Came back and had the French onion soup, sea bass and selection of shared desserts for the table. I'm so glad I went with the sea bass, perfectly cooked and so juicy and firm. First time trying Morton's. Most of the reviews on Yelp are spot on. Great service, nice atmosphere, but the food overall isn't spectacular for the prices that they are charging. Don't get me wrong, all of our sides and appetizers were good, but just didn't hit the "wow" level. The shrimp cocktail came closest to being a "wow" in my opinion because of the large size of the shrimp, as well as the excellent flavor of their cocktail sauce that came with it. We shared the 16 oz boneless rib eye steak. Typically in other upscale steakhouses, the traditional rib eye steak is a more well marbled cut. Perhaps we were just unfortunate to get a leaner cut, so even though it was only cooked to medium, it was a bit on the tough side. The potatoes au gratin weren't bad, and neither were the truffle fries and broccolini. At the beginning of the meal, they offer complementary bread and whipped butter. I believe for this price point, most patrons would expect a higher level of quality for their food overall. I'm not opposed to returning, but wouldn't be my first go-to restaurant for a nice steak, especially since I drove 40 minutes to get to the restaurant. read more

Had to show up for the Morton's X Veuve Cliquot bubbled and bites dinner. What a fun concept. Of course they did not have the advertised branded containers but they did warn us when we got there. First off, we sat down and the bartender did not acknowledge us for at least 10-15 minutes we sat there. She was busy though so I guess there's that but she never acknowledged us the entire time we were there. Someone else who was hustling back and forth finally checked on us and she was super nice despite being a busy lady, I appreciate the effort. We asked the bartender for a second drink after 2 hours and she looked bothered that we asked for help. The audacity, to ask a bartender for a drink. My cherry blossom martini kinda tasted like bubblegum medicine but maybe I just ordered poorly for my tastebuds. I'm not very picky, it just wasn't my thing. I feel like I could just copy and paste my last review from the DineLA dinner we had here last year! Man! It was soooo good! The bread, the sides, the steaks! The desserts!!! So so good. Mortons is great for special occasions. It is a great place to get all dressed up for. We had a reservation and were seated at the exact same table as before. The tables in the middle are close together. Dont be afraid to talk to the table next to you. I was not a fan of their brussel sprouts. I would not order them again. What I would order is the loaded baked potatoe. It is sliced in half so it is great to share. The ribeye is delicious. I am the type who likes it well. They always butterfly cut mine and comes out so good. Service is always good. Drinks are strong. Expect to spend $200-$250 for two. I am a fan. read more

I usually sit at the bar where I find the service to be excellent. I went to redeem my birthday reward and they topped off my meal with a dessert of my choice. I was there during power hour for reduced price cocktails, and although it is not on the list, they will do martinis at the happy hour price. I had the Ora King Salmon which comes with broccolini and baby carrots. This is definitely a favorite, the salmon is tender and flaky. The carrots and broccolini are firm to the bite. I used to go to the location on La Cienega, which has since closed but don't mind making the extra drive here since the experience is always a great one. But my lady surprised me and brought me out and I was very blown away by just how much they stepped their game up since I've last been in. They decorated the table with birthday bling. The service was very prompt. Though we came early and were pretty much alone. But even as customers began to fill in the tables all around us I didn't notice any slower attention. Ribeye was cooked perfectly, the lobster mashed potatoes almost kicked my teeth out. The potatoes were puréed and buttered and seasoned wonderfully. Even the crème brûlée was outstanding. Steakhouses aren't reinventing the wheel at all but occasionally you do find some that smooth out their rough edges and turn into a real jewel. Made reservations for my 4th anniversary with my boyfriend and it was the perfect place for a romantic date night. They decorated the table which was a pleasant surprise. The portions were big and the food was tasty. We both got the 8oz filet and chose 3 sides to share and we had more than enough and even had left overs to pack. This location sits inconveniently located at the bottom of a commercial building with very limited parking. To be honest I almost missed it directly across from Whole Foods. The restaurant is upscale and the service was excellent but the food took a long time despite it being very early for dinner. Loved the Labor Day special of a prix fixe meal with 3 courses and MANY