It's my treat for going grocery shopping. They now have more self service check outs, which are very convenient when you are in a rush. The George clothing area has recently been updated and has some lovely reasonably priced items. The petrol station is usually the cheapest in the area too.

Asda has managed to produce a good store in a mediocre market, the opposition aren't much good. The…read morerecently refurbished cafe, is reasonably priced. All drinks include refills and buying lunch here can cost very little. The layout of the store is easy to learn and well labeled. The special offers are all on the ends of aisles which make separate aisle across the center of the store. Asda is consistently cheaper than it's rivals. This is beginning to sound like an paid advert so I'll shut up. They also provide scooters and wheelchairs for customers with disabilities.

Iceland have a small store on a retail park just outside of the town centre. The store has a small…read moreselection of fridges, freezers and fridge/freezers for sale, all of which are brand new. But the majority of the store is food, and the majority of this food is frozen. The frozen food appears reasonably cheap, but on further inspection it is not cheaper than the likes of Tesco and in some cases its more expensive. The non frozen items are certainly more expensive unless they are on special offer. If you purchase £40 worth of food in one go you have the option of leaving the goods in store and having your shopping delivered later. This is very handy for people who don't own a car, it saves struggling on the buses or using taxis.

This is the largest supermarket in my area. It covers two floors, and carries a large variety of…read moreproduce and other goods. The upper floor is for clothing, accessories, home entertainment, phones, computers and household appliances. This is also where the mobile phone shop and ordering service are located. The lower floor has all the food items, alcohol, periodicals, books, home wares, car accessories, health and beauty supplies, an opticians and an in store pharmacy. The main store is open 24 hours, but the pharmacy, optician, ordering service and phone shop have shorter hours. The staff are friendly and efficient, the place is always clean and tidy and there is ample parking. The only fault I can find is that it is just a little bit too big for me. I can't always find what I'm looking for, and sometimes I can't reach the item when I have found it. The last part isn't their fault, but that's why I'm only giving 4 stars.
