I love that their "wares" isle is always color coordinated and their glass section is always popping. I have weirdly spotted some super awesome kid finds (and amazing supermarket play setup and an antique dollhouse) but alas I don't have kids yet, so I would have no use for those things. I cannot speak to the current condition of all the others, but the State College Y is easily in the best material condition of any Y in my life. Everything seems to have been refurbished or replaced recently, no broken down anything, no roof leaks, no broken tiles or pavement. .is this really a Y? They just finished redoing the locker rooms, new everything as far as I can tell. The Therapy pool is a balmy 90F, which is great for a recent Miami transplant, and the lap pool is a not too shabby 80F. Pickleball seems to have taken over the basketball courts but that is the way of things now i guess. All the resistance and exercise equipment are there, maybe not the best but very functional...and helpful staff nearby. It's nice to what was old is now new.

The guys at the front desk have always been helpful to make sure I'm renting the tools that should work best for my job. I've never had an issue with broken equipment or tools that didn't work. If I take something home that didn't work, I just return it and try something else and they reset the rental time. I've even used them for parts on some of my own tools/equipment. If you're not sure what you need just stop in and ask. They won't try to up sell you into something you can't use or don't know how to use.

We also snagged a great little pewter Nittany Lion charm to go with the bag too. Doug…read moregave us a thorough explanation of the cleaning process given the type of wool rug we had and the issues that would present with the dog odor. What we got back two weeks later was a beautifully clean odor free rug with a new backing on it. Doug did an excellent job and when the backing unexpectedly came off he took care of it free of charge.
