Protip: - Make reservations beforehand as this place is packed during peak times. - Not a speakeasy type of place, more on loud trance music. - Read the menu and know what to order before sitting down. Overall the cocktail drinks and atmosphere was great but the services was a little lacking due to extended wait times to get our drinks back (around 10 mins). The ambience is similar to a typical combined indoor/outdoor bar that plays loud trance and hip hop music. Wasn't conducive of great conversations as you would have to talk over the music.

Very fun cocktail bar with delicious drinks. They have a great location in Beyoglu. If you are lucky, get a place to sit on the outside. They have a long menu with many varied cocktails. I tried Moss the Boss. It was a vodka based cocktail with peach puree. The presentation was very appealing and it tasted amazing. I was able to taste the alcohol at the right amount. The name of the bar is chosen very smartly because at a place with delicious cocktails like these, you can actually drink 5 and more. I highly recommend 5 cocktails because it is a great bar to meet up with your friends, have a few drinks and enjoy your time.

Excellent location, courteous staff, perfect drinks and example art food are just some of the things I can recall from our recent date night celebrating our 19th anniversary. The music was just right, lighting was perfect where one could read the menu, yet allowed for a nice romantic setting. Mehmet Ginar waited on us and took care of the minutest detail from getting my wife an extra layer of blanket to suggesting some local breads we have to try while in Istanbul. He also provided some good tips to complement our itinerary. Did I mention the view of the Bosphorus??? STUNNING...

Solid classic and modern cocktails, each with something 'more' which in the case of my negroni was some sort of rose-flavour. Not too bad.

I came here twice, once for cocktails, once for coffee…read more Let's start with the cocktails. I'm a fan of a really good cocktail. In every city I go to I try and find a really good cocktail place, the kind of place they is doing their own recipes and is doing them well, or the place that does classics really well. I think we should aspire to get the best cocktails we can in life, and that relies largely on the bartenders being great at what they do. I skimmed the menu for cocktails and boy was I disappointed. There wasn't anything on the menu that piqued my interest. Some classics, some semi original, but nothing too creative. Most of the drinks looked like a combination of a few liqueurs, but no syrups or other potential flavor profiles. After skimming the menu, I asked if they had mescal or could make me a mescal drink, and they didn't have it. I ended up going for a drink with whiskey and bitters and a few other ingredients. I was not expecting much, and what I got tasted like it was whiskey with some bitters for $15. My friend got a rose flavored gin drink and it was quite sweet and nothing that was good enough for me to remember the ingredients. In general the menu felt like combinations of liqueurs and not like a cocktail menu. Our one drink was up and, given that the menu didn't excite me or my guest, we departed after paying nearly 30 lira a drink. If I compare this experience to an experience I had A few weeks earlier at a cocktail bar in Copenhagen where I got a completely original mescal drink from an inspired bartender, I cannot put them in the same ballpark. The Copenhagen cocktail was miles ahead of this one. Round 2, we return during the day for coffee. A semi sunny winter day in Istanbul, my friend and I are in need of a good cappuccino to start our day off right. We decide to try the place with the slightly disappointing cocktails and see if their coffee is as good as what the reviews say. We walk in, order 2 cappuccinos and 2 croissants. The cappuccinos are served at an absurdly high temperature, much closer to 95°C than 75°C. They are hot enough to completely burn your mouth with a sip. I was rather astounded by this, as the temperature of the milk was clearly much too hot. Anyone who had served that should have known the milk had been over steamed and started over. The milk temperature being as high as it was meant the texture of the milk had been abused at this point as well, and that left a sort of buttery consistency in the mouth. All together not a pleasing cup to drink, and violating a lot of my understanding of a quality cappuccino. The espresso might have been interesting, but the cappuccino's temperature and texture completely masked that. We finished our drinks, paid more than we would have at kronotrop down the street for a better prepared cappuccino, and left. I resolved to write the review because my experiences don't match the other reviewers here. Give this place a try if you'd like but my experience was less than stellar for both cocktails and coffee, and I would not recommend it to friends.

The restaurant…read moreis located at the rooftop of a building that is only a short walk away from Galatasaray Lisesi, right in the middle of Istiklal street. The restaurant has a very decent view, but to get a table near the window, you need to reserve. Especially on weekends. Also we went there in early autumn and it was a bit chilly so make sure to bring an extra layer. We tried the mango chilly margarita and it was very good. It accompanied the tacos and enchilada well. For dinner we had the fish taco, the chicken taco with pico de gallo and red enchilada. I assume they make their own tortillas as they were very authentic and almost the same as the ones in Mexico. However the fish, somehow, had a very local, very Turkish taste. I don't know how but it gave the taco a Turk-Mex twist. It was very good, we just didn't get the authentic Mexican taste from the Taco despite the good job they made with the tortilla. The enchilada too was wrapped in a great tasting tortilla. While the meet was a bit dry it was all in all a good enchilada. The service was good, attentive, kind and quick. My problem with other Mexican places in Istanbul was the poor quality of service. Los Altos does not have that problem. I think this could be a good spot for a date, or if you wanna go for something different with friends.

The ambiance here is beautiful - hidden in a small alley on a road beside the Galata Tower, there are lights and music that fill up the narrow path here. Outside seating is super quaint, and the inside of the restaurant is nice too, decorated in a very traditional way. We started off with a shepherds salad because I was in desperate need of fibre after two days of straight protein and carbs . It was a simple Mediterranean style salad, with tomato, onions, cucumbers, and parsley. We then shared a chicken shish and, heavily influenced by the meal we had at Antiochia the day prior, a kebab durum. The durum was good - crispy and meaty - but I think we had the best at Antiochia. It lacked a bit of juice. The chicken shish was delicious though; it was tender, moist, and flavourful. The real star, however, was the kunefe. This dessert was by far the best of its kind we've had in Istanbul! It wasn't too sweet, the inside was creamy (and more mild than some other variations we tried), but it was the clotted cream on top and the pistachio crumble that elevated this to another level. The cream made the dish super buttery and fragrant, adding complexity. Would definitely come again just for the kunefe!
