Have you ventured into the Moon and Back photography exhibit yet? We decided to check it out since it was so close to us and we always drove by it. But was it worth the price? * Not exactly, despite the beautiful photos from some of the room. You only have 8 sections. And they say to limit yourself/group to 5-6mins per room. 1 hour time slot.... plus your not the only ones there! Other groups are there too so even if you spend more time in one room the groups behind will catch up to you if not pass you before you even get enough time in the next. * I do admit the experience was fun and the lightings were good. My favourite wall was the first one. Flower wall. Beautiful set up and nice lighting! The rest were darker and had lights to amplify the surroundings. * 5/10 ~ it wasn't worth it as there's only like 6 rooms lol. Despite the experience and the fun time taking quick photos; it was ultra short and I assume there was more photo booths inside as they limit you to 5-6 mins and you have 1 hour total but that isn't the case... * Would I go again? probably not it's definitely a one time thing. Fun to check out if you need photos but not fun enough to go back again to the same place.

We had a blast hanging out here at Moon & Back Gallery. We found our time sufficient, it doesn't take super long to go through all the rooms and get photos at each room. It was super fun and interactive, a very cool spot to get a few pictures! Definitely worth checking out at least once.

It's a place where powerful storytelling, artistic innovation, and human connection converge. I left the theatre inspired, moved, and already planning my next visit. The theatre is modern, comfortable and very well designed, with excellent views of the stage from any seat. The theatre itself is stunning, with a beautiful, classic interior that adds to the whole experience. The space manages to feel both grand and intimate, with a thoughtful design that invites you to slow down, observe, and soak in the welcoming energy. The staff were outstanding! Very helpful, courteous and professional. A perfect venue for an unforgettable show. The place is so well maintained that it really enhanced the experience!! Annie certainly lived up to expectations! Tears, laughter and dancing- what could be better? There is so much talent in the cast of Annie. The cast brought so much heart and energy to the story! The cast were just unbelievable and made the show what it is. This heartwarming holiday musical is full of hope, resilience and heart! It's so energetic and wholesome. From the catchy songs to the amazing cast, this production will leave you smiling long after the curtain closes! Amazing talent, wonderful story, beautiful music! Pure joy from start to finish! After more than 2 hours, when it ends, you just want more! Can't speak highly enough of it! Words fail me to describe the spectacle we saw that evening. Everything about this show was magical. Days later and I was still whistling the songs. The show is contagious! It is impossible not to smile, sing, or swing your head at the rhythm of the dances. An unforgettable experience that unites joy, nostalgia and the excellence of Richmond's Gateway Theatre. From the first note all the way through to the end, this is an unforgettable show. I could easily have walked out of the doors and back in for another performance. We were all up and dancing at the end and came out of the theatre with big grins on our faces. I recommend without hesitation. If you haven't grabbed your tickets yet, don't wait until "Tomorrow" - get them now before they're gone! ...and expect to be singing some great songs on your way home from the show!

I remember watching it myself many years ago when I was a young girl and as she and I have read quite a few of the "Anne" books together, I felt she'd enjoy the show just as much as I did.  The show was wonderful but I was a bit put off by how late the performance started. Start time for the show was supposed to be 1:00pm but the show didn't actually start until nearly 20 minutes. I was also not impressed with the system for getting refreshments during intermission. The lineup to get a drink/snack was insanely long and didn't seem to be moving. My daughter and I gave up after awhile and just back to our seats. I noticed a sign which indicated that one could pre-order drinks for intermission. I wonder how many other people saw this sign. I think it would have been nice if they'd advertised that option a bit more.  Overall, an enjoyable experience. We came to see the show so that's what mattered most and the show was wonderfully done. The experience could have been just a bit more enjoyable though if the show had started on time and if there had been a better system in place for people to get refreshments during intermission.  Service: Fair Parking: Paid parking Location: 6500 Gilbert Rd., right next to the Richmond Hospital

However, once you enter you see the exhibits are a bit more subdued and it isn't as large as it seems from the outside. Still, that shouldn't discourage you from having a good time and getting a big old "VAG" hand stamp on you to experience this art gallery. The exterior of this museum is all Victorian in the scope of its columns and use of concrete materials. It could be a museum perfectly placed in any other Commonwealth country. Entering inside you go through a long hallway with a gift shop at the very end with a good selection of art related and niche items to buy. On one side of the hallway are lockers and restrooms. On the other is a stairway up to their cafe/restaurant as well as the entrance to the actual galleries for the museum. It doesn't feel aged and instead quite modern and efficiently designed. As most museums, there is a rotation of different exhibits and featured artists. During my visit one of the most visually stunning pieces was an atrium area with curving staircases on both sides with a rainbow pattern of waves on the ground. It was a nice visual and interactive piece and definitely one meant for social media. Continuing on I enjoyed seeing lots of interactive art pieces. One was a prompt on the wall where you could put sticky notes on the wall to answer the question. Another similar piece was found but instead of sticky notes you could hang pieces of paper with words or artwork as your response to their prompt. One of my favorite parts of the Vancouver Art Gallery was their offerings of easy to carry foldable chairs. This meant if you really found something you wanted to spend more time on you had a chair to help sit for a while. I wish more museums had this amenity. First Fridays of each month means free admission, though it is first come first serve so you might be waiting a while. But a free admission to this museum felt worth it. However, if you have to pay to come in unless they have a specific piece of art or artist featured that you like it might feel a bit expensive for the price of admission. Either way, museums are a great insight into any city and if you want to experience the creative side of Vancouver, the Vancouver Art Gallery is a good place to visit while exploring the city.

Is that all there is??? (Cue Peggy Lee)…read more I feel strange giving an art museum a 2 star rating, but... I visited VAG last week - it had been over a decade. The admission fee (no senior discount) was $35. Was looking forward to the Emily Carr exhibit (4th floor) - but it was puzzlingly small. I'm aware that VAG has a large collection of Carr's work in their permanent collection - why isn't more of it being shown??? The second floor gallery was off limits - apparently while a new exhibit is created. OK, the first floor had a pottery and a photography exhibit. Where is the permanent exhibit?? The old masters? The Group of Seven?? I was left with a feeling of scarcity. Until the museum is built up I'd suggest lowering the admission fee to something more commensurate with what's being shown. Honestly, it's a stately building with not very much being offered for public viewing. In the meantime, I enjoyed a tasty well-presented appetizer at 1931 Gallery Bistro.
