Sourdough bagels alert!! This spot had a line out the door at 9:30am on a Saturday but don't let that scare you. The line moves fast and the food/drinks come out fast too. They are very efficient! My friend and I shared two of their open face bagels where you also get to pick your bagel and cream cheese. Our picks: heirloom tomato bagel (rosemary bagel / sea salt cc)and avocado bagel (everything bagel / garlic and herb cc). Overall, the bagels themselves were literally perfect. So soft and fully in the middle with a crunchy exterior. The heirloom tomato bagel was my fav. The tomatoes were so fresh and juicy, just the most perfect bagel topping.

LIFE CHANGING BAGELS. RUN, DON'T WALK! Mother Dough Bagels serves fresh bagels, schmears, and coffees. The bagels are made fresh and in house. Parking was easy to find street side and while there might be a line, just know it's worth it. I ordered the salmon bagel with garlic schmear on a sesame bagel. It was an experience. The salmon was fresh and the accompanied toppings perfectly complimented it. As for their drinks, I love their fun seasonal menu. The black sesame matcha with black sesame cold foam is the best. Not overly sweet or overly creamy, the perfect consistency and caffeine to start my day. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available, this whole experience left me wondering where has this been all my life. So you must try this too. I'll definitely be back!

Came at 11:30 with a line still out the door. Luckily still had bagels available but limited on the choices. Always delicious. Still hands down my favorite bagels on this earth and wish there was something like this closer to home. Nice space to sit outdoors and some small seating indoors but perfect stop for a weekend. 5/5 bagels - recommend coming early.

The Avocado with Chili Crunch and Gochujang Spread

We came here on a Sunday morning for brunch. There was a long line and limited seating, so account for that when you're here. The ambiance was pretty lively. There so many unique flavors in the bagels and spread - though several of the spreads and bagel flavors were out by the time we got to the front to order. I ordered the Avocado with Chili Crunch and Gochujang Spread on an everything bagel. It was delicious and the slightly spiciness from the gochujang spread and chili crunch was perfect with the creaminess of the avocado and fresh microgreens. Overall a great combination of flavors! And will definitely be back another time when I'm in the area to try other bagel options and spreads - everything looked so good I had a hard time choosing!

Amazing bagels! So soft and fresh. They really load the cream cheese too. The drinks are great too and the chocolate chip cookie. Wish they would add eggs and bacon as a breakfast add on or something... the place is super cute too. Inside and outside. The service is okay.

This was an epic spot. We got there pretty early, and I'm glad we did. We were first in a pretty long line- non stop for like 45 minutes after we ordered. The staff were friendly and helpful. The menu was larger than I originally anticipated but I still got what I came for. I came with a friend and we ordered the Heirloom+ and anchovies (highly recommend getting anchovies, as well as the sesame bagel with honey butter, a caramel miso almond milk latte, and a calamansi matcha. We ordered pretty simple bagels- the quality on simple things was exceptional. Bouncy soft bagels with a crisp exterior. The honey butter was the right amount of salty, sweet, with a touch of spice of the cinnamon. The heirloom with anchovies was a star, texture flavor, a true standout on their menu- the right amount of acid from the lemon zest. I loved the miso caramel latte, 8 oz was the perfect size but I for sure could have gone for more. The calamansi matcha was refreshing and bright. There was a beautiful seating area in the yard but there's still lots of seating inside. It was clean bright and just right for an early morning before our road trip back home. Would definitely recommend and can bet we'll be back the next time we're in the area.

Calamansi juice with matcha and americano

Amazing bagel spot! It was fun to find out that it was filipino-owned after I saw that they had a "Pinoy Palmer" on the menu! Came here on a Saturday and it had a bit of a line, but the wait didn't take forever. Noted to come a little earlier next time because some of the bagel options ran out. We ordered the salmon, the heirloom (with anchovies), calamansi juice (with matcha), and an americano. The bagels were super tasty. I would say the salmon was a little on the salty side, but I'm guessing that is because of the smoked salmon plus the capers. Still very tasty! I also enjoyed the heirloom. The heirloom tomatoes were super fresh, and the added anchovies gave it a nice added taste. I also enjoyed the calamansi juice with matcha! They have seating both indoors and outdoors. Nice spot with really nice employees. Thank you!

We had a weekend away and ended up in SB. Our Bed & Breakfast was great but we knew the best Bagels were not far away! Yelp lead us to this fantastic artisan bakery! My sesame sourdough toasted bagel was both delightfully chewy yet soft and delicious! i got it with a house herb blended cheese cream smear! Loved it so much! My GF had the one with Lox... She couldn't say enough great things about her experience! A must try! Note: go as early as possible. Often sold out super fast! Opens now at 8. We got there at 8:05 and we will 8th in line. Line moves fast and is totally worth it! Great find! Must return next trip!

