I don't know where to start so I'll start by saying hello my name is Greg and this is my review on…read moreBrighter Side Treatment Center. I was struggling with finding a path to recovery and bettering myself as it was nearly impossible for myself, by myself. I went to BSTC and from the second I walked through those doors I knew I was in the right place. They were more of a family towards me rather than treating me as a recovering addict. The staff was so nice there and I seriously recommend anyone needing the extra help or even the feeling of someone actually wanting to help you better you, and be there for you, visit Brighter Side Treatment Center. Thank you Brandon and Staff!

I waited so long to write this. I don't know why. I went to this doctor around october or November…read moreof last year. I told them from the VERY SECOND I walked in that I was allergic to naloxone. I have been to the ER 3 times trying to figure out what was wrong. I went to a cardiologist and a vascular surgeon all trying to figure out what was wrong with me. It turned out I was allergic to naloxone. My heart rate goes nuts and I start to feel like I'm going to pass out. My blood pressure drops. And I get dizzy. I was scared to even drive thinking I was going to pass out. I literally thought I was going to die taking suboxone. They said "ohhh that's fine! We will prescribe you subutex" I had already been on it from my previous doctor in a different state. Anyways. They make you pay and then come once every week. I paid $225 ($175 at the downstairs clinic and $50 at their clinic, which they accepted) for that month. Well the third week I come in and they all the sudden decide they don't prescribe subutex anymore. I tried to tell them I CANNOT take suboxone. I gave them the info for all of my doctors. They refused to listen to me. I wasn't even allowed to see the doctor. They just brought out a prescription for suboxone and told me I had to take it, because as the lady at the front desk said "there's no such thing as an allergy to naloxone" I showed them all the proof online that there IS an allergy. Even when you get the meds it says in the pamphlet "if you have these symptoms (all the symptoms I had) tell your doctor. I never failed a drug test. There was absolutely no reason to do this. They told me I needed to go to an allergist and prove it. I told them I absolutely would. They still refused and tried to force me to take something that almost killed me. THEN they told me they would not refund the rest of my months money. They (the lady at the desk) said "just because you don't like what a doctor says doesn't mean you get your money back" so I find a new doctor. Even more stuff happened after this but this is already too long. I have never felt so humiliated in my ENTIRE life as I did when I went to this awful place. They screwed me over worse than anyone I've ever met. And they claimed it was the "laws" but I'm 100% positive if someone has an allergy they are allowed to have subutex. And thank GOD my new doctor knows this. This blatant ignorance is going to get someone killed. The next person might not refuse the prescription of suboxone, because they are so terrified of withdrawals. I refused. I will always refuse to take something that might kill me. I don't even know what steps I could take to fight something like this but it's not right. Do NOT GO HERE. They don't care about their patients AT ALL.

He was given a medication that wasn't even FDA approved and he had a life threatening reaction which could have cost him his life. That medication made my son a zombie and he slept for a total of 38 hours urinating on himself before he had to be transported by ambulance to vanderbilt per my request after Jennie Stuart (Dr. Josh Allen) offered him zero help. If you need any type of psychiatric help for your child PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE THIS ONE. The facility is disgusting past the lobby area. I spoke with the facility CEO Bryan Webb and they took zero accountability. So as a mother who had a traumatizing experience for my child here I'd advise you to go else where. This facility isn't worth risking your child's life for the medical negligence that takes place on a daily basis.

The place treated the concerns…read moreas a joke telling me he is danger to himself and the family but isn't a danger to society YET. The weekend staff responded and was more detailed in reporting and taking information than the regular weekly staff members. Very disorganized. doctor was condescending and downplayed everything. He refused to refer him for any of the services I requested, stating he should be at least 12 before that (which is in 6 months and will mean he's being housed with children a lot older and more dangerous). I was told he needed more hospital stays for anyone to believe he needs more help. I had documentation of everything I was saying and everyone refused to review it. I was told he would actually have to act upon things he stated or work harder at harming himself before he'd qualify for more intense services.... DO BETTER! You'd rather wait until he becomes more violent and harms a peer or an entire school before allowing him to get the help he needs? WOW I spoke with the Dr one night and he told me he was going to monitor the med changes for my kiddo for the next few days in order to watch for the things my son and I had concerns of. That SAME night he told the therapist he was discharging him and that he told me he was doing that. It took 2 days for the therapist to call me back. When she did she simply told me he was being discharged and she believed what I was conveying to her, but he didn't show that stuff in the facility.... after only THREE days and not having any true expectations. I was assured we would receive amazing help from the discharge staff and that they would be our saving grace to find future services. That was a joke. They weren't aware of any suggested services by the provider. When I made them aware of it I was told all information would be on our discharge paperwork... and ignored any questions I had. At discharge the guy just kept shoving papers in my face to sign and not answering any questions I had. He just kept telling me I was getting copies and could read about it later. While I was trying to read the information then, he just kept pointing and telling me to sign here and here. I didn't receive the result from the blood work they completed until I read it on the discharge paperwork AND THEN DISCOVERED THEY DID NOT order the one level test which was the entire reason they were doing the blood draw. Per their website, I sent pictures with him. They had no frame and I knew it would bring him comfort. I discovered during our visitation, that he wasn't allowed to have them. I spoke with the staff at visitation who assured me that he would be allowed, and they would get it corrected. That never happened! He was refused access the entire time, even though he kept asking. He also came home with a small rash, no biggie, possibly a heat rash, but he told the staff about it and for 2 days was told the doctor would look at it. On the last day he was told by the doctor was too busy to stop by for something like that and it remained unchecked. The rash ended up on his back, leg and stomach. It could have been because they refused to allow him to utilize the soap I sent in. He's dye free in all ways. Not only for behaviors, but also for skin issues and physical symptoms he receives from it. They told me they were making an exception to their "no outside hygiene item" rule, THAT WAS A LIE! When looking over the documents they sent home, they contradicted themselves a few times and stated he had tendencies that were dangerous to others.... but he's not a danger, right? They also listed things that happened to him in his past (toddler age) as things of concern to watch for HIM to do, when there have NEVER been any indications of anything like that being the issue. Overall, the only thing that came out of his stay was a few days without major chaos in my home. Nice break, but not helpful! Very disappointed!
