We couldn't believe our good fortune when we stumbled upon this campsite, on the recommendation of some fellow motor homers we had met at a different site.
It is modern and absolutely immaculate, with fantastic facilities. I was very very happy to find a heated and cosy bathroom area, with lovely shower cubicles, and hot hot hot showers! The inside section is all magnolia walls and pine wood, with homely little touches like a little VW campervan ornament and such like. It looks brand new, was spotless and very well maintained. There was a hairdryer and even hair straighteners! They really have made a huge effort to make it welcoming and cosy, and with those little touches they really have thought of everything.
It's just south of Carinish village, North Uist and is just off the main road, A865. The site has flat pitches for motor homes and overlooks a tidal bay with views of Benbecula and South Uist.
There's also a bunkhouse if you don't have your own accommodation with you, and a very sweet traditionally styled outhouse building with kitchen facilities of washing machine, tumble drier, sinks, microwave and dining table.
There are electrical hook up points, water for refilling your motor home, recycling points, and chemical toilet disposal points. We couldn't find a grey water disposal point, which was a bit surprising, so there maybe is one and we just didn't notice. They also had free wi-fi! Given that I had not a single G never mind 3G or 4G for days, this was very welcome.
The view is not outstanding, but it is still very beautiful, and we very much enjoyed our stay here. read more
