Learned about this hidden treasure while scrolling on Instagram. I don't get to indulge in Hawaiian bbq often, so I decided to make the trek out. It took me almost 30 minutes with Thursday afternoon traffic via streets and 60 freeway. The location is in a shopping center where Euclid and Philadelphia meet. I ordered takeaway of the bbq beef and chicken katsu combo with rice and Mac salad. The meal container itself was secured with a rubber band. That already gave me an idea that this combo plate will easily last me 2-3 meals. Sure enough, I took several bites of each entree and finished the scoop of the Mac salad. My cravings were satisfied! I ordered the half beef half chicken bowl with extra mac salad and rice, and my husband got the chicken katsu with teriyaki chicken and extra mac salad. We also shared an order of the poke nachos. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and every item we ordered was amazing. The meats were flavorful, the portions were generous, and the poke nachos were a great addition to the meal. I've been wanting to go here since they opened. They are located near the food 4 less almost in the back corner. Parking is pretty easy as it is in a large lot. This place wasnt packed at all. I arrived on a Tuesday around 7pm. Once inside I saw someone ordering at the register and noticed they have big touch screens that you can order at so I just ordered there. They also allow you to put notes on the order in case you want to make any modifications. We ordered the poke nachos and the beef combo. The poke nachos was BOMB.COM. it was loaded! Normally I've had poke nachos with wonton chips but this was unique because it had tortilla chips. It held up pretty nice with all the sauce they put on it. The beef combo was okay. It needed more flavor. Luckily they alsp give you a teryaki sauce too. The Mac salad was also very tasty, it had a garlic taste. Id probably come back for the nachos. That was delicious. We came for lunch on a Saturday and was able to secure a parking spot before heading inside. They have 2 self order screens or you can place the order with a staff. We did the latter. The girl in the front was really friendly and helpful. She would later come by our table and made sure we had everything we needed. They packed up the food as if you're taking it to-go, and it was neatly wrapped, with sauces and utensils inside. Then the aroma hits and it made us that much more hungry, we could not wait to dig in. Our littles loves the chicken katsu. It was crispy on the outside while the chicken inside is tender and moist. The single plates comes with 2 scoops of either rice or macaroni salad. The rice were cooked well and pairs well with both proteins we chose. The macaroni salad were cooked nicely and also pairs well with the proteins. It had some red chili powder on top, but it didn't have a kick to it, so dont be afraid to try it. The bbq ribs were huge, but it was cooked well and had so much flavors on it. It was already glazed with a sauce so it was great to just pick it up and take a nice bite out of them. There are plenty of tables and chairs inside if you decide to dine-in. There is a self-serve water dispenser and help yourself to extra plates and utensils on the counter. The place is well lit, clean, nicely decorated too! The food is worth the price and you won't be disappointed in the portion and flavor! The customer service here is also great! Heard great reviews about this place from social media, so we decided to drive up to try it out. It's inside a strip mall where Food 4 Less is located. They have a few tables inside to eat inside, and a bench for you to sit and wait for your food. There are board games available to use while you wait for your food. The girls working there are very friendly. You do have to order from a kiosk, so they don't take cash. The menu is pretty much the same like most Hawaiian cuisine places but they had lobster tail, which I've never seen at other Hawaiian fast food restaurants. They do not have a fountain machine, so you either pay $2.50 for one can of soda, which is crazy, or get ice tea which is $2.90, and get free refills. We had a party to go to so we didn't want to eat too much, so we decided to try the chicken katsu and chicken teriyaki with two scoops macaroni salad. The panko breading was delicious, but the chicken patty was way too thin. I felt like I ate more breading than the chicken. The teriyaki chicken was tender and very tasty. The macaroni salad did not taste like what I grew up eating in Hawaii. I should have gotten it with rice. I'm very particular with my Hawaiian macaroni salad since I grew up eating it in Hawaii. The cabbage was shredded and raw, so I was a bit disappointed since most places cook it. You do get great portions for the price. One of our favorite Hawaiian restaurants is Aloha Hawaiian Barbecue in Costa Mesa near South Coast Plaza, so we had high expectations going in. They absolutely do not skip out on portions! Taste-wise, the food was also delicious. The Mac salad was creamy and light. I love that the rice also had furikake seasoning to add even more flavor.
