Good luck! 3 men came out to move a minimal amount of furniture within my home. I now have to call back a painter to repaint the hallway stairs to the lower level. Scuff and furniture stain marks on both sides of the stairway along with knicked up woodwork on the door jam, frame work. They thought they could jam a 3 cushion sofa through the doorway without removing the legs first. The second floor was also damaged on the door jam when they moved a desk out. When the move was over, I said what are we going to do about the paint damage (just had the lower level painted a week before the movers came) and the guy said that they took care of it with a "magic sponge." I said lets look and I actually think they did more damage rubbing the sponge to a point of smearing the damage more. read more

They are either way too busy or unprofessional not sure. Filled out an online request which prompted them to call me, I explained we were moving out of state, we were asked to fill out an online inventory of our items to be moved, it took about 20 minutes to complete or to go over all my items over the phone. Moovers responded to my inventory submission with an email request to do a video inventory instead, I responded back with my availability to Karen W. who then responded back the next day asking to do a video call in 20 minutes (noon). I asked for 1pm which she agreed to. 1 pm comes along and I am ghosted for the video call. Karen W. texts later asking for a new time for another video meet. Moving companies have a bad rep as is, this only adds to it. With all of the great reviews I was hoping for the same experience but like I started with, either they are too busy or have let themselves slide and are no longer professional. Good luck. read more

I thought these guys were reasonably priced (the price was about the same as other movers, but they didn't nickel and dime on tape, plastic wrap rolls, and wardrobe boxes), efficient, and careful with my belongings. Two things that I didn't like: #1. Three movers were supposed to show up, and only two did (which caused me to run an hour and a half over my move-in window at my new building). #2. I ran out to grab coffee about a block away from my place, and when I was gone one of the movers decided that was his time to blow up the bathroom. Wow, these guys are great! Daniel, Cesar and Juan arrived on time (15 minutes early!) and communicated all along the way. Making sure to ask me what my needs and wants were. They treated every single one of my pieces of furniture with care - they wrapped EVERY PIECE OF FURNATURE, nothing was damaged, chipped, bent or scrapped...including my walls, doors and floors. I used Moovers for my move last Friday the 13th first thing innthe morning. I had a crew of 3 men moving my apt in the West Loop, to another apt a few blocks east in the same neighborhood. We have used Moovers Chicago twice now and we have yet to be disappointed about anything. They quoted a 12:00 - 3:00 arrival time and showed up around 12:20. They were fast and effective and even offered to move items that I had forgotten to include in the original quote. They used more materials which ended up saving time and therefore money for me! Enrique took charge - asking questions about what to move and where and explained how his team (Abner, Ismael, and Sebastian) would work to move our stuff and even offered to help and expertise about some things they encountered in our new house. The pre-move instructions were very helpful and they were able to secure a parking permit from the city of Chicago in advance due to the impossible parking situation on our new street. I am giving the company 3 stars because the movers got the work done but it seems like they were not as careful as they could have been because they left a lot of noticeable scratch marks on the side walls. The second thing that they did seem like a classic bait and switch. I asked them on the call if they provided floor protection. Originally, they said they did charge to provide floor protection but then said they would not charge me anything. The lady on the call even mentioned she put a note in the system and will let the helpers/movers know. When the guy arrived, he said he was aware of the floor protection and placed it out. At the end, however, he charged me for it and he would not budge even though I was told there would be no cost. Note: I have moved 4 other times and I have never been charged for floor protection. I am okay with paying if it was agreed upon at the beginning and I would have continued searching to find competitive rates. read more

I am so grateful that I used Moovers for my Chicago to Boulder move. I had already used them to move from my Chicago apartment into their warehouse storage facility - and it was perfect (See my review from Feb 2023). I was originally going to go with another company for the move from storage out to Boulder as Moovers was a bit more pricey. Karen Welch, who has helped me with both of my moves (and is amazing), asked to see my quote from the other company and pointed out some red flags. Ultimately, Moovers was able to come down on the price a bit if I adjusted my move dates - which I did! My move to Boulder was perfect as they guarantee the date of arrival - as opposed to other movers who give you a 3-5 window. Ervin and Edgar actually beat me to my new place and the entire move-in took under 3 hrs. I would highly recommend Moovers to anyone moving in or out of the Chicago area.
