Service: By far one of the best services for an AYCE restaurant. All the waitresses are older women but they have great mannerisms and attitudes towards your endless requests. **TIPS** - Ask for soy sauce for your meat. I made reservation for tonight at 630pm. I walked in and thought it was a bit small but ok let's have at it. They took us to another room which I didn't see. It was kind of small and crowd, leaving us with a little counter space. We checked it and received a free beer although we all checked it but it's just one per table only (Bummed). We ordered from the wall as the menus is hung on the walls around the tables. The prices are reasonable $22 for AYCE. The grill is on the table with the banchan (side dishes) surrounding the grill on the table. We ordered a few of the listed meats and enjoyed a few cheers of lemon soju. I do highly recommend ordering the top sirloin! I wanted to say I don't like bean paste soup however I was a bit 'wow' on this bean paste soup. I actually really enjoyed it and their side salad! It was a cabbage side salad that kept me asking for more. I will not be back wit my little one only because it's super crowd and the tables are a bit smaller and he burned his finger touching the rim of the grill (it was reachable) and I couldn't push his chair any far back due to the small dinning area. I didn't think anything here stood out. The sides were all pretty bland, some weren't good at all. I was also bummed to find that the marinated short ribs, which was the only meat I found flavorful, was the one we couldn't have "all you can eat" of. Lame. I went to this KBBQ for the first time last night and I must say it's one of the WORST customer service I've experienced. No one pays attention to you. I legitimately spent 10-15 minutes, faced away from the grill and trying to get a server's attention. Apparently it takes 3 servers to address the alcohol fridge... and one server in particular avoided looking at me the most. He the tallest working there and I didn't get his name. I asked him for more water when he brought more meat to my table, then he never got it. I tried to get his attention again, some other customer walked up to ask for water as he was at the host stand and he grabs their water first. I was super hungry but at some point I didn't even bother asking for more meat because it took longer to place the order. The only person I would say gave good service is this elder lady who works there. I think her name is Jenny? When I expressed how I've been waiting for the other servers to bring stuff I've asked about multiple times, she was attentive and sweet. Other than that, I wouldn't recommend this place at all. There's nothing more I despise than lies or half-truths. This place claims to be AYCE, and as an avid AYCE K-BBQ eater, it is NOT. $19.99 for their standard menu but they put a limit on how many pieces of meat you can have; specifically, marinated short rib (1 piece per person) and fresh tenderloin (1 piece per couple). I find this incredibly LAME. there are TONS of AYCE for the same price that let you eat your face off, even with marinated short rib and tenderloin. what's more maddening is that we were a party of 3, and even then, we weren't allowed 1.5 pieces of tenderloin, only ONE. so instead, we ordered non stop orders of brisket, chopped tenderloin, pork belly, all of which were very tasty. each order is much smaller than other AYCE, so you have to keep requesting additional dishes. the servers stopped coming around to our table, almost as if to be a deterrent for us asking for more food. also, their banchan is way less impressive - potato salad, kimchee, daikon, radish and cilantro-onions. good but not very much of it and slow to refill. overall, sad experience b/c they really seemed to discourage eating all you can eat, despite their advertisement. read more

Ooh! I am sooo excited that i found a new place for Korean BBQ. New to me, dear Yelpers but also to Yelp since i couldn't find an existing review on here. Yes, it made my day. I am so easily amused. On to the good news. It's all you can eat. I love AYCE places. I'm not normally a pig out person but this time, i just had to indulge myself. The place is literally the next block over from Furusato BBQ. The idea was to go to Furusato but as packed as it was, we had to find alternatives. That's when we found Moon BBQ. Sure, it's a bit more pricey than Furusato... $17.99 or $19.99 vs $9.99 but so much more variety. 