When we booked mountain home lodges Pounder Rock cabin, we were excited for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of full-time jobs, kids, and pets. What we didn't know was what a special place Kathy and Brad had created for their guests. Our adventure started once we headed up a gravel road. At first, we thought we'd take a wrong turn - but no sooner that thought than a sign on a tree, "Mountain Home Lodge 2.2miles." We knew we were on the right track. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Sierra and Millie, the MHL doggies. Brad came out with Carlos to say hi, ask if we needed anything- and loaded up our things to take to the cabin. Brad made sure we knew how the things worked, turned on the music, and left us to settle in. The cabin was perfect! Chairs in front of the fireplace, fluffy king-sized bed, large jacuzzi tub, rocking chairs and table on the porch, and a comfy couch in the loft to watch a movie. Small details were not missed - light toiletries, kurieg, and coffee. Blankets on every chair inside and out and plenty of towels. Did I mention the water pressure was awesome!? Around 5:30, we headed to the Lodge for appetizers prepared by Kathy- squash soup shots with crustini, cream cheese, strawberries, and a balsamic glaze. The view was amazing while we munched on our goodies. Kathy and Brad are so friendly and full of easy conversation. After appetizers, we headed back to our cabin and played a couple round of chess - the upstairs hutch had a few games for us to play. We fired up the jacuzzi tub and enjoyed a drink while basking in the mountain. Millie and Sierra stopped by to say goodnight, which we loved being dog people. We sat on the porch with them and watched the sky change from light to dark. In the mornings, there is a delightful breakfast offered. Everything was delicious. Kathy and Brad made lovely recommendations for things to do and food to eat. We were considering a hike, and millie and Sierra offered to come along. Unfortunately, we didn't have time for a hike- but we will definitely go with them next time! While we ate breakfast in the lodge, we decided to check out the mountain with the binoculars. I think my husband spent most of his time peering at the mountain with the binoculars at the Lodge and cabin. But like I said, the small touches make this place special. It's definitely a wonderful place to unplug. The quiet, views, and accommodations are amazing. We JUST got home from MHL. My husband and I stayed two wonderful nights there, perched up on the mountain, away from the hustle and bustle of the Oktoberfest celebration going on downtown, but still close enough to walk in or take a cab (we did both) when we wanted to get in on the fun. As parents of a 3 year old and a 1 year old, we have not felt this relaxed in a LONG time. Brad and Kathy have thought of literally everything. Need a wine opener? No problem. Champagne chiller? You got it. Trail maps, walking sticks, snow shoes, movies to watch, games to play.... no problem. It's all there for guests to borrow. We stayed in the Mountain Trout room, which was nicely appointed with a queen bed, super plush carpet, comfy robes, oversized towels, and really nice sheets. As we were lucky enough to squeeze in after someone else canceled, we didn't get our pick of a room, but we didn't mind at all. Included in our rate was a healthy and delicious breakfast made by the lodge chef, using many ingredients harvested from the property. We were also treated to complimentary appetizers and wine in the evenings. It was divine. Brad and Kathy take great pride in the lodge and love to share their knowledge of the local area, from where to have dinner or where to hike. Like another reviewer said; nothing feels fake. You feel like a welcomed guest in a very comfortable setting, and you leave feeling like you have made new friends. A nice touch was the balloons that were in our room upon our arrival. They knew we were there for an anniversary and this was a very sweet gesture. We also found a small bottle of port waiting for us in our room each evening. A typical day was waking up, enjoying the lovely breakfast and views, chatting with the hosts and other guests, hiking the trails immediately behind the lodge (We did the Peshastin Lookout; approximately 5 miles RT and spectacular) with the resident dog "Millie", coming back for a soak in the outdoor hot tub, then walking or driving into downtown for shopping, dinner (if not eating at the lodge), or Oktoberfest shenanigans, then back to the lodge for a game of cards in the media room. Like a million stars. We had such a great time. Everything was so thoughtful and perfect, and the views and wildlife, and wine and cheese, and food, were amazing. Brad and Kathy were such gracious and interesting, wonderful hosts and people. We would've loved to take them to dinner. I bought a t-shirt which is also now my favorite shirt. A thousand feet closer to heaven indeed. The charming Bed and breakfast hold a very dear place in my heart as it reminded me so much of my childhood and growing up in the woods. It's feel like HOME!!! Fresh bake breakfast, watching the blue jay outside the window while opera is playing or an early evening happy hour and h'deourves watching the sunset behind the mountain range. Brad, Kathy and their daughter(who has the same birthday as my husband) are the nicest and genuine inn keepers you would ever meet. I love the secret garden in the back and a nice stroll in the woods right on the property. Brad and Kathy also made wonderful recommendation for us during our stay. It's been a couple of weeks since we stayed at the lodge. It was such a relaxing experience, Brad and Kathy were terrific hosts. The views of the Cascade Mountains was absolutely breathtaking. We hiked to the top of the overlook and was rewarded with wonderful views. Worth the moderately difficult hike? Due to elevation changes, for part of the hike. Must partake in happy hour, drinks an garden fresh appetizers made by Kathy. The complimentary breakfast was included eggs sausage fresh fruit and yogurt. Mountain Home Lodge is a spectacular getaway. Located 1,000 feet above Leavenworth, WA, the views are spectacular. The accommodations (currently limited to two cabins) are top tier, and in keeping with the mountain theme. The hosts, Brad and Kathy Schmidt, are most gracious and accommodating. The appointments in the cabins are top class, with breakfast in the morning and wine and hors D' oeuvres in the evening included. There's a two night minimum, and although not cheap, it's worth every penny. The two dogs, Sierra and Millie, come to greet you upon arrival and hang out with you in the morning and evening. They will even go on hikes with you. Although there are sometimes elk in the meadow, we missed them this time. We did see some deer and marmots though. I would highly recommend the lodge for a relaxing time away! read more