options--soup or salad starter, steak, shrimp, salmon, lobster choices for main dishes and dessert at the end. Not to mention they had one of my favorite Cabernet Sauvignons, Austin Hope! Only a tiny improvement suggestion on maintaining a bit more juice in the steaks and shrimp. I can't believe it's taken me 12+ years to revisit this review, but we've had dozens of visits since my 2013 review. Landry's most assuredly messed things up. The original Morton's experience was always a treat and it went away when Landry's took over. Many missteps later, we've settled in to their way (what other option do we have). The menu is now a bit more diverse, so more options... that's good. Service is usually very good to excellent ( I'm looking at you, Tiffany) and usually great cocktails. Food is usually very good to great, but we've been disappointed with some specials (tomahawk, wagyu), so stick with regular menu. DineLA is an exception. Bar, while not extremely comfortable, offers a nice menu with a few items not available in dining room. Regular menu is available at bar, so it's a good option. Ambiance is nice, but it can get warm... especially if you're near the kitchen. Just a note. Unfortunately, they don't enforce dress code, and some diners are dressed for Taco Bell. :/ Still, highly recommended. read more

Brenda, our server, was so sweet and made the dinner more enjoyable. At first, we ordered the chocolate cake, then decided to change to the carrot cake. We ended up with both because the cake was already being prepared. If you're unsure, get the chocolate cake. It was amazing! We let them know it was our parent's anniversary and they had the table beautifully decorated and a congratulatory welcome card announcing their anniversary. Beautiful touch. Our appetizers were Seared Ahi tuna and Wagu beef dumplings and Bacon wrapped scallops. Our favorite was the tuna. Our Tomahawk steaks were perfectly cooked. We had King crab legs that melted in your mouth. Our sides were creamed corn and scalloped potatoes and they were delicious. The only thing that could have been better was that we ordered creamed spinach but were served sautéed spinach and mushrooms. I was disappointed since I really wanted what I ordered. Love a happy hour and had been hearing great things about Mortons and decided to check it out - was rushing to get there before 6pm for their "Power Hour" we arrived at 6:20pm and were bummed we missed it only to learn their happy hour goes til 630! A win! The bar are was pretty quiet - we opted to sit in one of the round high tops instead of the bar area. Service was great, we quickly picked out our food and drink options to get it in before the 630pm mark. The food serving was generous -was weren't able to finish it all. We got the sliders, chicken sliders, onion rongs and thin truffled fries. The sliders included 4 of them - this was great as we were a party of four the chicken sliders only had 3 - would have loved to have had one extra one. The onion rings were cooked to perfection and the fries were so thin and yummy! I decided to treat myself to a nice dinner this past Friday. I was craving meat so I decided to give Morton's a try. Parking is located in the garage where they're situated, and make sure to ask for validation when leaving. Once I checked in was given the option of either sitting at the bar or getting my own table so I was seated in a nice booth. The customer service here is really nice and the staff is pleasant. My waitress was very sweet and patient with me. This nice loaf of bread came in and it was served nice and hot with a side of whipped butter. This bread was amazing: 5/5 I started it off with a flight of whiskey their top liquors in small pours. 3 served along with their specifics. The waitress even served me the side toppings to make my own little "old fashions" the straight bourbon whiskey and small batch bourbon whiskey were my top favorite. Then I ordered the Wagyu meatballs and the plate was served with 2 medium-large sized meatballs, topped off with pesto sauce. This plate was my favorite of the night, the meatballs were so juicy and tender and full of flavor. I ate it all. Then my main plate with a side came in: a large baked potato fully loaded this was huge I couldn't finish it. 4/5 filet mignon and lobster tail were up next and I was in heaven. The lobster tail was soo good and I enjoyed every bite as I was dipping in the butter. The filet mignon was flavorful, tender and retained its juice. 