The library is linked up to the BookMyne app which lets you put a massive amount of books on hold from what looks to be an extensive library network. These days I usually have 8 or more items waiting for me on the shelf whenever I go in thanks to the app! With the self check out they have here you can walk in, grab your stuff waiting for you off the shelf, check your books out yourself and be back in the car within a few minutes. There is a decent sized DVD collection here, with everything from kid's stuff to TV series and documentaries. The CD collection is quite large too with a good variety of everything and it seems to be updated quite frequently too. I've picked up a lot of travel books from here when preparing for vacations and they seem to have a lot of new stuff in that area too. My favourite section is the comics/graphic novels area. Tucked away near the kids and young adults, I'm usually the only one past puberty looking at them, which means I can usually get a nice haul to read! Half of the stuff on shelf is your standard DC & Marvel with the rest being manga and smaller label books. It's also updated very often, with lots of 2012 releases being found here. There always seems to be some sort of community class happening in the back of the library, there are plenty of computers around that you can use and there is even a wall of Playstations and XBoxes that are always in use. With friendly staff who are always able to help out, I'm going to miss heading here when we move away from the area and hope I can find another library like it!

Clayton I feel provides the perfect balance between relaxation and research, fun and work. Great for the young family especially with maternal health centre and Dental and community health services are at the back and the other end is the Sport and Recreation Centre. Lalor is no ordinary library folks, it is the hub of the Lalor community and appeals to every age demographic. Drop by the large and colourful space any day of the week and something will be happening. Yes the library has the usual selection of books, magazines, DVDs and Cd's but it also has Italian, Greek, Spanish, Vietnamese and Chinese collections. Annie the Children's librarian hosts energetic story times, sometimes to an audience of a hundred kids. Noisy? Yes. This is not the library to enjoy silent study, head to near by Mill Park for that! The range of adult activities and events appeals to the multicultural community of Lalor, think seniors club, cooking demo's, book club, language cafe to name just a few. If you want to learn how to use computers, Facebook or itunes visit the information desk and book into a computer class or just ask for IT extraordinaire Natasha. Life long friends meet up a chat over the daily papers, teens relax on the couches and families visit the toy library. Lalor library is for everyone. The staff are awesome and clearly have fun. They also have the council located inside if you have questions about the area. However the only drawback is the Wi-Fi is very slow if you're using council Wi-Fi, and entry to the classes are extremely strict. I wanted to take a resume class, but they would not let me in on account of my age. :/ Otherwise, I am very please with what the city of Melbourne has done to turn this library into a community gathering spot, where various films and sports games are screened. The outside TV fosters community and togetherness. Every city should have a library like this one.

This is not an alien invasion taking place on the outskirts of Melbourne suburbs, rather it's Mill Park library! This huge building is a purpose built library with more space then Star Trek. This building is seriously huge. As well as ample space you will find a fantastic range of books, magazines, DVDs and Cd's from the Yarra Plenty Regional Library collection. You will also find a quiet study room with sound proof glass and plenty of tables, a multimedia room and a genealogy room! The varied free events program makes the most of the space. The large children's area is host to many story times and school holiday events. Jack the Community Liaison runs all kind of programs from classes and workshops to sci-fi clubs and cooking demonstrations. The staff are happy to show you around and help you with all your technology and literary needs. Trust me, no question is too random for library staff!

Hello, heart of a residential neighborhood... Enter a FAB NEIGHBORHOOD LIBRARY with parking lot for about a dozen or so?.....duly impressed by how clean, helpful, and charming this shady place of learning is! The inside is rather modern, with a dedicated youth section. It was here that I helped tutor my relative and tried everything in the book to instill in him a love ( okok..at least a like) of learning. Great services offered...classes of all sorts. There are nice separate rooms for studying. If i recall correctly, even an outside area in the back. Library card gets you wifi access. Enter password given.
