The Friday night that we arrived there a bad storm came through and wiped the power out which we lost heat and of course, the electricity around 11 PM to roughly 5:30 am which made for a very cold night with no extra blankets. A giant tree fell on top of our cabin, I have to say it was very frightening, and my husband, nor myself got any sleep that night, not knowing if we were safe in that cabin. In the morning I proceeded to call the front desk and make them aware of the tree that had fallen and asked if they could send someone over to check out the structure of the cabin. I also stated that I felt we should receive some compensation because we basically lost a night due to the fear of what had happened to the cabin not to mention it was freezing cold.. They did state they would give me $100 back which I think was not acceptable considering we paid 300 a night. I waited approximately two hours and a young man came looked up at the cabin and basically told us he knew nothing about structure and trees, but he would try to find someone to look at it. Two hours later someone from a tree service pulled up in the road about 100 yards away from the cabin parked for about 20 seconds and drove away. We never heard from front desk again to let us know if the structure was safe and they left the tree on the cabin all day and the following night. Needless to say, it was not relaxing in any way shape or form and they obviously didn't care how we felt about the situation. I will say they did offer us to move to a cabin across the way but at that point if I had to pack everything up and move, I was going home. We specifically picked Evergreen because it's the cabin we had been staying in for years. They are just lucky that we were not injured because things could have been way worse for Tall Timbers. Let me add there was an eight foot overhang on the metal roof that could have let go at any moment... had to be cautious to stay away from the edge of the building!!!

Located deep in the heart of a quaint mountain town, called Colebrook, Bear Rock Suites us in the…read morevery north of New Hampshire.... if you brought your passport, you can literally drive half an hour and visits Canada too! This lodge is a picture postcard of New England, surrounded by beautiful mountains, and only a quick drive to a small park with a waterfall that looks straight out of a vacation video. One drawback is the cold weather. It legit snows here straight through May. But, if you love to snowmobile, ATV and/or dirtbike, this place may have the longest season in the country. One thing that is NOT "picturesque" is the main road that runs right through the center of Colebrook. It is a main highway frequented by 18 wheelers carrying goods across the country. Stephen King's sister lives, or lived, here and I think this might be the road featured in pet Sematary. THE DEAL: if you love the quiet of the mountains, Colebrook is your kind of town, and the Bear Rock Suites is the best place to stay in it. Simply stay off the main highway for video-worthy views!

The Errol Motel is a great cozy motel that is in really great shape and the location was critical…read morefor us last week since my truck alternator stopped working a few miles from town (in the middle of the thirteen mile woods on our way to Saddleback to go skiing for the week) and we eeked our way to Errol and found the Errol Motel when we really needed a place to stay. The owner's, Michelle and Matt, were some of the friendliest, nicest people that I have ever met. They helped us out in our hour of need in ways I can't ever describe!! They put us in touch with Norm (another great guy) who had the only garage in the area and he was able to fix our truck once he was able to get the parts a day later. They bended over backwards in amazing ways to help us and they basically saved our vacation. We didn't even miss a day of skiing!!! I will never forget them!!! It is so great to know there still are some really nice people in this world who want to help others. I highly recommend a stay at the Errol Motel if you want a great mountain experience and you want to meet some great people. Their dog, Bailey will be glad to meet you too!! Five Stars to Michelle, Matt and the Errol Motel!!

(I was thinking about buying a truck and MC is definatley Chevy Silverado territory.) Comfy mattress for a great nap. And probably the one time of year where an AC window unit was a must. MC was a great retreat at the start of Covid. I would consider going back to complete the circle after its all over. Owners were great and helpful and not overly attentive.

There are 3 main parts of this property and I will review them as such…read more First is the motel. The rooms have all the basics and are comfortable with two beds. Wood paneling, dated but functional décor. I liked having a microwave, mini fridge, and the sheets and towels were clean. However, there was an extremely strong mildew smell in the room. Our travel mates in the room next door had it too and you could even smell it outside if the wind below just right. The carpet felt damp and one room had a window that could not be closed all the way. No A/C, but the fan provided was adequate. Easy parking out front or in back, and room for trailers. Second is the store. Priced fairly, well stocked, has all the essentials you'd need without going into town. Great place to stop while on the sled of ATV. Lastly is the restaurant. It is small and busy so get there early. The food was excellent, large portions and an overall good value. The service was efficient, food came in a reasonable time, the cook and waitstaff made extra effort to make it special for the kids in our group. The rooms at the country club were only a few bucks more, but were booked. I'll give them a shot next time due to the mildew rooms here.

We've been coming here for several years. They have a great lodge, great snowmobiling, while…read moreeverything was without snow this year, it was good in the northern woods of Maine. They are great for long weekends or week stays. You'll see herds of white tail deer in the winter, literally 20-60 at a time. At night while you're outside by the camp fire you can hear the coyotes talking with each other. It's a different kind of quiet most of the time that you can't often experience, it's noticeable and a huge treat. We're looking forward to coming back again next year. Canoeing and kayaking down the river is just treat very relaxing. We've come up on other times in the summer and those in the family who love fishing were totally impressed and had a wonderful time.