17 items for the former price and 20 items for the latter. We were seated immediately. Table of three. The place was small but pretty busy. The wait staff was friendly and pretty attentive. The usual assortment of condiments and snacks were placed in front of us immediately. Rice soup, salad, sauces, kim chi. All before we even were asked what we wanted to drink! The one thing you notice immediately is that the BBQ surface is not some non-stick grill but a true BBQ surface and the heat kicks in super quick. It resemblance those autodonner burners the gyro meat is cooked on. We all opted for water and the 17 item menu. Starting with beef brisket, short ribs and the beef ribs with soy sauce. The ribs were succulent and delicious. The beef brisket was so soft and tender. We then had the black pork belly and marinated spicy chicken. Whoa! That chicken has quite a kick. Now, if you are like me and don't do spicy, you are going to feel like someone shoved a white hot coal in your mouth. It stings!! My two compadre's loved it though. We tried to order the ribs with soy sauce again but was told only 1 per person per meal. That sucks. We tried the tenderloin and the soybean paste marinated pork belly. Dang! That's some good eatin'! We tried this place because after reading many reviews, this was highly recommended by many people. We came here because they offered outdoor dining. When we first sat down, I thought we had great service but as we were eating, the service was starting to go downhill. The workers was probably started to get annoyed with us since we kept asking for more things. However, I think if the servers would just stop and listen then they wouldn't have to go back and forth. We would literally be asking for items while they are walking like they didn't have the time for us. The meat quality was ok. The short rib had great flavoring while others was completely bland. I was a little disappointed as they don't have a variety of the side dishes. I also find that charging a 7 year old full price was not necessary. How much can a 7 year old eat? When I am craving a hearty meal, I come to Moon BBQ with friends or family. This place is located on Western Ave in the city of Gardena. The parking lot is not too ample, but the other businesses in the small shopping plaza are closed by the time this place opens, so I've never really experienced an issue with parking. When you walk inside, just tell the waitress there how many are in your party, and you will be seated within 15 minutes. There are several tables that accommodate parties of four or less, and there are a few tables that can accommodate more. For a party of 5 or more, it is best to call in ahead of time. The food is outright delicious, but the cuts of meat are not lean. The meal somes with a wide assortment of sides, of which I like: the noodle soup, the white rice paper, the sweet sauce for the grilled meat, and white rice. My buddies and I usually get brisket, which I like because it's very chewy. They also get pork belly, but I don't eat it. From what I hear, it is pretty good if you are into pork. As far as drinks go, you can get imported hard liquors or beers. I usually have a shot of hard liquor, and one glass of beer. I love Moon BBQ for their spicy pork belly! Moon BBQ has good quality of pork belly selection in the AYCE. I like to come here mostly for their pork. Not a lot of beef option in their $19.99 AYCE. Just a note, they recently raised their AYCE prices. The side dishes are not amazing but one thing that makes them different, is the cilantro & onion mix. I love cilantro and I love onion, and the combination goes so well with the meat. It's a pretty small place so I like to get there around 5. 6 or 7, expect a bit of a wait. I do prefer this place more than Gen in the Torrance location. Gen has more variety but quality of meat at Moon is much better. Yellow Cow down the street has even better quality than Moon but it's not AYCE. Service is usually pretty good at Moon. Usually at other kbbq places I've been to the first two plates of meat will be good and then they start to get shitty or frozen or something of the ladder. The sides are standard and their kimchi is good too. At other places the kimchi can taste kind of sweet? Or something weird. This place it's spicy and delicious. Like my review for Jang Soo, Furusato was crowded and didn't want to wait for satisfying my craving for KBBQ. There was Moon Daepo BBQ right on the next plaza and it seem empty. We knew that the higher the price for AYCE, the less crowded a place usually is. So we decided to give this joint a try. My girlfriend and I have actually been here maybe three times and I'm finally writing a review. Exterior - Located on the busy street of Western Ave. in a very small plaza shared with other Korean businesses. The parking lot can hold probably 15 cars and that is including like 3 handicapped parking slots. Very large sign, I believe saying Moon Daepo BBQ in Korean, above their establishment. Couple of chairs outside for waiting parties. Interior - One of the smaller KBBQ I've been to. Can hold around 20 people. They have these very small round tables with built in grills. I feel pretty claustrophobic eating here because each tables are so close to each other. You can feel like the chair your sitting on is touching the chair of someone else on the next table. Customer Service - The first two times coming here, customer service was above average. It is one of the reasons why we came back. Our request would be answered and they do regular checkups which I found splendid. Some of the waiter/waitresses also spoke and understood English, so