1000 feet above Leavenworth, Washington is where you will find Mt Home Lodge. We have vacationed there on a semi-regular basis since 1997. The lodge has only 11 rooms. New additions were two cabins which are wonderful. The views are marvelous, but it is Brad and Kathy Schmidt (the innkeepers) who make MHL what it is today. The greatest place for a couple to get away to and still free like they are in the warm embrace of "home". FOOD glorious FOOD! As a dinner restaurant, MHL is a five star establishment. On occasion, usually in the non-winter seasons, lodge guests will sometimes foolishly venture into Leavenworth for dinner rather than stay for Tom's delicacies. This frees up a table or two for "outsiders" to make the rough road drive up to the lodge and partake of the evening's fare. You must call ahead to assure a table and remember this might be a rare treat. There is no possible way that I could do justice to the meals Chef Tom prepares. Relaxation in the mountains! My husband and I recently stayed here over NYE and it was such a wonderful stay. Our agenda = to simply relax. And that's exactly what we did. OVERALL: The owners are so, so, SO friendly and accommodating. Anything you wanted, they'd oblige. It was so nice to go somewhere and not have to worry about anything. During the winter, when Leavenworth is usually blanketed in soft, flurried feet of snow, the MHL offers an all-inclusive rate. Meaning, your breakfast, lunch, happy hour, dinner, dessert, and even snacks (popcorn and root beer floats, anyone?) are included in your nightly room rate. And most activities (snowmobiling excluded) are included as well. Unfortunately, for us, there has been very little snow up here, but that did not damper our mini-retreat to the mountains (or the sledding)! Brad will even drive you into the village for a day-trip if you like. FOOD: The food is so delicious! And that's coming from one obscenely picky eater. But everything was noms. When I was making the booking, Brad had asked if I had any food allergies and I told him I didn't really an allergy (although I am partially lactose-intolerant), but rather (and don't hate me here) I'm not crazy for cheese. Mostly, I cannot handle the stronger cheeses; white cheese is my friend. I had totally forgotten he asked this and when we arrived and sitting down for our first dinner, I was reviewing their daily printed menu and noticed there was going to be bleu cheese in the salad. I figured I'd just have to take the pieces out (like I usually have to do), but when the salad came, Breklyn served me a delightful plate of salad sans those strong cheesy crumbles. Ahhh, they take care of EVERYTHING. It only got better from then on; even during lunch, the chef would bring out a separate sandwich he made for me with no cheese. How awesome is that? Amazing customer service here. AMAZING. I did note that they also took care of anyone who had real food issues (like gluten-free or vegetarian). Very nice. ROOM: We booked the Cascade Suite as it was the only one available during the times we wanted to stay. It was such a nice room; the bathroom was equipped with a two-seater jacuzzi, it had a large gas fireplace (keeping us toasty), and it had breathtaking views of the Cascade Mountains, which were perfectly enjoyed from even the bed. BOTTOM LINE: If you're seeking a place to just unplug and unwind, I highly recommend the MHL. read more

