancelled an appointment the same day, because she failed to plan ahead for being sick. Two days later I got an email about a missed appointment. When I called to dispute my missed appointment charge, I was told (1) there was no charge and (2) no such email had been generated. Again, I assume the therapist is perfectly competent, but dealing with the incompetency of Mood Treatment's billing department is wild. read more

I made an appointment for my child through the online portal 6 weeks ago. I uploaded their insurance cards at that time. I received a call today, the day of the appointment, that this practice does not accept their SECONDARY insurance and were cancelling the appointment. My child's primary insurance is accepted. I have worked and managed practices in the healthcare field for 22 years, and I understand insurance very well. I would have been responsible for the remainder of the bill after the primary covered their portion, just as I would have if there was only one insurance. To receive a call hours before an appointment that we have been waiting nearly 2 months for, and my child needs for their mental health, is disgraceful. I would be ashamed if my practices offered this disgusting quality of patient service. read more

worst psychiatrist I've ever been to in my entire life. I have a panic disorder and the only thing they would offer to help with is lavender pills...... My old psychiatrist from there his name is Andrew Harris. he straight up told me "well at least your not crazy" after telling him I was not seeing or hearing things. When I finally decided to switch to a new psychiatrist the mood treatment center gave me no warning before deleting my account. I needed to discuss transferring my information over and they have refused to help with that. I've called them multiple times. I've emailed and I've attempted signing into my account multiple times. I'm on a medication called Lamotrigine and if I stop taking it suddenly I can get something called Stephen Johnson syndrome, but apparently that doesn't matter to the people who work here. Not to mention I was just diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, and my psychiatrist response was to completely ghost me?.... Seems like they actually want you to get worse. Andrew Harris and Madison Stonewall are two people you want to stay away from! read more

My provider told me that they were about to cut me off because of my unpaid balance and they didn't have insurance information. I call them and give my current info, which I know I gave them. They said we have that info, this bill is for all of 2021, They neglected to bill my insurance for a year. They said I never gave them the information. Not true. If I don't pay, I lose my provider. Not to mention, it will probably be put on my credit report. read more

I was a patient for about 4 years with 2 different providers. I have always received compassionate attention and wise counsel. The meds prescribed for depression and anxiety were effective and my providers were also informed in wholistic approaches and recommended options that rounded out the meds. I have great confidence in their staff as professionals. They will take good care of you. read more

Can't rate services here because I've never been contacted to actually schedule an appt. They require a $20 "deposit" in order to schedule--which they wasted no time in charging to my credit card--yet after almost a week still no phone call. No appt. Nothing. If anyone can ever be bothered to call me I expect I'll get the standard excuse i.e. "we're swamped because of COVID." Right. But they can still find time to charge me for "service" they have failed to provide. Unacceptable. I started off years ago with Valerie and i had to wait for her and the whole time while we had our visit she was too busy reapplying lipstick and looking in the mirror. Trying to give me numerous meds without figuring out what may work. Then last year i was referred to Brian. No better. He added more meds to the meds that I was taking and by him knowing my condition, knowing I sm very impulsive so I stopped my meds. I emailed him to let him know and to ask if there was another alternative to help with my condition. No reply no response NOTHING!! Who would want a therapist like either one. I have been working with Valerie for several years and she has literally saved my life! Yes, she does often run late for her appointments, but the reason why is because she spends the necessary amount of time with each patient. The patient care is horrible I've had them cancel appointments last minute 3-4 times in a row. (5:30pm the night before for an 8:30am appt.) forget to leave prescriptions and argue with me whether I was me or not on the phone. It's causing undue stress and anxiety more than it's helping. They act like it's so easy to contact your practitioner because they have all these methods but they don't work. One star is generous. The only positive I have from this place is the therapist who I worked with in the past was great. read more

I've been going to MTC clemmons. Cliff Harper seems to listen and is willing to help me with my issues; however, their billing team, Michelle, Sierra etc leaves a lot to be desired. I had a scheduled appointment and it was cancelled VIA TEXT MESSAGE. I responded twice to find out why, I called, i emailed, no response. I called again and they proceed to tell me that my appointment was cancelled for billing reasons. You are going to cancel someone with no warning who is on medications that cannot be automatically stopped because of a BILLING ISSUE. Come to find out, they had been billing incorrectly the entire time. I had already provided them with the correct entity for my behavioral health and they continued billing incorrectly. I think it is despicable to, in essence, throw a client that needs help away because of YOUR mistake. Fortunately, I have accolade in partner with BCBS and Antoinette, my warrior, called with me and ensured they had the correct information for future billing. I think they need to have more respect for their clientele and ensure that their billing department knows their job. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes, that being said, the correct information was provided time and again and they still refused to resolve the problem. I've had no issues with the providers thus far, but we will see how that goes with my appointment next week. read more

