Trust Doctor Stidham, he is really a very good doctor, very good surgeon. The reason I firmly and surely that he is one of the best because I just had hand surgery 2 months ago from him, and I wait for 2 months to be sure that my hand gains all the functions and perform normally. First off, I am medical school student so I know how hard and complicate hand surgery is due to complex and sophisticate moves of your hand. So I was doubt and bit worried choosing orthopedic surgeon. And now my result is amazing! Second, I observed doctor Stidham at the surgery center before my surgery. Everyone (nurses, doctors, med. assistants) in the pre-op room knows him and greet him very friendly. He must be a good person first so that everyone will treat him that closely and friendly, second he must be a good surgeon so that those doctors gave him that respect. I read lots of reviews about the office where doctor Stidham is working at before calling to make my first appointment. There are a few reviews that really made me worried. But now, after seeing doctor Stidham and had surgery done by him, I guarantee that doctor is the person to trust. Doctor Stidham told me that I will gain about 80% of my hand function after the surgery, and I wait 2 months to check, and now I can say my hand gains way more than 80%. Very rude staff. A depressing and dirty office. Fraudulent charges on your bill. Rushed doctor visit I was there on time for my appointment but they made me wait an hour and 15 minutes before seeing the doctor, telling me in a very rude way that we are always busy here. There was no cellphone signal there and no wifi. My visit couldn't have been more rushed. A fast-food cashier would have spent more time with me. They charged me about $180 for 7 minutes that the doctor spent half heartedly with me. A few weeks later they sent me my bill and i noticed they overcharged me. They added extra charges to my bill for services that they didn't provide and i had to call and talk to the rude assistant multiple times until they finally accepted their mistake and removed them. I demanded that i need to talk to the doctor about this mistake and get to the bottom of it, but they told me he is too busy to talk to you even on the phone. You're welcome to make another appointment to talk to him! If i overcharge my customers by mistake, i will do anything to make it right. Also they take pictures of you when you visit there which feels very creepy and weird. Why would you need my face picture?? read more

I've read the previous reviews prior to coming here and I'm so glad I disregarded the negative reviews. The office staff were awesome! Very helpful and full of information for questions I had before and after my surgery. Dr. Farr took his time during my initial examination, pre-surgery, post-surgery, and my final appointment to have my sutures removed. At the end of the day, Dr. Farr is a highly skilled surgeon. I'm a long distance runner that competes in ultra-marathons, including the Ironman triathlon; and healthy knees keep me doing what I love. Dr. Farr performed surgery to repair my medial meniscus and I felt so much better on the day after my surgery. No more pain! Absolutely the worst type of care quality you would expect for my surgeons office. Being a healthcare professional myself I was appalled at how little do they care about patients. We filled out 20 pages of intake forms of which the doctor did not even bother to look at which shows me very little competency. After filling out everything that needed to be notified to the doctor the paperwork the doctor again asked the same questions, which was very unprofessional. This doctor is very lazy, canceles appointments all all the time for patient need urgent care and simply only pushes for surgery. He didn't even bother to look at the MRI CD that we had brought with us which covered the issues we were experiencing. The front staff office also very lazy, super rude and will not get back to you regarding messages you leave them are again important for the care and well-being of thepatient. I will definitely not allow any of my loved ones to visit this office because of the unprofessional and low qualities of this clown. Just look at all the google reviews! He is no good. Dr. Farr is fine, he doesn't explain much? Comes in the room and then speaks a few words and leaves. (Man of few words??) the 1 star is for the office. The woman who sits at the desk facing the door...she's not friendly, not welcoming, robotic, told us the doctor just left and she didn't know when he'd be back. Not helpful. I had my first appointment with Dr. Farr he's so nice so professional . I had x-rays taken of both my knees , he said they were a mess but for right now he did give me my shot I've been to four doctors ( orthopedics,) and Dr. Farr is the only one that injected me with my shot and I didn't even feel it I didn't even know he had given it to me! Before I started to write review of Dr. Farr, I read through all the other posts, and the ones that were bad I just figured they had a bad day, or their experience in this Dr.'s office was really influenced by the other half dozen reviews. My only negative, period, is that the practice is in an old building, actually a 'colony' of medical practices right next to the Regional Medical Center, that must be a 'million years' old. Anyway, Dr. Farr and his compete staff are very capable and caring individuals. They ALWAYS ask how you are doing, greet each and every person with a genuine "Hello!" and a big smile. Dr. Farr is one of those rare physicians who is more that just a technician. If people would scan the