I visited this lodge November 2019 and it was absolutely spectacular! The grounds are so beautiful and the property felt like a warm and cozy home. The two dogs on the premise were so nice and I saw them happily lead the way for others to hike the trails nearby. The light hors d'oeuvres and breakfast options were delicious. I like the selection of board games as well. The keepers of the lodge were very friendly. I recently took a trip to Leavenworth and had an awful experience staying at Abendblume. I remembered just how amazing my last stay in Leavenworth was in 2019 so I just had to write a review because I really appreciate all the effort the owners of Mountain Home Lodge put into their place that made me feel so welcomed! read more

I could not believe how amazing this place is. The Saturday night dinner was absolutely amazing. The owners could not be kinder they know your name and walk you to your room and show you around. The room will have a small bottle of port waiting for you to have a sip before bed and you will sleep like a baby. This is the place you should stay if you want to totally relax. Going to Mountain Home Lodge for a quick weekend getaway was SO worth it. It's only 2.5 hrs from Seattle and the owners Kathy and Brad are everything everyone else has already said. Super kind, friendly, and great at what they do - providing a ultra relaxing experience in the most beautiful setting with as many activities at your disposal should you even want to do anything. There is zero pressure. And yes, the food is incredible. No hype there. The best part though?! MILLIE! The sweetest lab mix who is definitely her own woman but such a sweetheart. How are there only 7 reviews!? Fail people, epic fail. Ok so I spent 15 years employed in luxury level hospitality. I've done it all, and seen it all. I complain about SOMETHING (under my breath) no matter where I stay, because I'm a snob. I can't help it, it's what happens when you work in the industry. I see everything...you see only maybe half of what I see. Don't be offended, it's just the truth. But I digress... My wife and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary at the Mountain Home Lodge. We picked it for it's location, and serenity. It's close to home, which makes an easy trip. I couldn't find one thing I didn't love LOVE about this place. The food is delightful. The owners/service of this place is bar none. I've had my own personal butler at the St Regis in NY and this lodge still blows that place away. Because here, it's genuine. I'll pay for that all day long. Beautiful hiking trails, with a sweet dog that will gladly accompany you (off leash, she just leads you, it's adorable). You're close to Leavenworth and yet you feel very secluded. Two main things that impressed me greatly: 1) my wife has a severe nut allergy, which was noted before arrival. Every. Single. Person on staff knew about it, knew her by name and the Chef made sheets of the granola just for her. Unreal. 2) the idea of being in a B&B as the only gay couple isn't always an easy task. People can be weird, especially when you're in a quiet/remote setting. The staff here made us feel right at home, introduced us around and broke all ice. It wasn't our plan to do it this way, but we've decided to spend every other anniversary at MHL just because we couldn't believe for the price we paid...what we got. Loved this place so much, I got married there. It was a destination wedding--my entire family lives out of state--and everyone complained about the 2.5 hour drive from Seattle to Leavenworth. But once they got there, people couldn't shut up about how gorgeous this place is--and how wonderful the service is--and how they didn't want to leave! Kathy and Brad are amazing at wedding planning--they don't miss a single detail. I grew up in a huge metropolitan city--so I have big city standards for things being updated, modern, and over-the-top service oriented, and Mountain Home Lodge did not disappoint. A couple of our guests loved this place so much they decided to stay a couple of extra days. I'm allergic to wheat and they even made me a wheat-free cake for my wedding--unheard of! And you have to try their granola. It's amazing. Can't say enough good things about this place. My only word of caution: I wasn't super pleased with any of the vendors I used on their list for my florist, DJ, etc., but there aren't a ton of options to choose from out there--so you might need to do a little more digging or get creative. And don't forget that if you're not getting married in the summer, you'll need to string extra lights at night across the lower grass area. And, they only have a liquor license for beer and wine. YOU MUST TRY THE ZIPLINE COURSE! My friends and I had a delightful morning as the most charming guides led us through their new Zipline course. We felt safe, had fun, and met some great people as we sailed through trees, water, and mountaints. I had NO idea what to expect. Honestly, I thought we would ride one line and then go home. Oh, no! There are 7 or 8 different lines, each a different length and different angle and all thrilling. It is worth every dime, takes about 4 hours, and is limited to parties of 8. Get your friends together and go. Mountain Home Lodge has always been a great Leavenworth destination. It is nice to see this added attraction. It will no doubt become extremely popular. read more

