In my experience of the past 10 years, I've seen this church reaching out to local kids with the Good News of Jesus, feeding homeless people in Harrisburg, providing education and healthcare for children on the other side of the world, and returning yearly to build & renew friendships with folks in Maine whose homes the mission group has repaired. A well-attended event, supported by the community of all ages and colors, that didn't disappoint. The best part was seeing familiar faces from the Harrisburg community while enjoying some of my favorite gospel songs like "Oh When the Saints," "Hold On," and "Great Is Thy Faithfulness." There is a committee called Arts on the Square that presents musical programs throughout the year with famous international performers and an Art Gallery with works of regional and local artists. The church is also known for its care and outreach to people who have no permanent home. Volunteers operate a food pantry, provide meals in front of the church on Friday nights, and they have a breakfast every Sunday morning with the help of other churches. No one is turned away. They also know every organization in town that can help with other needs. The also have committees trying to fight racism and pollution of the planet. If you want to be involved in these activities or support them with your presence, this is the church for you!
