Delicious hot breakfast in a local cafe location! Good coffee, breakfast skillet, and the cinnamon roll French Toast was so good! Fun to listen to the locals discuss the world while here.

Its ok. I believe the locals are helping the reviews because my omelette was good but something I could just stay home and make for cheaper. Also the side of hash browns I ordered looked an awful lot like home fries and burnt Service was very good though and its a very quaint little restaurant. Maybe it was an off day, Ill give it another shot some day.

This place is amazing! They have great food and gluten free options: bread, pancakes, wraps. Service was great, everyone helps to make a great experience. I had the skillet and gluten free pancake and it was delicious! Can't wait to come back for lunch! Wish I had remembered to take pictures of food!

Cute little cadet in the sweet town of Dimondale. We had a family weekend and all wanted breakfast. We called Lory and she had delicious breakfast for all in 10 minutes! Lots of selection on the menu. Classic eggs, meat and potatoes, pancakes, waffles, biscuits and gravy. Made to order donuts! Only open for breakfast and lunch. I am told on Thursday you can order fresh made pot pie. You must order on Wednesday so she knows how many to make! We will definitely return when we are back in Michigan.

Simple and comfortable food. This was a staple restaurant for many many years, and when the owners retired and sold, a dear village person bought it up to keep the towns favorite go to spot around. The new owner has done a fabulous job keeping some of the old (the counter seats, donuts, some staff) and brought in enough new things to refresh it. The interior is bright and clean. Simple lovely touches such as old church pews and conversational art pieces make it homey feeling. The food is good. Nothing too over the top or over done. I recommend trying the homemade cinnamon rolls either grilled or as French toast. The waffles have some kind of simple magic in them while still seemingly simple. And don't forget the bread. Salt risen is a simple twist on a white bread. I love it with a little jam on it. If I was to offer any advice to the cooks it would be in regards to the sausage gravy. Homemade and served on lots of yummy options, it lacks two things that are essential in my opinion. 1) cook off the flour taste. 2) add a little seasoning That said, I eat it. It's ok. But I'm looking for a bit more. I will return. This was my third trip and I have yet to try the lunch menu.

First, the location. I had doggo with me so went through the drive through. There is signage, but you still have to look for it. Drive through is on the back side of the building. Don't be scared, it was an easy process. The hardest part was figuring out what to order! Second, Service was quick and friendly but the speaker is a bit quiet, so be sure to turn your radio down so y'all can hear each other. The price! I ordered the #1 chicken and waffles plate and added on a small ice caramel coffee for a grand total of UNDER $12. That's extremely reasonable, imo. Finally, I ordered the chicken and waffles that I'd been staring at the past few weeks. The chicken tenders were crispy, hot, and perfectly seasoned so as not to overshadow the waffles. The waffle was fresh and hot, not too sweet, and complemented the chicken and syrup. The iced caramel coffee, while sweet, didn't make me feel like I was just drinking sugar. I could still taste the coffee, and it wasn't bitter either! So, basically, don't miss a visit to Elsa's!! So yummy and a local business. Support local!!

Upon arriving in the small town of Concord (population 1,200) after the first 11 miles, we were thrilled to see the breakfast cafe on Main Street open for business. My wife and I have been loyal customers of this little cafe when bike riding through Concord over the past 10 years. During that period, it was known by two other names: the Silver Spoon Cafe and the Concord Cafe. Unfortunately, like so many small restaurants, this eatery closed its doors during the year of the pandemic. Riding up today, we noticed the familiar purple awning on Main Street still proclaims "The Concord Cafe". However, after changing hands and getting an interior facelift, it re-opened 30 days ago (May of 2021) as Mel's Place! After walking in the door, we quickly met the new owner Mel...short for Melinda. We enjoyed chatting with her about the renovation she did in exposing the hundred year-old brick in the minimalist and spotless dining room. We then got down to business ordering a pair of Veggie Omelettes with sliced tomatoes and raisin toast while nursing our fresh brewed cups of hot coffee. Our breakfasts at Mel's were spectacular...just like they had been over the years when we had patronized this small business under previous owners. For this Yelper, a delicious breakfast halfway through a 22-mile bike ride is a great motivator. Based on the excellent quality food and friendly small-town service, I expect Mel's Place to quickly build a solid reputation among the many recreational bikers that frequent the Falling Waters Trail. Five stars all day long.