This place was beyond amazing. Not only are the views iconic and breath taking, but the staff brings the experience to a whole new level. We stayed at mountain home in the winter for New Years and were welcomed with a cracklings fire place, warm drinks and an ever welcoming host and hostess. The experience in the winter is all inclusive, so not only is food included but so are the winter activities and equipment as well as games, movies and music. I'm not one to write reviews, but here goes... This is a beautiful place, and the owners are very gracious and eager to please. They are available anytime to get directions, ask for recommendations, etc. They are an amazingly friendly and hospitable couple!! Thanks Kathy & Brad!! The appetizers are amazing. When I made my reservation they asked if any food allergies. I told them I was gluten intolerant and from the time I arrived, they have completely accommodated me... Even making gluten free cookies for me. A couple things that were not as pleasant... 1) I'm unaccustomed to staying in bed and breakfast places and it seems a little too cozy for me. I'd prefer not waking up to the person above me showering and hearing their every footstep across the room. 2) While relaxing and reading in the bed, one of the staff members accidentally walked in my room. He stared at me for a minute and I said... "Excuse me?", he mumbled "sorry" and closed my door and walked away. 3) I do not like bugs of any sort and we had quite a few in our room. I asked if there was anything to be done about them. I was told that Brad would come vacuum them, and he did... Promptly. When these things were brought to their attention, Brad and Kathy were very apologetic & eager to make it right. read more

This place is excellent and well worth the money. It is a private, secluded lodge situated in a spot with a beautiful view of the Cascades. The room and lodge itself is a perfect blend of contemporary and rustic style. It has a cozy 'home' feeling but it is modern with a stylish bathroom and large stone shower. I stayed in the Mountain View room. The service from Brad and Kathy (owners) is excellent. You'll be hard pushed to find kinder, more gracious hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. Kathy would make us tea as late as 9pm, and Brad printed out a trail map and marked it for us explaining in detail where we could go and what to expect. They always offered to help or provide however they could. Appetisers are served in the evening and are delicious. I had crackers and a tasty salmon dip, as well as bread with prosciutto, tomato jam etc and it was divine. They offered complimentary wines with the appetisers. I do not usually spend a lot on hotels but this is definitely worth the price and I will be going there again. The environment is warm, friendly, and it is a great atmosphere. I'd go back to Leavenworth just to stay at this lodge. I expect I will be in the winter. read more

