I have been using this firm for my incorporated consulting business. Generally they have been good…read morebut every year they send me a pack of forms to read and sign and when I submit it, even though it says I have three ways to pay, it forces me to enter a credit card to submit the forms. I have always paid them promptly by cheque or etransfer and every year I have to request to resend the forms without the forced credit card payments. It's now about 5 years in a row. A simple change. I have emailed them, filled out customer satisfaction surveys, got angry with them and nothing will make them preemptively change this very frustrating practice.

I paid $1,391.25 and what I received was one 40‑minute Zoom meeting on the free version of Zoom (the call cut off at 40 minutes because there was no paid account), and a draft agreement that did not match the terms of the already‑signed agreement and amendment. Important details were missing or incorrect, and the document wasn't usable. When I asked for a basic itemized invoice to understand how my retainer was used, I was refused. Instead, I received multiple hostile emails, including threats of collections and even threats of involving the police -- simply because I asked for an invoice and a refund. I later confirmed directly with the Academy of Financial Divorce Specialists that the practitioner is no longer authorized to use the CFDS designation, even though she continued to use it in every email signature while working with me. Because of the unprofessional conduct, refusal to provide an invoice, and misrepresentation of credentials, I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and all appropriate authorities. I ended up stopping the process and going through a lawyer instead. Sharing this so other families -- especially single parents trying to protect their finances -- can BE AWARE before choosing this business.
