Fantastic team here. They handled my case with care and made sure they were looking out for my best interest! I worked with several members of the team there. Sky and Angel got things started, and Ricarda helped me wrap everything up in the end neatly with a bow! Of course Lisa Moran made sure it was all taken care of as well. Will absolutely seek their help should I ever need it again. I just finalized my divorce after working with the Moran Law Firm after being recommended by a friend they helped with custody issues. I am extremely happy with the service I was provided, especially by my paralegal, Angel. While it was an extremely difficult and stressful time, I appreciated the hand holding and explanations of the paperwork and process from everyone at the firm. Lisa was a great attorney, and I recommend her but if you ever go through this process, you'll learn that the paralegal is really your point of contact and cheerleader. 2 years ago my husband went into a very fierce and fiery custody battle. Being in the state of Texas he didn't think it was even possible to try to get 50/50 custody. He found Lisa after a horrible first time around with another attorney for his divorce. He met consulted with her and came home saying she was willing to help him. After NUMEROUS ups and downs and going through multiple ringers she won us sole custody of his kids. During these years we suffered heartache and frustrations. I live in Fort Worth and met Lisa Moran 16 years ago when she worked at Strasburger & Price in Dallas. I was the personal banker for the firm. She was a young attorney then but such a go getter. I asked her to come to Dallas to handle my divorce. The last thing I wanted going through my divorce was more stress. I can't say enough good things. I needed help with a matter that was outside the box for most attorneys. When I went to LML I was prepared to be told I'd need to go somewhere else. To my surprise, they accepted my case. Everyone I worked with was sharp and knew about my case. I can't tell you the piece of mind it brought to me knowing I was in good hands. I would not recommend this firm unless you have money to burn! I hired Moran law to represent my contested divorce and they got pretty close to 8000 and I hadn't even gotten temporary support orders in my hand signed by the judge! Haven also lied to me about the reason my temporary court hearing was cancelled when I found out later after I had fired them.Lisa even filed a motion to withdraw stating I was hard to work with after I fired her and sent final payment and they wanted me to sign it at least a half dozen times when in fact I wouldn't because it was the second lie they came up with in my case just to save themselves. If you need a divorce attorney please keep looking as I hired them based on their good reviews only to find out they are negligent in helping you unless you keep adding funds for their work that they promote yet don't do but very little. They probably paid people to write their reviews just for the sake of looking like A wonderful law firm when in fact they are thee worst! Lisa told me she would try to refund some of my money so I could find another attorney and I never received a full statement of my charges from beginning to end that I asked for either.They totally misrepresented me and in return I didn't end up in a good position because of it! They lied to me twice, didn't do what they said they were going too and I finally fired them! Yes I fired them and then Lisa filed a motion to withdraw I refused to sign because that too was a lie. Do yourself a favor and keep searching you'll get better representation and probably a much better cost to go with it. This firm will rape you in expecnces and not even send an itemized statement as to what your being charged! They are concerned about money and looking good rather then standing up for their client. I never even had a set down consultation with Lisa before she went to the judge assuming she knew things that were correct! I can't even begin to start how terrible my divorce was and Moran law made it even worse! Please don't settle with this firm. They will only do for you what they believe your worth in dollars. Keep searching is my best advise! read more

I hired Lisa Moran and Sarina Hager to represent me and my 3 year old son in a child custody modification suit that was initiated by my son's mother. Over the 9 months it took to finish the case this firm exceeded my expectations! They were very attentive to my concerns and the best interests of my son. My custody went from a 50/50 custody order to me having primary custody in the final orders. I was able to reach my attorneys at pretty much any hour of the day, if needed. They were very generous with their time and helped to build a very strong case to protect my son going forward. They are certainly not the cheapest attorneys in turn but, you get what you pay for when it comes to that. Cheap is not good and good is not cheap! Even after the final orders of my case they have stayed in touch and helped with some of the aftermath as the dust has settled from a very hectic and trying year. If you are looking for a truly helpful and dedicated team then these are the people you want! God loving and God fearing attorneys! read more

Friendly office staff yet ensuring my case was taken care of in a timely fashion required frequent follow-ups and reminders. The final document drafted had multiple errors. I will need to hire another firm to fix the issues, ultimately doubling my costs. I question how my final bill was determined given I was specifically told nothing was done on my case for a number of weeks yet the final invoice did not reflect that. If I knew then what I know now I would have taken my business elsewhere and saved myself weeks of misery. read more

I met with her and 'my great friend that is the supervisor at CPS and hiring me gives you a personal 'in' at the organization.' My ex was required to get an ABEL evaluation that basically assesses your likelihood to be a predator. I, legally and morally, was supposed to give my side of what went on. She obstructed me, her own client from doing so. She had my husband's completed ABEL and psych eval in her hands Sept. 15 and told me point blank 'DO NOT CONTACT 'THE EVALUATOR YOURSELF, I WILL HANDLE IT' is what she told me repeatedly. She never contacted the police or the evaluator and she and the amicus both colluded to prevent me and my children our basic rights as humans on Earth. It gets even worse. The day of court with my ex, I go up to her office for what I think is prep. She sits me down and tells me he's getting unsupervised visitation. I ask how could that be possible when the predator evaluation wasn't even complete, to my knowledge. She said she and the other lawyers basically sat down and decided there wasn't enough to keep him from unsupervised (after they intentionally created 'not enough'). I was shattered in this moment. I thought I was walking in to a game plan and I walked into this, about 3 hours before court. She clasped her hands across from me and with a horribly empty look, watched me wail for minutes. She told me I didn't have to go to court and she could just answer/agree to things for me. I attended court that afternoon virtually, as I was too distraught to be inside of the court. I watched the amicus and judge congratulate her for her good work. Oh, my ex brought a courtroom full of people that morning and my lawyer didn't call a single witness or person to be be there for me/ with me. My lawyer never contacted any of my potential witnesses. My lawyer never told the judge anything from my side (which apparently is what they are supposed to do, I hear) so the judge, after getting new counsel, had never heard any of my allegations until after I fired her but she already threw the dynamite into my and my children's lives. $10k for a family law retainer, of an unemployed woman, fleeing child abuse and domestic violence, and to then do all of this to her, seemingly with spite or venom is unfathomable for me. The Tyler landscape for lawyers is bad, bad. Please research and research harder. She coasts on the name of Beau Sinclair. 'Sinclair is great IF they are on your side'

