    Hazelnut croissant

My life changed here. We were spending the morning in Queen Anne and decided to pop into this bakery "just to look". The smell was intoxicating. Each pastry looked so beautiful. We went with the chocolate hazelnut croissant and split it. The first bite genuinely transported me to heaven. The filling had the essence of Nutella but it tasted more luxurious. SOOO smooth and gooey in the best way. There's nothing worse than getting a filled pastry and running out of filling after a couple bites. Nope, not the case here. The filling reached every single bite, it was so incredibly delicious with the flaky, buttery croissant. Looks may be deceiving, but this was definitely not too sweet! It was utter perfection and truly a work of art to look at.

Absolutely gorgeous pastries and one of the genuinely kindest front counter persons we've met so far. We went with one savory and three sweet pastries, each with their own texture. All delicious, however my review is a reflection of my taste only. These have generous fillings with great flavor. The raspberry in particular was fruit forward vs sugar. The almond had a very nice toasty and nutty flavor and a light subtle glaze that did not take away from the flakiness of the layers. The cherry bear claw was delicate and the warmed savory (Gruyère) item was the only one too delicious not to finish in one sitting. Cute garden seating outside and a lovely neighborhood gem. Enjoy!

Loved this bakery when it was Le Reve. This is where I first discovered the kouign aman and that caramelized sugar with croissant texture is just perfect. Got a chance to stop by again and grab a bunch of stuff and try. The pastry texture in general is just so good. The mushroom Gruyère pastry was super tasty, a little spiced. The lemon chocolate croissant is really good. The custard inside is a little tart. We also had the croissant which was pretty good. Not the best I've ever had but still pretty solid. There's minimal seating area. Some outside and some inside.

I've only tried the various croissants at Moonrise Bakery, such as my favorite Twice Baked Chocolate Almond Croissant that I managed to remember to take a picture of this most recent visit before gobbling it up! Their croissants are so perfectly flaky and messy. IMO, if the flakes don't get all over the place, it is an inferior croissant... Hahaha. I'm slightly kidding, but I believe there is a lot of truth in this. It paired well with my Americano that I didn't think needed added sugar because the pastry had enough sweetness to balance the two things out. Moonrise Bakery is located in Upper Queen Anne. They opened in 2020 and are part of the Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. family. They have a great front porch and outdoor patio-- perfect for dog and people watching! :-)

Fantastic bakery. Loved their pastries and they had some great gluten free options too! Really cute outside seating too.

I stop at Moonrise often when I am in upper Queen Anne. Located in the former space of Le Reve, Moonrise carries on with delicious croissants and assorted pastries. My fav being the twice baked chocolate croissant. It's best to get there early for the best selection. Their breakfast sandwiches are provided by Harried & Hungry. Service is friendly and prompt. There is counter seating indoors, as well as an outdoor patio.

This place is so good!! Try ther Cinnamon rolls! Delicious! Go early - sometimes they run out.

Love the London Fog tea and the London Fog pastry! Dined outside while the weather was cool and pleasant, and definitely enjoyed the time with the drink and pastry. There was no line, and I got my items quickly. They also have a small, cute section inside for wine and souvenirs.

This shop is small but mighty. It doesn't have a huge selection in its small space, but it does have a good one. Everything is well made and delicious. I also like how they are confident enough to even bring in and feature a few baked goods from smaller bakers in the area. Service is friendly, kind, and helpful. Definitely worth visiting.

