Left my very wild puppy with them for 2.5 months. Really thought noone could train my dog and had kinda lost hope. When I picked him up he was excited and started to jump but one word from the trainer and he sat right down. Don't take your pet there. My dog was cut up with several major bite marks. He was also covered in mud. It was more like a torture kennel

Michael W.09/08/2015Edit DO NOT USE!!! 49 days of training and not even basic obedience has been taught. Has not been leash trained, has not been taught stay, still jumps at anyone....ugh. Deal was for 90 day extensive training, got a call at 30 days asking if I was ready to settle the final balance and pick them up. Reminded him that they were scheduled for 90.He said he would have to check his records and get back to me. At 45 days asked me to come check progress and pay a little more. They would not even stay on command for him. They have bite marks healing.The Expensive All Natural food I just had delivered the week before, had almost none left. I took them Home. I took my 12 week old German Shepherd puppy (who I bottle raised) and was a holy terror, to Mark and Lisa for training. She stayed 5 weeks and came back a well mannered puppy!! The old saying goes that dogs have a good sense of people, my pup loves Mark and Lisa and each picture and video I was sent reflected how happy she was there. Each time I go back (I am the one that needs the training now) my pup is excited to get out of the car to greet them with a wagging tail! :) I highly recommend Mountain Dog Boarding to anyone who wants their pup to be well taken care of and trained by professionals! :) read more

I know that no place or person can please everyone, but when I read some of these reviews, I have to wonder if the writers have personal grudges or other agendas. I'm just sayin'.... After having boarded her at Mountain Dog Boarding several times, I presented Mark with a lovable, but independent-minded and stubborn three year old dog (the question was even asked if she was hard of hearing.....she isn't) for training. Upon completion of the course, I picked up a lovable and independent-minded AND obedient dog, who now recognizes that she is part of a pack. During her stay, her care was exemplary (they even expressed concerned that I might not be feeding her enough), the staff was friendly, and the premises clean and orderly. I couldn't be more pleased. Of course, I still catch her glancing at herself in the mirror when she walks by, but you can't expect miracles! read more

My experience at this facility was outstanding. I was recommended by a friend who had 2 of their dogs trained there and continues to board there. My dog was a rescue, very shy and timid and no listening skills what so ever. After 45 days she was like a different dog. She had her confidence back, was socializing with all the other dogs, and had all her commands down pat. Mark spent alot of time with us, and every training session/visit we had you could see improvement, with her amd us!! She was an all around happier dog when she came home. A trained dog is a happy dog which makes a happy owner The faciity is beautiful and clean and one thing i really liked is everytime i went there, even just stopping in, someone was always there doing something with the dogs. My girl was never just locked up in a kennel and forgot about. I would definately go back there and would recommend everyone go see for themselves. Mark graciously took in two white german shepherds from me about four years ago during a very difficult time in my life. I was unable to handle the dogs due to my situation. I contacted him recently to see how they were doing and he replied back with where each dog had been placed, the training they had received from him, and if the family had changed their names. The male, Buck, is even featured in a picture on his website in a graduating class on his website. He was a difficult puppy to handle with a strong will who didn't do well socializing with other dogs. Just look at him in the back of Mark's truck! Buck is sitting there so obedient and looks so happy next to all those other dogs! What a testament to Mark's training. It warms my heart to see Buck so happy. I just want to say that Mark is a very kind and generous person who genuinely cares about animals and people. It's not just a business to him, it's a life calling. He remembers each animal and invests in them. He said he would take my animals in, train them, and find them a home sight unseen. He did not even know me. I still remember the day I brought them to him. His attention was totally focused on them and their care. He put one on a leash and went right to work leading him around testing his skills for obedience training. I was very impressed with the attention he paid to them. I knew they would be loved and cared for in the right way. That meant the world to me. Mark is earning his angel wings on Earth every day.