documents on the wall in the waiting room, they would see that the Dr. is listed as one of the 'top Orthos in the country', has a few patents, granted, for specialized medical equipment used in knee and back surgery. That alone is worth the 'price of admission'! As a person, he is a wonderful, caring, and concerned physician. That is a rarity these days. He always has a smile, never dresses in traditional Dr. garb, but looks like he just stepped out of GQ Magazine . His Physician's Assistant, PA, is he singularly beautiful wife, who many times when he is not there, has the knowledge to diagnose and treat most ailments. Both of them are highly trained in pain management, and try and shy away from prescribing narcotic analgesics. A few times I need a cortisone shot in my knee, and have had them inject by both the Dr. and his PA. I have NEVER felt any pain at all from the 3" needles, and also have Xrays, or MRIs that have been taken, fully explained to me. There is one very special woman in the office and who schedules the surgeries, outpatient appointments, and helps with any other area that is important to the patient. Her name is Susy, and she too has some very saintly attributes. I just had the stitches removed from my right knee by Susy, after having a completely NEW KNEE installed by Dr. Farr. Didn't fell anything but tiny sting. I did have an issue where my first surgical appt. was cancelled by them because of something I did that was totally lame, and could have seriously impacted and jeopardized the surgery. I was pretty miffed, and to this day, I regret the fact that I blamed Susy, was verbally abuse, and downright rude to her. Of course I apologized after realizing what a jerk I had been to Susy! Actually, still apologize to her two months after the incident. All in all, this is a fantastic practice! All the people, from Mimi at the reception point of contact, to the people I already mentioned, plus a few others who are just diligently working hard behind the scenes to keep this practice running like a 'well oiled machine". The office is equipped with pretty advanced biomedical hardware, and if a specialized test is needed, the office will quickly and accurately, directly to a member of their vendors and referral physicians and clinics to get the best test results. You should see the good doctor read a blood test, or MRI, etc. He takes his time, and reviews every single test result before he comes up with the right answer. Again, I have had nothing but positive experiences over the last 3 years I have been a patient. Also, I never have waited but a few minutes after my appointment time to be seen. Sometimes, it's too fast as the waiting room has this giant flatscreen HD TV, and it's usually playing some really cool video from National Geographic! The Dr. is a scion in the field of specialized surgical procedures, and has his support staff very well trained! I love them all, and trust them all with my life. Both on the 'table' and off of it. This review is for the Manteca Office. Dr. Farr was the second doctor I had seen for my knee injury (Grade 2 MCL tear), and I must say it was night and day between the two doctors. Dr. Farr took the time to see what was going on with my knee and eventually performed arthroscopic surgery. The surgery performed was to make sure there were no other tears that could sometimes go unnoticed from an MRI. Pre and post surgery Dr. Farr made me feel comfortable and assured me that I was in great hands. Just had my two week evaluation yesterday and the situation is looking promising. Thanks Dr. Farr! Btw, I spoke to some of the RN's at the hospital the day before my surgery when I was getting my lab work done; they all recommended Dr. Farr over some of the other local orthopedics. I should not be able to yelp while waiting for the doctor. I came early as new patients should and checked my bf's mom in for her appointment. Being the the medical industry, I know what it's like to run an office and to know what is great customer satisfaction and this place definitely was not great at all. There was a previous patient ahead of us and apparently didn't know she needed current xray's even though hers was not THAT old.. But whatever, they would not let her be seen whatsoever without going to get new X-rays (done across the street) and she had a lot of questions as well. That's when the office manager came out to "talk" to her. The talk consisted of a very condescending tone and if I were the patient, I would be annoyed and upset. She basically scolded the patient for not having the updates X-ray films. As I'm waiting for the doc, I'm reading yelp reviews about this place and I'm dreading the long wait time. I really hope i don't wait an hour like most people. The staff here are very rude and when the "assistant" came in to do her "work up" it was literal a series of questions that lasted about 20 seconds and she was out the door. I hope the doc isn't this horrible with his bedside manner. My bf's mom didn't have a choice but to come here because she was referred here through he primary care provider and her insurance.. Hello, In march of 2013, I had a hip replacement performed by one of the best, if not the best Orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Morteza Farr. After interviewing over 5 doctors He, by far was the most attentive, and caring of all. He also expresses excellent bedside manners. He explained what was going to be done to my hip in a way I could understand, and encouraged any questions or concerns I may have had. It was a no brainier, He was the one! The reason I waited over a year to write this review is