My experience with the Mood Treatment Center has been pretty bad. The practioner I finally worked with was knowledgable, but after several months of waiting to get in to see someone (for both meds and therapy), I was rescheduled four times! One of the rescheduling notifications from their staff started out with the email greeting of "Hey." No name, and nothing remotely professional about the email itself. I have tried numerous times to find a therapist there who accepts insurance, and have been told yes and then no. Numerous times. And I mean numerous times. While in the waiting room, you get to listen to both a radio playing in the reception area along with conflicting music coming from a sound system in the waiting room, and people yakking on their cell phones. Lastly, today I called three times to get my prescriptions renewed and that was still a fail. I will be firing them soon. You can do much better elsewhere, and I will use my primary care doctor to provide me with my medication. That would be infinitely simpler. read more

When I first started going here, I saw a therapist who I've now found out diagnosed me incorrectly. I should of known since she was always cancelling appointments with the lamest of excuses. She left the practice since then. I decided not to see someone else until the right combination of drugs was found. That was a mistake. Since I was misdiagnosed(as being bipolar), I was put on meds for that which did not help at all. Valerie was always late for appointments. At least 30 minutes to a hour. She never really listen to my concerns. Just went from drug to drug. A ton of side effects and gained a ton of weight. I have also been inaccurately billed four times. Each time having to show my receipt from a previous appointment or bank statement showing I did pay them. I didn't get a text reminder for my last appointment either so I could cancel it. I couldn't log onto the website for appointments to check and cancel it. From past experience, calling them is a run around and impossible to get anyone. That's why I didn't call them. I did email to cancel and explained I haven't received any text reminders and could not log onto their appointment site. I didn't know when the appointment was. I was emailed back and was told it was cancelled. Though I was not told when the appointment was and how to fix my log in problem. Now I've gotten a text saying I have an online statement from them. The same number that usually texts me appointment reminders but didn't this past time. I cannot log on to check it. I shouldn't have any statements since I paid them every time I visited. Though I do wager I was billed for the cancelled appointment. Do not go here. I should have stopped a long time ago. Due to my bad anxiety, I kept going because I didn't want to start new some where else. I guess they did help me in a way. They did make me mad enough to quit going and look for somewhere else. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Aiken at the mood treatment center for over 5 years, and though some of the years have been rocky, he always tries his best to help me. My appointment was useless I feel. I had filled out a long info sheet and yet the questions i had answered were repeated to me by the therapist, even tho I asked that it not be done, she continued to do them. She wanted me to fit into a mold of the "clinically depressed" person altho my "depression" I told her was never more than a few hours at most...."the blues" or "down in the dumps" but NOT a minimum of 2 weeks of depression! I have a bad attitude I told her, and felt it was due to stressful situations in my life. It didn't seem to register or matter. ALSO I was billed $170.00 which I feel was quite different from the amount quoted previous to the appointment. No, I don't remember what that was. My income is Social Security and that was discussed before the appointment as to need to NOT have such an expensive meeting. I feel in general it was a waste of time, and now, money. read more

I have NEVER in my life felt so disrespected or judged. Whatever you do, do NOT MEET WITH VALERIE!!! She was running over an hour behind and I live 45 minutes away so that was a frustrating start already. She never apologized or even acknowledged the fact that she was so late (I later find out that she's known for being late, it wasn't a one time thing) Then once I finally get called back, our session lasts 10 minutes and she asks me nothing about why I was there and instead told me to come back for another session before she would give me the medicine I needed. She was so incredibly rude I was speechless. She was awkward, unhelpful, EXTREMELY judgmental, and made me feel 10x worse than before I came in. She asked me no relevant questions as to why I needed to be there and I am absolutely horrified by the way she made me feel. I would rather not get the help I need then sit through another 10 minutes with her. I am now going home in a worse state than I came in. It's evident her intent for my return was for her own financial benefit. Disgusting. read more

My first experience with the Mood Treatment Center was not at all good. I arrived having a very difficult time with my son and in need of assistance. I walked into an empty office, even though there were several cars in the parking lot. I waited more than 20 minutes. I had no idea if we would be seen or not. I walked thru the entire office calling out ," Hello! Is anyone here? " no answer. I called the office number from the waiting room. Went to voicemail. I called the crisis line from the waiting room. Went to voicemail. No return call. Finally I called 911. Eventually a woman walked into the waiting room. I explained the situation. She had no idea who we were or that we had an appt with HER, altho the office had called to confirm several days before. Would recommended using this center as a last resort only, until you can get in with someone else. Very poor patient care. read more

I have never felt so backed by a treatment team before. By being in the same building, my psych and therapist are able to communicate about the best treatment plan for me. I finally have the correct diagnosis, medications, and therapy and feel I am finally in recovery for my Bipolar II. I have recommended and personally driven friends to receive treatment here and all have been very happy with the treatment they were given. read more