Top: The Salmon, Bottom: The Ikura

I appreciated the attention to detail from this bagel place -- from the location, ambiance of the shop, & the friendly workers. My boyfriend and I just got out of Sunday mass nearby & headed over. We were the first ones in line. We ordered The Ikura on a furikake bagel (with tobiko as the spread) & The Salmon on an everything bagel (with garlic herb spread). I also purchased a chocolate chip cookie since it was freshly baked. Surprisingly enough I didn't order a matcha though will definitely plan to the next time we're here. We both enjoyed the bagels though The Salmon definitely would've been more delicious with a slice of tomato to help add balance. I loved The Ikura - no notes. To note, I became a fan of cornichons after eating here LOL. 10 out of 10. There's seating indoors and outdoors. Definitely a perfect place to go for a morning pick-me-up!

    Lox box
    Ellen Z.

We got the lox box and it was very fun, making your own bagels and heir loom tomatoes and lox were truly the star of the show. I have had better bagels in terms of being toasted and better creams I will note. The staff was very friendly and the line despite being long moved by pretty quickly. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating making a convenient spot for groups to gather.

If you're reading this review and plan to be in this area, just come and read the rest of this review while you wait to order. To preface, I'm not a huge bagel fan and my boyfriend is not a big sourdough fan, but we both loved this place. They have super fun unique flavors, really sweet staff and service. Indoor and outdoor seating as well as fun seasonal artisan gifts all packed into a small quaint little store. For the bagels: We did an Heirloom (5/5) (THIS WAS OUR FAVORITE). (Bagel+ spread with heirloom tomatoes and herbs+ anchovies) with a selection of their rosemary bagel + herb garlic spread. The flavors were so well balanced in this, I really recommend the pickled anchovies even if you hate anchovies because it just adds another layer of brightness and palette cleansing and it's balanced with the sweetness of the tomatoes, and then also you taste the light notes of olive oil. UGH. We also had to try the very furikake bagel which we got with the tobiko spread. We are still thinking about this one too. For a personal preference of mine, I appreciated that they give you the bagel as 2 halves instead of as a sandwich also they don't slather on the spread super thick. This makes it easier to share and there was furikake all over the top AND the bottom, some bagel places have a bit of a bare bottom... The bagel is so toasty you get the roasted seaweed and sesame coming through in each bite and paired with the creamy tobiko was just *chefs kiss* Coffees: we got the miso caramel latte and a blueberry latte. Both very good but the miso caramel was slightly on the heavier side. Blueberry latte was very unique and offered a lighter refreshing taste. We enjoyed both.

Perfect Valentine's Day Breakfast Stop…read more Every time I'm driving into Los Angeles, I stop on State Street to charge my car -- and today (February 14th ) we decided to grab breakfast while we waited. Best decision ever. We stumbled upon this adorable donut shop, and they had the cutest Valentine's-themed donuts decorated for the day. My daughter immediately chose the chocolate one. I honestly didn't think she'd love it... but she ate the entire thing without hesitation. That says everything. Of course, I grabbed some donut holes for the road -- because that's just tradition at this point -- but the real star? The bagel sandwich. I ordered a jalapeño cheddar bagel with egg, crispy bacon, tomato, red onion, and (because why not?) extra cheddar. It was DIVINE. Hands down the best bagel sandwich I've ever had. Perfectly toasted, flavorful, just the right kick from the jalapeño cheddar -- I'm still thinking about it hours later. I may have to stop again on the way home because I genuinely can't get that taste out of my mind. If you're passing through State Street, do yourself a favor and try this place. Absolute gem.

We sat outside, they brought our orders out to us. Very busy, lots of foot and parking lot traffic on Saturday morning. If that's your vibe, go there. I was just looking for a classic bacon, egg, and cheese, so luckily we found Jack's. When you walk in, it feels just like an old school neighborhood donut shop, except they're serving bagels and coffee. My bacon, egg, and cheese was delicious. I ordered it on a jalapeño cheddar bagel and it hit the spot. For a $7 bagel, this was fantastic. Filling, flavorful, and the schmear was on point. My wife, on the other hand, ordered the bagel and lox. This was a bit of a letdown. The cream cheese was delicious and the sesame bagel itself was great, but it was definitely lacking the lox. Truthfully, it felt more like a cream cheese bagel with just a little bit of salmon. That said, considering the price, it honestly makes sense. Not trying to take anything away from the place because overall it was great. The service was super friendly, attentive, and just easygoing. You could definitely tell they have regulars who come in every day because it felt like one big family in there. Last but not least, the black coffee was surprisingly fresh and bold. Nothing fancy, just a really solid cup of coffee. Would I come here again? Definitely. Anytime I'm in Santa Barbara, I'd happily stop by again.