This lodge is amazing! My husband and I traveled here for our 6 year anniversary and I'm so glad we did. We luckily arrived right after the first large snow and were able to go snow shoeing along with enjoying the views from the lodge. It was extremely beautiful. Along with this, the owners and staff are the most polite and caring hotel/lodge owners that I have ever met. They care about all the customers, their staff, and everyone is in a good mood. And it doesn't feel fake like a lot of places can feel. The food was amazing. It feels like you are dining at a five star restaurant. They care about any dietary needs you have and will customize anything as long as you tell them ahead of time. I'm allergic to nuts and a vegetarian and they made sure my meals were substituted if needed. I will definitely be coming here again. I stayed in the lodge but hope to some day stay in one of the cabins. read more

We just got back from our stay at Mountain Home Lodge and could not have been happier with our experience. Brad and Kathy are incredible hosts, with wonderful recommendations. The breakfast and happy hour noses were fantastic and homemade. There are miles of hiking trails right from the resort, so you don't have to fight the crowds. Be forewarned - the hotel is about 2.5 miles up an unpaved road, so it isn't easy to zip in and out of town. But if you are looking for quiet outside the crowds, this is a great place to stay. read more

If you're seeking a quiet getaway in an exquisitely beautiful and peaceful setting, with hosts who are genuinely lovely, warm and friendly (without being annoyingly in-your-face), Mountain Home Lodge is the place for you!! My husband and I have stayed here many times since our honeymoon in 2005 and every visit soothes the soul and invigorates the mind. I feel funny even reviewing the place, because it's like reviewing my family! So many activities are available right outside the door, and Brad and Kathy will provide most of the gear that you need to play, any time of the year. They also are generous with local recommendations for other fun things to do or restaurants to try. They will do anything they can to accommodate whatever need you have. During one visit, my husband and I got a little lost on one of the nearby trails and we called Brad for help. He promptly sent Brecklyn out on a 4-wheeler to find us!! We have stayed in several different rooms at the Lodge and once in a cabin. All are exceptionally warm, comfy and cozy, with all the amenities you would expect from a high-end lodge. During our last visit, we brought our bikes and drove to Wenatchee (about 20 minutes away) to ride the 10-mile riverfront trail. We can't wait for our next visit! read more

Chef Ron, who does all the meals, is superbly talented, and if you have any dietary concerns, he creates a cuisine to fit your needs. My husband and I are both vegan, and he made some amazing vegan meals for us. The beautiful setting is completely breathtaking. This review has 2 parts: first is a strange interaction I had with the woman who was the..owner I'm guessing? She was running the place. The second part is about the rest of the stay. The interaction: I'd called a couple days before the stay to find out what time breakfast went on. It was late for my taste and expressed my disappointment to the gent on the phone, but I was happy to bring my own protein bars for nourishment before my all day run. The owner gent insisted that they'd have simple stuff ready for us at 7 am instead of 8, and I was surprised and happy with that. Didn't bring the bars. On the morning of the run me and my then-partner arrived for 7 am granola and milk but the woman insisted that brekkie was at 8 and no sooner. The man I spoke with wasn't there at the time, so I mentioned my conversation with the man a couple days earlier and she responded that there was no way that would have happened, which left me feeling very weird about her and our stay. So, she called me a liar to my face. I really wanted to say something more to her: A. don't call your customers liars, B - I'm not asking for much, only what was promised and C - you should communicate better with others since it did indeed happen. I had felt a slight condescension from her from the start, but was willing to put that aside and take her at face value (she was very polite) up until that interaction. At that point she was intolerable. It was a strange interaction and the sole reason I won't go back. There are SO many other positive ways she could have handled that, and she didn't even address the issue later. So, sorry MHL, I won't be coming back. I chose to let go of the interaction. We stuck around for the 8 am breakfast which was fantastic, and I didn't let her treatment stain any of the rest of my stay, but I won't be going back. Everything else: it was superb. read more