because I wanted to see how my hip would heal, and to be able to write the most honest and up to date information I could about my recovery. After my surgery, I stayed a month at "The Valley House" a rehabilitation center where they treat you like gold. It's like being on vacation without the cocktails and Beachfront views. The rooms are great and so are the meals, and staff. Dr. Farr wants you to stay there to make sure you have a smooth recovery, and to receive the physical therapy you deserve, to heal properly. Today and every day I wake up very grateful, and thankful, to him for changing my life. I can walk again with no pain what so ever. It's like nothing ever happened, and that's what I was hoping for. I can't even see a scar anymore, now that's a great surgeon! His wife, Akram also works with his patients, and she's just as smart and caring, it's like getting two doctors for the price of one. Everyone in the office is very friendly and helpful, Maria, his receptionist knows her way around a computer and insurance info like nobody's business, and Sue, his nurse is on top of it as well. They've always treated me like I'm the only one who matters. I hope these comments will be helpful to you when you're deciding who your next orthopedic surgeon will be. This review is for the Manteca office. Dr Farr is amazing. I entered his office nervous as all get out about my really bad ACL tear and walked out completely at ease. He explained everything that was going on in a way that was easy to understand and was patient when I got confused and asked the same question a couple different times. The morning of my surgery, I was a ball of nerves again and again Dr Farr was able to put me (and my husband) at ease. The vibe he puts out is so calming and he seems to really enjoy helping patients. His office staff is terrific as well. Efficient, knowledgeable, compassionate, and personable. Very fast and professional service. Brought my mother here after she started having severe Knee Pain. We got called in right away and all the options were explained to us. Dr. Farr explained all the possible solutions and did everything in his effort to avoid surgery. Gave my mother shot for the pain and assigned her physical therapy along with medication. After 5 weeks if there is no improvement then he suggested we go with the knee reconstructive surgery. I like how he took the time to thoroughly explain every possible solution and preventative care rather than just go straight to surgery. Highly recommend. read more

This review is not on the doctor himself but his staff is HORRIBLE. If I could give less than a star or negative stars I would. Waited a month and a half for an appointment just to have them call and reschedule it via voicemail. In the voicemail the gal prompted a call back if I was unable to make the new time, in which I called back at least twenty times, and an additional seven times the day the appointment was scheduled. And left a voicemail which the rude gal at the front states she never got. Along with this I have called three times a day the past week and was finally able to get a person on the phone. **But she also said she never got my referral then conveniently found it a week later after being on the phone for 15 minutes.** Needless to say, they said I "no showed" this appointment - and wanted to reschedule me out another few weeks. So I will be seeing another Dr. and if you care about your time, I would suggest the same to you as well. This dr should be concerned with the way his staff treats patients. And realize that they're making it seem like due to the way that the claim is being reimbursed it's not as important as others so they put off their lien patients for months. I have worked in a doctors office and know that if things are rescheduled due to emergency- you prioritize and do your best to make things work rather than treat your patients with such disregard. In a second opinion in a reputed health care center whatever Dr. Farr suggested was thrown away as unnecessary and not needed treatments. Dr Farr is a great doctor i went to see him after 2 years of having knee pain and we did some test and came to find out i had a torn meniscus. So he explained that i needed surgery and have me all the options i had. After he referred me to have surgery i was appointed a date a week after, the surgery went well and almost a month later i feel better then before. I went to see him after to check in and he explained everything he did during surgery. He listens very good to your every concern. I highly recommend him. read more

Today was out first time in this office,as we were referred by my family physician.I was expecting this Orthopedic experience to be maybe great because if you go into the Doctors website they sure sound professional, but it was one of the worst to my experience as in doctors! My child has been suffering from pain on and off,for a couple of years now ;'( . We have already been to three other specialist or doctors,and till this day no one is interested or willing to look in what is causing the pain. Finally, the receptionist shows up out of nowhere.It seems very clear that this office is overbooked,and the poor receptionist is doing lots of work on her own.Still no greeting and absolutely no customer service. We wait and suddenly a man call us into x-rays.The man doesn't even introduce himself,or nothing just tells you it's x-rays time.He was kind of rude to my child and no sense of humor at all.Come on you know that also children will come into this office,lighten up man! Then we are told to wait in the wait from again. Then a lady comes and