This organization has a great purpose, supporting veterans, but they need extensive help on their…read moretreatment of donors. This review relates to my first experience with using them. The experience went like this: 1. I called them first to ensure they were taking clothing donations. They said yes, but they were about to close for the day, their hours for receiving donations were 10-4 M-F. I said I will come the following day during their stated time with a clothing donation. 2. The following day I drove to the only location I had seen on social media on Rt. 44 in Wildwood, and followed their signs to the back of the building for donations. I was met by a man there who when I got out of the car didn't greet me with anything but: "what kind of donation are you making?" I said "clothes". His answer: "we don't take them here". That appeared to be the end of discussion with him. But I pushed on, informing him that I had called yesterday and was informed that they did take clothes donations. He then responded with: we have another location that takes clothes donations, next to the Wildwood City Hall. I built my tongue thinking about the lack of accurate information I'd gotten so far, but instead said "thanks" and drove to the City Hall area and found the other store. 3. I went in the front of the store after seeing no other entrances for donations, and stopped at the cashier's desk. The cashier asked "Can I help you?" A good start I thought. But no, when I asked about providing a clothes donation, her response was "Did you look at the sign on the front door?" I admitted I had not (the front door was covered with info when I walked in so I my reaction to it was: it's probably best if I talk to a real person before proceeding. Her second response was to provide me with instructions on how to go around the block to get to the back door of the store and leave the donation on the stoop there, because no one would be present until the afternoon to receive it. The lack of courtesy and erroneous instruction was astounding! You'd think they would recognize that without donors they have no ability to achieve their mission!

I asked to speak to someone about consignments---she said nothing and put the phone down next to where she must have been working. I could hear the transaction and conversation. And then she hung up the phone--and I called back three times with same results. I am going in to speak to the manager. BTW -this is facilitated by my church. I have donated so much to this store and encouraged others to do the same. My question was regarding consignments. I hate that I felt I needed to share this experience.

This is a great little resale shop in downtown Eustis. We have found several like-new items here…read moreand very-good used items. I love looking at all the CD's and tools to see if I can find anything special for a great price. My wife has found several tops, jackets, and outfits here that were like-new at a very affordable price. Additionally, we have purchased treats, food, toys, and multiple walking harnesses/leashes for our dog on the cheap! On our most recent visit, around Thanksgiving 2023, the store had a sale on clothing; buy one get two free; the volunteers said it can be mix-n-match too, wow, what a deal! The store also had a 50% Christmas items, 50% off all small appliances, blankets, and linens. I also have to mention this store is a great resource to the community especially If you are living with or taking care of older or disabled person. We previously purchased a walker here in the past for a very low cost, and I noticed they had a wheel chair, crutches and other items that might come in handy when helping a loved one get around. On this day in Eustis, it was quite chilly out. A gentleman entered the store because he was cold and didn't have a jacket. He walked out of the store with a decent light coat for $0.50; amazing! If you are in the area and looking for a great place to shop while supporting animals in crisis, then the Humane Society is the place for you.
