Service was so bad. I ordered soup and did not got a spoon for it. My partner ordered a steak and did not got a steak knife. The waitress did not even came back to check on our table. We heard her offering dessert to the other table bug not to us. We felt not welcomed at all. But guess what we still tipped her over 20% even if she does not deserved it. Last time I was there with my mom for her birthday they did not refill our water at all. I tipped them 30%. Well I will never go back there and I will make sure non of my friends and coworkers will never go back to this place. The food was great but they need to re train their front employees on good customer service otherwise you'll lose your local clienteles. read more

I definitely loved the appetizers more than the entrees, but will say that it is a beautiful restaurant for the view of the ocean. It's easier to book via yelp then aim their website, but I would definitely call beforehand to try to get one of the tables that face the ocean because it's a vibe! - oysters were really good and fresh, one of my favorite parts of the meal - the jumbo coconut prawns were good but for the price...it only comes with 3 pieces for $15, that's $5 per shrimp! It comes with a guava pineapple sauce that is a perfect balance of sweet and tart. - Brussels sprouts were fried well and am the pieces were pretty crunchy just how I like it! - lobster Mac & cheese: least favorite because the Mac and cheese was actually really bland and had no flavor. I don't like heavily salted things, but it really needed some salt. - steak frites medium rare: good texture and tender, and the fries We're really good, but again I think the seasoning could have been better. read more

This place is a hidden gem. 10 of us came for a celebration of life lunch and everything was wonderful. The setting is second to none, even the Cliff House views have nothing on this place. The Moonraker is closer to the water and on a sunny afternoon spectacular. The staff were kind and generous. They were efficient and helpful with menu options. For starters we had the calamari, stuffed dates, burrata and the kobe caspacio (sp) For the entree we all tried something different; shrimp entree, clams, steak fritz, pot roast, fish and chips, sole, chicken parma and pasta bolanase. Everyone was very pleased with their meal. We ordered the apple crumble and the chocolate lava both were WOW! We all left feeling very content. Oh and there was a piano player. She was marvelous, what a lovely touch. It was not very busy for a Sunday and parking is free. If you have not been here do go, you will not be disappointed. This is supposed to be a higher end restaurant and the food was very underwhelming. The thing that's always stuck with me was how lazy and gross the mac and cheese was as a side. Just plain pasta with a runny sauce they threw together, yuck! Steaks were pretty decent in flavor, drinks were good but expensive. I will say they have great views of the water, so that helped the experience. But if you sit in the crescent booths right in front of the window be prepared to share half of it with another party. That's sort of a strange dynamic to me. Best thing we had was the raspberry sorbet. read more

I am so sorry to write this review because this is a restaurant in my hometown. We dined there tonight for the New Year's Eve dinner at $130 per person. The food was so subpar that some parts of it were uneditable. I can't even describe what the mush was that was supposedly the vegetables. And then they had the nerve to call the potatoes Ana something that had a thick crust of Parmesan cheese. Potatoes Ana should be delicate and soft. Everything was so confusing with the wait staff that we received our second course before we even received our first course. The really sad thing was we were sitting next to a family from North Carolina and they thought the service and the food was absolutely horrible. I have tried to support the Moonraker since I've lived here since 1991 and remember the wonderful restaurant, Barolo's, but I can no longer support this restaurant. Very sad. read more

I loved my visit to Moonracker. This was a special treat for us and everything made it special. The ease of making the reservation and kind staff happy to answer my question were just the beginning. They were able to accommodate me getting the booth facing the ocean. It was nice to catch views of some whales . The soothing ocean views added to a great dining experience. The service and food delivery were prompt. Our order of half the platter was beyond adequate. Everything was so fresh and had no fishy smell. The smoked salmon just melted in your mouth. Excellent food, excellent service, wonderful atmosphere, and highly recommended. Our party of four had Saturday brunch with mussels frite, steak frite, and pot roast. All lunches were copious and satisfying. An added enhancement is that we had a great, expansive view of the Pacific Ocean as we dined. It was such a pleasure to come for Happy Hour ! After a chilly Late November Pacifica farmers market (Wednesdays 2-6) ! I wanted to "stay for sunset" and boy did I hit the JACKPOT for a viewing platform! The happy hour "bar area"included high top tables , but since I was flying solo , I perched at the actual bar . The bartender was a strikingly tall & long haired chap who fixes an absolutely top-drawer Dirty Martini. Their "house" gin was nicely aromatic too . I would say the $1.50 HH OYSTERS (normally 3.50) were the Star of the Show ..... but then that Gorgeous Beach Sunset , stole the spotlight & stole my heart ! read more