We started our day off for my husband's birthday by going to this bakery that popped up on Yelp as a place that I should try out. We were so a thousand percent impressed and happy that we went here to get his little birthday treats. The Ambiance of the store is just so warm and inviting. The second you open the door your nose is touched by the sweetness and delicious butter that is looming over all the tasty treats. And the array of colors that are in there due to the different pastries, chocolates, wine, and little items to buy just makes it even more fun to be in there. The service we received was exceptional. The individual behind the cash register greeted us with a huge smile and asked us if it was our first time in the bakery. We let them know yes and that it had been our first time in Seattle in a while. She gave us recommendations, confirmed our proper pronunciation of Kouign Amann, and meet as few well at home there. Now we ended up taking home four main pastries to savory to sweet. The two savory pastries were simply amazing. We got the ham style croissant and then the wild mushroom with gruyere cheese. Both were divine. I will say the wild mushroom taste came out so lovely when you've been into it in comparison to the saltiness of the gruyere cheese. For the sweet pastries again they were amazing and I will say I'm still trying to figure out the hint of something at the end after biting into the Kouign Amann. And the blood orange citruseness paired so well with the feeling that it had. I believe it was cardamom and so so good. Overall hands down, if you are in the area you need to try this bakery.

Absolutely fabulous bakery! My husband and I stopped by two days in a row during our quick visit to Seattle and got plenty of treats to share with our families! The service was quick and very friendly, and the ambiance was cozy and lively at the same (seems to be a local favorite!). We really enjoyed all the pastries we had and I wish we had one out here in the Midwest! They have some fun twists on classic pastries like lemon chocolate croissant, mushroom gruyere danish, and more!

I've been here at least 3 times and have gotten an assortment of pastries and coffee each time. 10/10 on the pastries, so incredibly fresh, fluffy, and flaky. The best I've had in Seattle yet! I love that they use local good-quality espresso, but the roast is very light and nutty, and I prefer a darker espresso flavor. The staff is friendly and helpful when I have questions about the products. There are only a few indoor seating and plenty of outdoor seating, so dress for the weather if you are planning on sitting in. Will be coming back when I need my pastry fix!

Great pastries at Moonrise Bakery in Queen Anne! It's a small place with outdoor seating only. They have a good selection of pastries, baked goods, and breakfast sandwiches. They also sell goods to purchase - wines, nonalcoholic drinks, condiments, other pantry items and coffee beans. I got the kouign-amann pastry which was perfectly caramelized and delicious. The pastry was beautifully laminated and flakey!

There are several beers and some ciders on tap from all around and all the ipa's I've tried here have been pretty decent. from there you grab your brew and have a seat at high top tables within the tap room. Again, the setting is mid-sized good for a couple groups of four and a few two person tables. Music is at a decent volume and is lit dimly making it decent for a date spot or just a place to have conversation without raised voices. Fridges line the tap room so you can mix and match beers, ciders and wines to take out which is cool. I like Bottleworks, I want to enjoy it more, but there are some issues holding me to 3 stars. The staff are...alright. Not bad, but I feel could be a little friendlier. Also they don't allow sample pours? This is a common thing at most breweries, but maybe it's because this is a tap room, but beers run a bit higher here - $8-9 a pour so that's annoying that you can't even try a couple. Lastly, they rotate things out it seems weekly. Some of the more popular options I suppose they keep but seems like a lot of turn around on the drinks so if you like something they have on tap, don't get too attached. Perhaps on subsequent visits It will improve, and I can boost the score here, but besides the decent beers and setting, it's just OK here.

One of the best bottle shops in the country!…read more I've had many of Bottleworks' anniversary beers in the past because they always team up with stellar breweries to make them.. but before today I have never visited the famous shop. It's smaller than I imagined it to be but every beer inside, from the draft list to the cans and the bottles are carefully curated by the staff. We grabbed a quick beer (Hill Farmstead, which is the first time I've seen this brewery for sale in the since I started this trip 6 weeks ago and Ive been through 4 states) Then we shopped for some cans, we quickly had to refrain from buying too much as the refrigerator in our van only holds so much. We ended up with a six pack and then grabbed a mystery 4 pack on the way out (mystery 4 pack was stellar). While we're shopping they opened a sour from Jester King and shared it with us. I honestly wish I lived a bit closer (Las Vegas is kinda far) because I'd be here everyday... Honestly, they have a whole cooler just for barley wine! The staff are very knowledgeable about beer and are very hospitable. Thanks for a great experience!
