Mary was an amazing, fun, entertaining (lion's roar) instructor who minimized your self thoughts on "I can't do this, I'm so not good at this, I stink at yoga." By her kind, caring, empathetic comments during the class. She is an amazing instructor! Her guidance in improving postures, holds, poses was supportive and so assistive. I absolutely enjoyed what I was initially dreading to do ...yoga. The class pointed out how tight my muscles, tendons, ligaments are and how much I truly need Shri. I will definitely be returning.

I appreciate that they offered this class on election night for free and that they did not insist on a complicated registration process, just advertising on their Insta and encouraging folks to show up. The turnout was perhaps more than anticipated, and while the teacher was able to strategically make space for everyone who wanted to attend, things were a bit cramped, which made it a little less relaxing than I expected, but the teacher was great and it was still helpful to do the postures. The studio has beautiful hardwood floors, plants and is nicely decorated. It's in a part of the building that is used for the winter farmers market, so if you are used to coming to the market, this should be easy to find. I will definitely keep this studio on my yoga radar and check their class schedule for other community offerings and special pop ups. I don't think I am likely to visit regularly though because the parking situation is rough with limited street parking.

Once I got there, I was warmly greeted by the instructor. She knew it was my first time, and personally walked me through where to put my belongings, gave me a quick tour of the facility, and showed me where to find the items needed for the class. I felt right at home. The class itself was everything I had hoped for; calming, restorative, stretchy, and I left feeling amazing. The room was set to warmer than "normal" but not a hot yoga situation. I can't wait to try other classes at this location!!

Excellent yoga studio with a diversity of courses and class times…read more There is no dedicated parking for this business but if you come down Carpenter St from the west a few blocks from the studio, there is almost always easy free street parking. The studio has big beautiful windows that face Carpenter St which provide excellent natural light and sometimes some entertainment when a fire truck goes by, for example. There are also doors that lead out from the studio here that have a sign out front telling you this is West Side Yoga, but you cannot enter the building through those doors. The entrance is actually around the side on Battey St, the second door. There are quite the diversity of instructors that teach here which means you are definitely going to find someone that really clicks for you. I highly recommend Danielle, her energy is incredible and she will kick your butt in a good way. The best way to stay up to date with their classes is on the MINDBODY app. You can see who is teaching and when, and reserve a spot. The classes after 5pm tend to fill up super quick so definitely look ahead a few days if that's what works for your schedule. Lastly, West Side Yoga has an unbeatable new student deal. It's currently you can get 30 days of classes for only $30! They will be closed the week after 4th of July and they are extending all new students who already started their 30 for 30 for an extra week. This definitely speaks to how great this business is.

I've been consistently going here for a few weeks now (because they have an amazing introductory offer) and have thoroughly enjoyed the classes. I've only taken the hot power yoga classes, but have taken it with several different instructors and liked all of them. Each instructor is unique in their approach and the poses they have us go through, but for the most part they are pretty similar and have all been great. They always stick around at the end if you have any questions. I also took a private yoga session here with Caitlyn where I was able to meet with her one on one. I am still very new to yoga and wanted to know if I had the correct form for some of the poses and Caitlyn was really great in helping me through that. They offer other yoga courses too like restorative yoga and hip & back yoga, but I haven't gotten a chance to try those yet. I've had a couple of questions since joining and have reached out to the studio via email and they are always quick to respond! I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place and all the people who work here. Yoga has been my new outlet and this studio has been really good to me. Highly recommended for anyone interested in yoga whether you are a beginner or not !
