However, the new station is quite nice, and they needed to do it to remove the level crossings. Trains do regularly come through here, but the other thing is that they have restrooms as well, something that tends to be missing from the older stations. Like, it is fancy, and modern, but it Park would have been nice to keep the old station building as well.

This is sort of a beach side railway station, namely because it is actually a short walk to the…read morebeach. However, it is also quite close to the shops as well, making is a rather convenient beachside location. However, one of the catches is that it does take quite a while to actually get down here, depending on where you happen to live of course. Still, as a railway station, this place certainly does work quite well, and the trains are sort of regular, at least as far as Melbourne trains are concerned.

So, this is basically one of those beachside railway stations, that also happens to be the end of the line, which means that all of the trains that end up here end up terminating. The station itself is rather nice, one of those older stations that, no doubt, goes back to the days when people would generally catch the train to the beach, namely because nobody actually owned a car.

Huntingdale station is a blasted monopoly station. It's the last stop in zone 1 on the…read moreDandenong/Cranbourne line, so if one doesn't wish to pay more than $3.80 for a concession day ticket and live vaguely locally, then it's a necessary destination. It also has a shuttle to Monash Clayton, so gets all the uni students coming through (again with the stingy). Fairly quiet station, safe, not especially well maintained, and has frequent trains. Why the two stars then? The carpark. If you miss the standard carpark (ie arrive anywhere between 7:30am and 3pm) then you have to park in the giant dirt pit that is the overfill carpark. If you park there, good luck getting your car out again before about 5pm. Good luck getting it out without serious car damage anyway. Disaster.

The board at Huntigdale station states that the destination of the bus 900 is Rowville yet neither the timetable nor the map next to it lists a bus station with that name and the map does not show a suburb called Rowville. So clearly if you are not from the area you have no idea if you are heading in the right direction.