I've travelled all over the world and have rarely experienced this kind of gracious hospitality: extraordinary food, haute cuisine, quiet... Our room had a breathtaking view of the Cascades. We hiked the trails just adjacent to the lodge. A measure of true quality: very little need to leave the lodge. The hot tub and pool were perfect temperatures. The Chef, Ron, from our state, New Jersey, prepared breakfast to die for. All from scratch. Wine and appetizers in the evening were equally impressive. It's very hard to find anything to criticize about this place. Cathy and Brad run a first class lodge and we plan to return for a winter experience. read more

My husband and I have been coming here for over 10 years. I thought it was about time to thank Brad and Kathy for sharing their piece of paradise with us and all the people who need to relax and recharge. We never want to leave because of how pampered we feel. We love the breakfasts and the wine and appetizers in the late afternoon. Since we like to make an evening of it, we always order more food to follow such as the salmon dinners, salads, or the so delicious charcuterie plate which they create special for us because we don't eat red meat. We also always order sack lunches to either take on a hike or have them waiting for us when we get back. It's a bit of a splurge to stay in one of the two cabins but it's worth it for the views and privacy. We stayed here last August during the pandemic and it was great having our own little cabin and only one other couple at the resort. They made every effort to keep us safe during these tough times with deep cleaning and face masks. We really appreciated that. read more

What makes this place so special? It's kindness and warmth. Brad and Kathy have something amazing here nestled in the mountains looking over Leavenworth. They are personally involved in every aspect of your stay to ensure you are getting everything you are looking for. Hopefully, it's finding ways to unload pounds of stress. The bumpy snowcat takes you a couple miles up the road to the lodge where you be greeted with a smile and a warm cookie. The lodge feels very homey with one of the largest fireplaces I've seen in a lodge this size. Large windows throughout allow for breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the 1700 foot sledding hill. The hot tub is on the deck. Snowshoes and Xcountry skis are down below with the media room complete with large screen TV, comfy chairs and millions of DVDs. If you stay in the winter months, guests can anticipate amazing breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Happy hour with complimentary wine or craft beer and appetizers get the night started. The menu for dinner is printed at the front desk. The food was excellent and they will accommodate those with dietary restrictions. We brought some wine, but they have a nice selection. Brad set us up with maps, sunglasses (I forgot mine) and sunscreen. They filled our camel back with ice water and we Trekked only 10 of the 20 miles of trails on the property complete with amazing views and selfie opportunities. We wrapped up in blankets and sat in the deck with a frosty mug and really relaxed for the first time in too long. I've stayed in a lot of places. Mountain Home Lodge - Dinner menu - Hotels Near Me - Leavenworth, Washington

The instant my husband and I saw this place, we fell in love with it and decided we wanted to book our wedding there. We reserved the whole facility for family and wedding party, and everyone raved about it. As a matter of fact, that was in 2007, and friends and family are STILL raving about what a gorgeous wedding and wonderful location it was. Everyone showed up a couple of days early and enjoyed the comfortable rooms, extensive hiking trails, and fantastically relaxing location, as well as the fabulous town of Leavenworth down below. And, the wedding went off without a hitch (even the weather gods cooperated - sunshine in April!). I still call it my Fairy Tale wedding, and I still reminisce about how wonderful it was, wishing I had an excuse to do the whole thing all over again! Brad and Kathy were amazing, and Kathy may as well be a wedding coordinator, as she did so much work coordinating my vendors and helping me and everyone involved make the wedding go as smoothly as possible. I was never stressed out or nervous, the whole occasion was one of the happiest of my life. My husband and I wanted to book a vacation for the following year immediately after the wedding, but we ended up with a tiny baby at our 1yr anniversary, so that didn't work out (but the baby was a fantastic surprise!). read more

