Plaster missing around outlets. Shock hazard!

Made a permanent move across country and stayed at Motel 6 the whole way because they were cheap and mostly because they accept pets. This one in Bossier City was by far the worst of all the ones I stayed in. Curtains barely hung on the windows. Room smelled. Cracked mirrors. Sink held up by a 2x4. Holes punched in wall. Exhaust fan in bathroom and outlet plugs coming out of the wall. Dirty stained walls. 2 homeless no teeth women asleep in the lobby. No refunds after check in! Really sad that the corporation doesn't keep tabs on this sort of thing. Oh, and I found out later there is no internet or cable!!!

Trash left in safe (safe didn't work).

These are photos taken as soon as we walked into the room. On another occasion, the heater didn't work. It was January, and we were told to go buy a space heater because maintenance had already turned in for the night (they live on property). There is no pool. Just a hole in the ground with a "pool closed" sign on the gate, just so you know before thinking you might go for a swim during your stay.

This was actually present in a place that you pay to sleep.

It's not all bad: they've got the new laminate floors (infinitely less gross than carpet), the parking lot is well-lit, and the wifi, fridge, and microwave all worked. Like every Motel 6, they were happy to give our baby puppy children a place to stay. On the other hand, they still have that unfortunate adjoining-rooms-separated-by-a-wooden-door bit going on, so smoke crept under the door and music noise happily travelled through it. They fulfilled the Louisiana state minimum by providing one live cockroach upon entry to the room, the shower was a freezing drizzle that I abandoned lest it take 20 minutes to rinse the shampoo from my hair, and the room was serviced so poorly that we found presciption pills loitering under one of the several pieces of furniture that had never been pulled out nor cleaned under. Also, when replacing the floors, they might have also gotten rid of the armchair that had been in the room since 1987 and only partially cleaned after someone had clearly been stabbed to death in it. I have seen newer and more attractive furnishings next to empty kegs on the porches of frat houses. It seemed lifted from a postapocalyptic video game like Fallout or Infamous. So, this still might be an alright stop if you aren't demanding--the bed was fine and the room was okay aside from the above. But caveat emptor, and all.

Cockroaches

Filthy slimy floors, towels weren't clean. Cockroaches. Staff uncaring. Homeless person living under the stairs. Asked housekeeping to sweep the floors and they handed me the broom. Asked to talk with a manager and they said manager lives in Texas and doesn't care about this property. I would never recommend this place EVER!

Burn holes in a NON smoking room!

This is the most run down motel 6 ever. nasty dirty and disgusting. the NON SMOKING ROOMS smell like they are smoking rooms! broken glass on a dirty peed on toilet seat. The T.v had more fingerprints than the F.B.I. I would give 0 stars but the app didnt let me.

Unexpected trip to Shreveport and upon arrival we find out there were several graduations and other festivities going on which resulted in us staying here. The outer appearance seemed to be OK the lobby looked OK so I thought maybe I'll survive the night as I'm truly not a fan of the Motel 6 brand. We get to our double bed room, and I then realized why I haven't stayed at a Motel 6 in probably 20 years. The beds were outdated, lights didn't fully work, but I could tell they have done a few renovations but definitely not enough. We noticed there were no wash clothes in the room so we go to the front desk and were told we'd have to bring the used wash clothes to the desk before we could be given new ones lol how so when we don't have any sir (we just went down to Walmart and purchased our own towels). The curtain was dusty and partially hung, toilet paper dispenser barely hanging on, shower head rusty and spraying all over the place, tub looked as if it had not been cleaned in several stays (thank God we purchased bleach spray while at Walmart) but my mom asked me to make the best of the situation. After we basically made ready our own room we were OK until my grandson drops his cup and it rolls under the bed. OMG I was completely disgusted. I went to the front desk and complained and the young man points to the sign that reads, "no refunds given after check in" I'm not asking for a refund and thank goodness we're about to check out. Needless to say next time I will drive into Bossier City if there's no other option.

The DJ kept the energy high and did a great job mixing music that appealed to everyone, no matter their taste. That evening, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Jack Binion's. Our server, Austine, was exceptional--attentive, friendly, and truly helped make the dining experience memorable. While Lady Luck wasn't exactly on our side this trip, we still managed to hit the jackpot when it came to customer service. Anya at the Promotions Desk went above and beyond, providing outstanding service with a smile and making us feel genuinely valued as guests. From relaxing poolside to great food and exceptional hospitality, Horseshoe Casino made for a memorable Father's Day celebration. We'll definitely be back--and maybe next time our luck at the slots will catch up to the level of service we received!

The casino floor itself is extremely small, but they had the most table games open on a Friday afternoon out of all of the other properties we checked out. Not too much luck here, and the dealers are pretty quiet/keep to themselves. Overall, I'd say this is a nice property!

Due to continued rain events, we were unable to repair the badly damaged roof until early June. Per the recommendations of our trusted contractor, we opted to move out of the remaining part of the house during the demolition and reconstruction phase. Our insurer was very helpful in finding a place nearby where we could stay during the reconstruction with facilities that would minimize the discomfort of long-term living in much smaller quarters. They set us up in the Home2 Suites by Hilton in a nice part of Shreveport. Everyone at the hotel is very familiar with folks having relatively long stays (the General Manager, Hannah, told us of a couple who had been with them for a YEAR!), but they treated us as though we were the most important guests they had ever met. Hannah and Shontel showed us the available accommodations that could meet our needs. We spent the first few nights in a "Queen Studio" that was nicely appointed, with two queen beds, nice bath and a small kitchen area with plates, cups, glasses, flatware, refrigerator, microwave, sink and automatic dishwasher that made it a little more like home (special heating devices for cooking using their cookware was available, although we never used them). Our insurer was kind enough to provide for an upgrade to a "King Suite," which has a separate bedroom with a king-size bed and large TV that could be closed off from the seating area (which featured another large TV), a very spacious bathroom, and the same kitchen essentials as the Queen Studio and a table with 3 chairs, and another, very comfortable chair that slides up under a wheeled table that can easily be moved around. We ended up staying 62 nights. The part that made it better than expected was the way we were treated by virtually everyone working there. I apologize for not getting everyone's name, but all of them showed the same concern, commitment, and care towards us. All the desk clerks (Shontel, Liberty, Ariel, Leanna - I hope I didn't leave anyone out!) went the extra mile for every request we had. Shaquail worked nights but was first to say good morning to me at breakfast, and Toya was right there making sure the food was prepared and plentiful every morning. So many others (like the maintenance guys whose names I didn't write down) and Brittany, who ran housekeeping, were anxious to make our stay with them as pleasant as they could. Other guys (like Charles and Marlin) who handled everything else were always ready to take care of any needs we had. Many more folks cleaned rooms, washed towels and linens, and provided other essential needs. After 9 weeks, we were EAGER to get back to our home, but it was obvious that everyone who works at the Home2 Suites had our comfort and needs at the top of their minds. Thanks to all, and a big Thumbs Up to everyone at Home2 Suites in Shreveport.