I needed up doing all the legwork Found mobile notaries in Wisconsin (2) a title company up there to help and we paid the bill to do all the work. Then her paperwork was screwed up and we had to get it renotarized in Wisconsin and pay the additional fee's. It was just a complete joke of a firm. Arrogant attorney, arrogant paralegal. On top of that when the paperwork was FEDEXED down to their office from the title company with signed notarized signatures, They didn't file it. We didn't find it out until it was time to close the property and when this "law office" was contacted they didn't have it, didn't have a copy of it, didn't know how to locate it. On top of that this paralegal and the attorney sent some ridiculously stupid email with some issue that they didn't appreciate us sending someone to their office to sign an agreement. We had already had an preliminary agreement and meeting on site with this individual so one again the completely incompetent in my opinion law firm again had no idea what in the world they were talking about and we responded by asking them not to send up stupid emails again. The other thing is you really donny have any idea if the work is being done by her personally or through the law firm. "Convenient. Complete joke of a law firm in my opinion. I felt much better and even told my family I felt he was prepared. The day of, he was very communicative. Encouraging and positive. We talked some things through before and seemed to have me relaxed. Court went much better than I even thought it would. He made light remarks to ease the court, was extremely polite to the other family, judge, and attorney. He was stern and even stepped in when he saw I needed help. I was extremely pleased with the outcome! The judge was extremely fair to both the dad and I, considering everything. We have used the awesome team at Moran Law firm on 2 occasions regarding custody of my step-daughter. I can not say enough good things about them. They are all rock stars. They never gave up the fight to keep our baby safe. They never waivered in helping us. But we never felt like they were wasting time or money. I was arrested and charged with an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon felony in Nov. 2021…read more Now an older man, had raised a good family, having no criminal background, built a successful, well known local/statewide business, I was literally terrified. I had contacted and met with 3 of the most recommended, lawyers in Smith County. But I wasn't convinced that they truly had my back in this case. Frustrated, I read Erick Platten's web page bio and knew he seemed to have a strategic, well thought out plan of attack/defense mentality. I contacted him the day before my arraignment to appear in court. He said, man you have an emergency situation, I can be there to represent you in court tomorrow. So I rolled dice with Erick for my future, paid him over the phone and met him the next day in court for the first time. The judge, and DA presented the charges to us for the first time to review. They looked really incriminating but I knew they were not fact. Erick absolutely knew how to handle it and put my wife, the only witness/victim on the stand to testify right there. Later I found out that allowing us to put a witness on the stand in arraignment is very rare. Calling up witnesses usually comes later or in a trial. Erick showed up that day with a let's get this dismissed today mentality. But the DA here rarely goes down easy, Erick stated this over and over during our talks. He stated; "they know me WELL and they know they better have their facts straight, I'm in this to win this for you". Erick holds his law cards close to his chest (like a seasoned poker champion) and plays them at exactly the right time. I found that the Smith County DA has an everyone is guilty as charged, hang-em-high mentality no matter how clean of a life you have led in the past many years of life. They do NOT care who's life they ruin, guilty or not! I had raised a large, loving productive family and we are big local supporters of many charities. I was a good citizen! They don't care about that Erick explained. They will indict a "Ham Sandwich"! And with no review of the evidence they had planned to do just that. Until Erick played a few of his cards and convinced them not to indict me the day before they were going to go before the Grand Jury. Just the way they do things in a Grand Jury hearing ought to be illegal, we don't have the right to be there to defend ourselves. They roll the cases through, indict you, then it's trial by jury time all right in front of my peers in our town of Tyler. They could ruin a person's reputation even if their not convicted in trial. From the very beginning Erick's mission was to get ALL charges dropped, PERIOD! No plea bargain, no probation, Erick would have none of this and knew EXACTLY how to play the legal game for my life and future. I must admit, I got very anxious many times. I would call and or text Erick and his calming response was immediate!!!! He always stated, trust me, I have YOUR back, don't worry about this! And I must say he did. In only 5 months he got this dismissed, no hearing, no more fines, the entire nightmare of facing a potential sentence from minimum 2 years - 20 maximum was over. Just like that it was over. Erick had his timing, defense negotiations/strategies completed precisely and flawlessly and on my 63rd birthday it was completely over with a phone call. Erick has a great attitude, he's personable, he knows his job and he cares greatly about his clients future, We matter greatly to Mr. Platten! In business I have attorneys. But none quilt like Mr. Erick Platten...THANK YOU SIR!!!!! This man has the experience, the passion and I believe Erick is one of the GREATS of Defense law!