5/5 Overall, the experience was amazing, the presentations of the dishes were subpar and everything checked out as far as deliciousness. Came here for the first time to celebrate the wife's birthday and they did not disappoint. They started us out with some delicious warm onion loaf bread accompanied with a creamy butter. We enjoy the freshness of it and the flavor. For our Entrees we had 12oz filet mignon which was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. A rack of lamb that's the best I've ever had from any steakhouse. For the sides we had Brussel sprouts which cooked with bacon and shallots that made them extremely flavorful. TLDR: service wasn't great and food was overall just okay. We sat in the bar area and ordered from their happy hour menu, they call power hour. We ordered several items: Wagyu Smashburger, Petite Filet Mignon Sandwiches, Fried Chicken Sliders, Parmesan Truffle Matchstick Fries, and Thick-cut Onion Rings. Overall the food was okay, but we waited over 40 minutes to get any of our food. Either the kitchen was too slow or it was the service. In any case no one came by to give us an update or apologize for the delay. Also not all of the food came out at the same time. One or two items were still missing. Wagyu Smashburger 4/5: Tasty and good portion size. I couldn't tell it was Wagyu though, so pricey for a burger. Fried Chicken Sliders 2/5: Something was off with this, I think it might've been the sauce and gardiniera, but it didn't work. Parmesan Truffle Matchstick Fries: 3/5 It really is matchstick thin fries, very crispy. Thick-cut Onion Rings 2/5: the breading was on the soft/soggy side. Petite Filet Mignon Sandwiches 4/5: We ordered plain with cheese, these tasted good, like small cheeseburgers. The restaurant is upscale, dimly lit, and has a steakhouse feel. There's a bar area with a good amount of table seating next to the main dining room. There is a parking garage adjacent to the restaurant which can be validated. This was my first experience here. It's started well with an extremely warm and welcoming greeting from the hostesses. I had made a reservation and the young ladies found me right away. I specifically came in for the January Veuve Clicquot "Bubble & Bites" special and had specified that in my reservation as instructed, but was informed that they no longer had the presentation boxes, but I could still have the special. A bit disappointed, I didn't let that damper my excitement. However when I went to have a sit at the bar, it wasn't clean. I couldn't tell if the space was occupied or if the previous guests had exited. No one acknowledged my presence or the dirty place setting for a very long time. Two other guests arrived and asked if the seats next to me were available, I told them I believed so as I had been sitting there for a while. After awhile a staff member came to the two guests next to me and apologized for the wait and the dirty place settings and cleaned their spot and offered them water. I asked her for water as well and she asked if anyone had helped me and I answered no. She sincerely apologized and cleared my place sitting and gave me a water as well. I could definitely see she was overwhelmed, but the lack of attention and service is definitely on the whole staff. I finally placed my order and can say that the food was delicious and the champagne so refreshing. I would love to come back, especially for the Power Hour, as the menu looked amazing. Definitely shareable! The 36oz Tomahawk was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Unfortunately most of that 36oz was the actual bone... so there wasn't as much protein as we had hoped for. It definitely could've used more salt or seasoning... would've helped if it could've come with a sauce of some kind. Chose this restaurant initially just for location. Was not expecting much. I had a large party and had called about a private room, and although I often use these for work, the lady Addie was very inflexible with all of it. Made me want to cancel altogether. But instead we booked 2 tables for 29 people through open table. I asked her if she could make a note to TRY and put us close if possible in the dining area. Again, was not going to make it easy. Fast forward to the day of. I called to see if it was possible to increase the number to 30, and request a limited menu to make things flow a little more easily for everyone. Well, Mary Ella answered the phone and she turned around the entire experience for us. She not only did menus, she personalized them for our graduates. She worked with me on splitting checks between 4 families (Addie refused to do so), and we were so surprised and excited to arrive and have the private room!!!! Even little decorations on the table. Came here to celebrate my friends birthday. Morton's Steakhouse delivered an amazing dining experience from start to finish, our server was so accommodating too love her!(Forgot her name). We ordered the smoked Gouda & bacon au gratin potatoes, king crab mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, truffled cream corn, a 36oz tomahawk ribeye, bacon macaroni shells & cheese, Wagyu beef dumplings, Wagyu meatballs, and their strawberry, raspberry, and lemon drop martinis. The au gratin potatoes were easily the standout side--rich, cheesy, and packed with flavor, while the king crab mashed potatoes were also really good. The Wagyu beef dumplings were crispy and juicy at the same time, and the sweet chili oil paired perfectly with them, while the Wagyu meatballs were pretty decent (just wish they came with more than two).