actually calls three patients at the same time,again no introduction to who this lady is or what's going on now.She doesn't even say hi to the child,parent (that's me), to no one.This lady doesn't look to friendly or even concern to make at least my child feel safe, or anything. I still don't know who this lady is,no hand shake or nothing. It sure seems they work on quantity of patients seen in a day, and not at all concern of there non-professional conduce.We are placed in a waiting room,also are the other two patients it was a quick get into the room,boom boom! Like, I said being in the Medical field, our patients are #1, for them to feel comfortable and cared for but to me the way they run this place is a joke! This lady came into the room,ran out of the room, asking my child of his pain symptoms, that was rude! She couldn't even take the time to sit with him,introduce herself or anything or ask him properly.My children face was shock and puzzled,it just seemed so stupid! Then in a second a man comes in I think he was the Doctor, but he never introduced himself, no proper handshake or anything.This person the man, didn't even touch the hurting location or examine my son,no dress gown to look at the hip,knee,thigh,feet pain,nothing! He just sat and said there's nothing wrong with the x-rays! So, I explain the whole entire years that we have been dealing with the pain issues.At,least he said it worries him that it's been going on to long. As, a medical professional I explain my though, that if it's not skeletal issues can be muscle or sciatic nerve pain or something along the line of that,he looked at me and replied that it could be.He told me to give him Ibuprofen everyday,and send him to physical therapy. So, I'm thinking why would I give my son Ibuprofen everyday,not liking this recommendation of this doctor.I actually just want a darn MRI for my son ,we need answers and I feel that I still didn't get them in this place.Well, conclusion I didn't like this place and wouldn't recommend to anyone unless you want to be ignored and treated like any number in the crowd. Have not seen dr. Farr until the surgery time. His (very good) PA scheduled me for "arthroscopy with fissure" (fissure following an accident and the only cause of knee pain). At surgery time the wanted me to sign papers "without fissure", which I refused. Dr. Farr came to my bed and promised he will take care of the fissure, but cannot put on paper. I believed him. Bi9g mistake, he lied to me. I am in the same pain as before surgery. Furthermore, he treated me like trash in the follow up visit. His attitude make me believe that he is an incompetent, able to do only basic arthroscopic shaving, nothing more! Avoid him! read more

I have exactly the same opinion as Chris. Very professional staff, good communication on their side. Dr Farr seemed to have done a good job stitching back together my Achilles tendon and the first part of recovery went well. I agree the "handover" to physical therapy is a bit murky and open ended. I would have expected a formal referral note. Instead, Dr Farr was very brief in his communication and didn't share much about it. My physical therapist seemed surprised about that as well. All in all, I have been satisfied with the professionalism, prompt and high quality surgery planning and aftercare and staff friendliness so far though. Recommended. read more

I just finished reading Becky L's review and I'm so angry, that I have to make a comment. I have been a patient on and off for 4 years for my neck and shoulder pain. My mother fell last year and Dr Farr did her hip surgery. I personally called the office and spoke to the office manager to request some information about my mother, and even though she knows me as a regular patient, she wouldn't give me any information. My mother had to call and give her consent to release information to me. So I definitely disagree with the HIPAA violation comment, that they will sit in Mc Donalds and speak about their patients and Dr Farr?? The Manteca office is wonderful. I was getting poor treatment, when seeking help for my spinal issues, until I came into the office of Dr. Farr. I felt completely comfortable and cared for, from the minute I first walked into their office. The office staff are extremely friendly, helpful, and quick to resolve any issues. Dr. Farr was straight forward, explained everything to my complete satisfaction, and performed my surgery brilliantly. My aftercare has been no exception. The medical supply company representative, O'Ryan Stewart from Precision Medical Products, is fabulous. He came to my house, prior to surgery to fit my cervical collar, and returned 3 days after my surgery to deliver my bone growth stimulator. Both visits we're very informative, he thoroughly explains everything with an extremely friendly demeanor, and has even called to check up on me. My follow up with the office has been very calming and reassuring. I am healing nicely, thanks to the wonderful care I am receiving from all of them. I had none of the bad front office experiences others recounted in their reviews. I was treated with warm professionalism from my appointment phone call through my office visit. I was seen on time. Dr. Farr referred me directly to physical therapy so our encounter was brief. I did ask a couple of how/why questions and his answers were indirect, not the medical information I sought, so the communication was a little murky. I have a February appointment for a status evaluation and will add to this post if my new visit brings any more insights about Dr. Farr's practice. read more