this is beneficial to non-speaking Korean customer. However, customer service has changed ever since. However we came two more times, and customer service has drastically changed. I felt like just because we were only a group of two and we did not speak Korean, that it is okay for them to ignore us. They rarely did checkups and they didn't reply to requests. We would ask for salad, and the waiter took our bowl and never returned. We had to ask someone else for the salad back. I'm not sure where the great waiter/waitresses went. Food - Food has been okay for all the times I've been here. They do offer two options of AYCE and the only difference is the more expensive one offers 2-3 more meat option. They offer meats such as brisket, black pork belly, chicken, beef tongue, short ribs, and other marinated meats or marinated versions of what I just listed. They offer very few side dishes(kimchi, potato salad, raddish, broccoli with red sauce, and one more dish). They do offer some special sweet sauce that goes with intestines. You must ask for sesame oil and hot sauce. They do offer deals on their Soju, I believe if you buy two then you will get the third one for a penny. Overall - I would not be coming back to this establishment again. I'd rather go to Jang Soo which is only a couple blocks away with better customer service and better food. I liked Moon at first, but last few experiences were disappointing. Last incident, they were very mad at me for not tipping them a lot. First restaurant visit since self-quarantine. They check your temperature before coming in. I went on a Friday night and it wasn't crowded at all so that was a good thing. I thought the tables were too close to each other, so they could of spread groups away from each other more. The meat was good. Of all the KBBQ places in the South Bay area, Moon BBQ is probably the best KBBQ place out there! It definitely beats Gen if you are contemplating on where to go and eat in the South Bay (and you don't feel like driving all the way to Ktown). I recalled having their spicy pork belly and it was one of my favorites on their AYCE 19.99 menu! I believe prices went up since the last time I've been here. Thought prices went up, it's hella worth. For me, I would rather pay more for bomb ass quality meat than pay cheap and get bad quality of meat (Ahem...Furusato). When the meat tastes good, I'm pretty satisfied haha :) customer service can be improved on and I wish they have better ventilation inside the place. Came here with a group of friends (party of 4) on a Thursday evening (7:45). This is my second times here. (As of 06/14/12) We had the $17.99 All you can eat Korean BBQ. Heads up: this place is very small and not very roomy, including the amount of room on the table. The service here so far have been great. It was a little busy around 8:30 but didn't seem like they were "rush rushing" us. The only complain I have are I wish they would take away the dish for us since the table is not roomy for a party of 4. Also, they can be a tiny bit faster on refilling the house ice tea (without us having to keep on asking). Cleanliness: overall it's ok. Could you a bit rub down cleaning but isn't terrible. The restroom surprisingly clean (term of scale 1-5 its a 3.5) , compare to the outside. I really appreciate they kept on coming and changing the grill plate everytime we cook new meat. Foods: the BEEF here are delicious. We didn't try the chicken this time because my friends can't eat or stand the smell of chicken. If you never try beef tongue before, this is a great place to try. My American friends were very iffy to try, but they did, and one person love the chewiness while the other was ok with it . Neither hate the beef tongue . Just returned from my first trip to Moon... I'm feelin'... meh! Not bad meh, not good meh... just average meh. I just didn't find myself jumping on Facebook to tell all my closest friends about it. The table orders three different meats, is served rice and other typical sides. The boneless short rib was pretty nice, tender and was probably my favorite; the brisket was tasty too and very thin-cut. My brother ordered the spicy marinated chicken which he enjoys but was too spicy for my tame pallet. I think the prices are what did it for me: AYCE for $17.99 with soft drinks for $2.50. Ouch. The bill (with tip) was over $100 for 4 people. And the table they sat us at was really, really small (even for a Korean BBQ place). Because we weren't a group of six, we couldn't have the larger square tables... they instead sat us at these kinda-bigger-than-Starbucks tables that just didn't cut it for four people. The parking is terrible so get there early or park off Gardena Blvd, after hours the library is closed so park there and walk it. The food is pretty good and the sides are limited and you have to ask for rice since its off the menu. The seats are not the most comfortable and your a big person then its going to be uncomfortable, the seats are hard mental stools. The service is excellent and plenty of food rolling in to enjoy.