Ate here on slow Monday, July 3, while staying at the hotel, and enjoyed the view, food and drinks. Besides the fact that the hostess obviously hated her life, job and coworkers, and wanted to take it out on customers by being rude, cold and difficult -- giving us a cold shoulder for not having reservations despite them just opening there with dozens of open tables and nobody waiting -- we had a nice dinner and experience. Wait staff was nice, and helpful, despite their pissy counterpart, and the food was great considering the immediate area didn't have too many good options. Amazing view. I'm so sorry, but the whole experience was terrible, and it was my call to go to Pacifica Wagu beef carpaccio Where's the beef, it was covered with cheese, potato chips were stale, and not enough sauce. Dungeness Crab Cakes Over fried, dried like a hockey puck, but worst of all is no Dungeness Crab was used at all. Cippino with overcooked scallops, mussels, and clams. Ling cod chunks smells and Crab legs not fresh for sure Steak Frites Beef hanger steak was okay but not medium rare as requested. It was MW. The duck fat fries.......oh man, where do I start !!! Lobster Mac and cheese, old and over cooked lobster, can't even get it off the shell. We lost interest half way, so no pictures, just wanted to get over with and leave. Management and Chef Please retrain the hostess, not smiling/welcoming, tables no set properly, missing silverware, and busser brought stained silverware after we asked, dirty and crumbs under all the tables from the night before. I suggested to abord, but my girls were hungry and still we drove from Fremont. And Chef, truth of advertising, If u are not using Dungeness Crab meat or duck fries, don't put it on the menu. read more

Jason and his crew made my 53rd birthday very special, Ok can't say enough wonderful things about The Moonraker, but will always look to spend my special times and events there, as I always do I get the NY Steak with the butter on top, and the Molten Lava Cake (the desert in the photo) was delicious, I was definitely full after that and a good cup of coffee, the rain pouring down during the dinner was a great addition to the ambience for a stormy winter evening on the coast, thanks again as always to Jason and his staff (I am horrible with remembering names, but our server and hostess were so inviting and attentive, I will ALWAYS recommend this restaurant to all inmy friends and family, and will be back soon. MoonRaker has always been one of those local places I thought was just whatever because old people went there, but it was SO good. The price point is super reasonable for the food and portion. I think it was only $60 for the steak and lobster Mac, but it was such a big portion and the Mac had so much lobster it was totally worth like $100. Connected to the Pacifica Lighthouse by Wyndham, the entry to the restaurant currently is by entering the hotel and going to the second floor via a set of stairs. There's a dedicated Peking structure under the hotel for hotel and restaurant guests. I came in for an early dinner around 5PM and requested a window seat. After walking in, I realized most of the seats have a view, being staggered and slightly raised on the inner tables to give everyone a view of the ocean. I ordered a clam chowder, lobster tails and steak. After our beverage order, bread for the table came hot with softened butter. All pretty standard for a hotel restaurant. The clam chowder served slightly under piping hot, with a huuuge amount of clams, definitely worth it for the price. Lobster was alright, I've definitely had better, especially from more seafood focused restaurants out in the peninsula. The steak was cooker perfectly medium rare as requested, with a nice sauce on top. Overall a very filling meal, so much so that I was barely able to finish the whole entree. To finish, I ordered a watermelon mint sorbet, which was really awesome and refreshing. read more