Mountain Home Lodge is located in a fantastic setting. Great views, miles of hiking trails, lovely swimming pool. And I haven't even been there in its prime winter season. But what makes it a really superlative place isthe hosts Kathy and Brad. Do try to arrange your visit when Tom is cooking dinner. He's a wonderful cook, a much better alternative to going into Leavenworth or Wenatchee. So the thing about Kathy & Brad is that they really know how discover who you are and what makes you feel treasured. They do it in such a way as to seem very genuine--like they really want to know what you think and what you'd like to do. Then they have good suggestions about where to hike, where to eat. read more

I imagine I would have given this lodge additional stars if I had visited in the winter. The snow would have added a magical touch. The changing leaves were beautiful, but it felt like something was missing. Perhaps some of the lodge's energy. There are a dozen winter activities to do there, and I hope to someday return and experience a few. The night we stayed at the lodge there was no dinner service, which was disappointing. What made up for it, though, was the fantastic breakfast included in the rate. The innkeepers provide an excellent homemade breakfast of yogurt, homemade granola, excellent eggs, a homemade apple streudal, bagels, vegetables, fruit, etc. On another note, if you like B&Bs this is a great place for you. I happened to overlook that detail and found myself feeling strange unpacking in a room that felt like little Mickey's old bedroom. Not that the decor was suggestive of a child's bedroom, but the close quarters to the other bedrooms and the library-quiet feeling of the lodge made it feel a bit inauthentic for me. I like staying at a place I can really unwind and relax, not where I feel I must be in bed by 10pm and tip toe around. When I return I'll likely try to reserve the private cabin, to gain the privacy I felt was missing. read more

This place is exquisite. Stay was comfortable, food was out of this world, and Brad and Kathy are truly the best hosts we've ever experienced. Snow shoeing, sledding, hiking, games, time by the large fire, reading are just some of the memorable moments at this incredible place. 5 stars for the wonderful hosts, and their gracious approach, and willingness to accommodate dietary restrictions. 5 stars for the location and the trails, view and surroundings. 3 stars for the lodge room - they are on the small side and the walls are thin. If you bring earplugs, you'll sleep fine, and won't be bothered by other guests conversations. All in all, would definitely come back. read more

I took a chance on reviewing their website and talked with Brad and decided it was worth a try and I was very pleased. The hospitality is just right, not too much, but very attentive. The mountain setting is unlike I had experienced. Hiking trails starting on their property! Swimming pool. A absolutely exquisite breakfast. Hat off to the chef. Quiet. The view is nothing short of spectacular. And the drive into Leavenworth is short and all the amenities that one needs. Just fabulous. read more

A great private location with a wonderful Chef. The food is simply incredible. We stay there whenever we come to Leavenworth, but our friends with kids don't stay there because they don't take kids. But, for a dinner getaway this is where they go too. read more

I cannot say enough good things about the Mountain Home Lodge. After endless hours of searching through hotels and bed and breakfasts I almost gave up and was going to plan a trip elsewhere. That was until I found the Mountain Home Lodge website. The other hotels in and around Leavenworth are quite Bavarian as expected but also extremely tacky and just plain dirty looking. The Mountain Home Lodge is anything but with beautiful landscapes, a cozy room and quiet spaces. What I love the most about this place aside from the space and location is the fact that they do NOT allow kids under the age of 16 unless they rent the entire space. This allows the rest of us to enjoy all that the lodge has to offer in a peaceful state. We celebrated our ten year anniversary here and could not have had a better time. The dinner was exquisite, the gourmet breakfasts were to die for (pumpkin pancakes!? AWESOME) and the staff was very kind and accommodating. They have miles and miles of hiking trails that we took full advantage of and their trail dog Millie enjoyed every mile with us. We didn't even need to invite her, she saw us walking and came right along! It made me feel right at home. I highly recommend this lodge for anyone who loves peace and quiet in a beautiful space surrounded by gorgeous landscape. Absolutely breathtaking. read more
