Visited here during my stay in St Albans…read more The storefront is rather small, the first time I passed by I thought it was an antique shop or something, but later when this place popped up on my search for dinner, as one of the few places opening till late on a Monday night, I took this as the perfect opportunity to introduce my husband to Moroccan food. The gentleman who served us was really nice, walking us through the menu and answered the myriad of questions we had. Everything sounded delicious! The portion turned out to be very generous. Honestly one entree is enough to feed two. A shame to have so much leftover as the food was so delicious, but as tourists we couldn't pack it for another meal. My husband totally loved the lamb shank: succulent and flavorful after a long cooking. The vegetables with couscous was delicious too. I guess the tagine really does some magic to the cooking. If you are interested in trying something different while in St Albans, step in here and be transported to a a different world!

LM is a little piece of Morocco in the Roman town of St Albans, the service was slow but it was worth the wait. Really nice hummus plate and a fantastic veggie tangine. Together with some Moroccan beer it was a very good choice. It really is an interesting little place its well worth the visit. You can call ahead and book the private booth, but its pretty hot in there!

The staff have always looked after me (most obvs because I was like their weekly bringing a gang with me each time lol). Their food is lovely and shisha is BOOM. It's the only place where parting with my money is okay for the experience - considering how expensive one is in Central London. From Irn Bru to Skittles, they've got a crazy range of flavours and so expect this place to always be busy. The sooner you get here, the better. Oh and I went here for New Years since they held an event, I danced my socks off in the later hours at this but it was so packed, my granny self probably can't handle it anymore :D

Ever since my trip to Marrakech I have developed a new appreciation for a good tagine so having the…read morechance to visit this newly refurbished restaurant/ shisha bar was great. I went there on Saturday afternoon for dinner. We had the lamb and the kofta tagines, the kofta was amazing, the lamb was ok but felt a little bit under seasoned. As sides we got the dolma and the calamari. The dolmas melted in your mouth and were pretty good (served warm as they should be). The calamari was a bit harder to chew so as a Greek person I would rate it ok but nothing great. The side sauce the starters came with was great though. After the food we decided to try the cocktails. I had the Guilty which tasted like alcoholic dessert, so right up my street, and I also tried the fireman, good for whiskey drinkers bit not really my cup of tea. In terms of atmosphere I think the restaurant tries to be more posh than it is but the massive screens with the football on everywhere you look are incongruous with the atmosphere they are trying to create. There is also a semi- outside area for shisha which feels more Moroccan but it was full of football fans and smoke. In general I think it's good enough but maybe not as authentic as it could have been and it could do with a few more authentic Moroccan dishes in the menu.

After being in London for only a day and being a newcomer, I had lunch at a place right across the street with the most horrible customer service I've ever had (see my review on Tuk Tuk Thai Noodle House). Anyway, this place was great. Though, I don't really get why this place is classified as Moroccan because the menu doesn't seem Moroccan to me. Like I said, I had the steak (it was good) and it came with peas and carrots (two of my most-hated veggies) and I actually enjoyed the veggies. The salad left something to be desired. Their service is prompt and they refill my water right when I finish my glass (this is important to me). I will come back to this place and try their Pasta Carbonara because the table next to me ordered it and it looked/smelled delicious.

La Cabana is one of my favcourite restaurants in the area and eating here is a totally memorable experience. Every time I go to La Cabana I'm always feel like I've travelled to some exotic place like Marrakesh. The lanterns, tent, cushions helps to give La Cabana a really authentic feel. The food is really good too and not expensive which is always a bonus for me! I love rice dishes so this place is perfect for me because most dishes are serviced with rice. The mixed grill is a really good value for money at £12.95 and the lamb tagine is delicious. La Cabana is a great restaurant with excellent food, brillant service and a lively atmosphere! What more could you ask for in a restaurant?

Walking into a dark but very inviting Mediterranean hot spot not really knowing what to expect I was greeted by nothing but love by the owner who is also the front of the house host, waiter and historian on the food. The dishes presented themselves. He used authentic Moroccan crockery to prepare a present some of the most flavorful food I've ever experienced in the city of London. As I always say, I'll set your expectations for what you want as you come in to any place I write about. It's a small intimate dinning experience where you should bring friends and loved ones. The decor will take you to a different place, away from the hustle and bustle of London, to a foreign land that has exotic foods prepared with love and the ultimate patron experience in mind. I had Moroccan wine for the first time and wont be he last. It was absolutely fabulous, I wasn't sure what to expect but I have to put Spain on notice. I highly recommend the MD Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot which had a very nice overtones of earth and pepper. You have to check it out if you find yourself in London and looking for a new expirence.