Dr. Farr and his staff went to bat for me. Had low back pain for years, 21 injections, facet blocks 3 times, but my pain would never leave. In July of 2016, went in for first visit, followed their instructions, got the MRI and they set up surgery. Dr. Farr worked his magic in October, 2016, fused together L5, L4, an S1. Dr Farr is very good at what he does. He he has steady hands which is the most important quality when working on the my spine. He just recently did a surgery on my back and everything went very smoothly. There was only one hiccup which was no fault of their own and his patients were switched from Doctors Hospital in Manteca to Sutter in Tracy which may have caused some issues from some of his patients. However, my experience with Tracy Sutter was excellent and I could not have asked for a better place for my first time in a hospital surgery unit. Dr Farr's office staff is friendly and cares about their patients.However, they are extremely busy and can feel like they're not very friendly. Odette was great and listened to all the questions I had and took her time. I have a habit of paying attention while waiting, I noticed they had a lot of things going on behind the scenes . I recognized they have a big responsibility to make sure that things get taken care of and go smoothly for dr. Farr and his patients. I personally have only dealt with two people in the office so I'm not sure if there's anyone else that works in there. But if there are only two of them they are very efficient! I haven't had my follow-up visit yet however I'm sure that it's going to go good too. I'll do another update after everything is completed. I also had a great experience with their contracted company they use that came to my house for my back brace. And I don't say that lightly. It is true that is busy, and it gets hectic at times and I know they do their best at caring for the patients. The motto of this office is patients first. When I worked there, I made sure to introduce myself, I shook hands with the patient, and I helped patients in whatever I could to make their visit as pleasant as possible. I tried to prepare myself for the patient by reading the patients' information, before calling them into the room. Then, I listened carefully to the patients' concerns, and took notes. If the doctor was not already seeing patients, I will call the doctor and relay the patients' concerns as much as I could for each patient before the doctor saw the patient. That is standard procedure. I am really sorry that no everyone can get the same experience when they come into Dr. Farr's office but I can assure you that everyone works very hard to provide patients with the best care possible. Dr. Farr is a very compassionate, and caring man. He has a great sense of humor and makes patients laugh, most of all he is an honest man and a great surgeon. If you need orthopedic care, please come visit Dr Farr, you will be placing yourself in good hands. He might not tell you what you want to hear but he will honestly tell you what needs to be done with your best interest in mind. read more

Wow where do I start!. I am a police officer and fully dislocated my left elbow on April 26th, 2014. This was a non work related injury. On Monday, I called Dr Farr's Office to schedule an appointment right when they opened. I was in extreme pain even after the ER had relocated my elbow and I was not sure if ligaments were torn. So now let me back up a minute. Two years ago I sustained a right injury elbow injury on duty and was a workman comp issue where I had seen Dr Farr the following day and then referred to a specialist with no issues. So now when I called Dr Farr's Office, clerical at the Manteca Office said I had a $500 balance from when I saw them two years ago and she was really rude. Are you kidding me! I received no notice of this bill. Apparently, Blue Cross requested their money back when it turned into a Workman's Comp issue. So clerical told me that Dr Farr will not see me regarding my new injury until I pay the $500. I was in shock that they were refusing medical treatment for me. I told them that it was not my fault about the balance if I wasn't notified of it. That didn't matter to clerical staff. I told them that they just lost a valued patient and she said, "okay." Wow! I called my Workman Comp adjuster and she said they never received a bill from Dr Farr's Office. I then called Dr Farr's billing department (1-800 number by the way) and they said they didn't send a bill to workman comp. The billing department also said it didn't matter if I owed $10,000 on a workman comp claim and I should never be rejected medical treatment for a personal injury. Within10 minutes workman Comp and Dr Farr's billing department worked out the details to took care of the $500 balance. At this point I was so frustrated and I am sure Dr Farr would be very upset if he knew how his clerical was treating me or "not treating me." My son has also been a patient at his office before. I then made an appointment with Tri-Valley Orthopedics in Tracy. I have bee very satisfied with them and the high quality equipment they use. Until this day, Dr Farr's clerical staff has not called me to apologize for their mistake. I hope Dr Farr reads this review to correct this issue. Dr Farr is a great doctor, but it is not worth the battlefield you have to cross to get to him!!!! read more

WASTE OF TIME! I waited an hour to see the doctor then for him to rush the visit. I assume he was trying to catch up since he was an hour behind. Maybe they need to schedule patients further a part, so he can spend time with them. Especially if you are a new patient.
