The location is also very convenient as it's close to some good restaurants as well as larger stores such as Target and Best Buy. Pretty good for a quick two-night stay before moving on with my travels. If the remodel does address these issues, then I'd say this is safely a 4/5 or maybe even a 5/5. However based on my only experience there, I can't really give it more than a 3/5.

I didn't use this in my two days here but could see how it could be really useful to travelers. There's an included breakfast every morning which was pretty decent. They have hot options like scrambled eggs, omelettes, pancakes, oatmeal, as well as the typical breads, pastries, cereals you get in a continental breakfast. I went with yogurt and fruit and granola every day which was very nice. The fruit is the typical mix you get out of a bucket, heavy on the cantaloupe and honeydew which was a tad slimy and tart. Overall though, it was super convenient to have this spread and it's really a lot nicer than a lot of other breakfasts you get at other hotels. Cozy couch. Views of the mountains in the distance. So we stopped and a very nice young man (I think his name is Isaac) let me know that they had to change our room, ok no big deal, then told me our 2 queen room was now a 1 king room. My friend and I don't share a bed, not ever. So I told him that wouldn't work and he let me know the manager moved everything around so I asked to speak to the manager, she came out and pretty much said too bad, that's all we have. I explained that I made my reservation months ago and one bed is not acceptable, she then said we will give you a king and a pull out sofa bed. I declined that and she told me she would help us find a room elsewhere and I told her that was fine. I was also in my phone looking for another hotel in the area. She came out a few minutes later letting me know she had to move a lot of things around but was able to find a 2 queen room. Like she did me a favor. There was no apology for our inconvenience or anything. She was so rude! Isaac and the lady working the breakfast were the only nice people we came across. All of the other front desk agents seemed put out when we stopped to ask a question, the young lady working the front desk when we checked out was playing on her phone and had her AirPods in her ear. I am a little delayed by a few months in posting this review. Nothing stands out as particularly over the top at this Fairfield Inn compared to any other on the planet. With that, the exceptions to my statement are the low dresser type piece of furniture below the TV that made it incredibly easy to open up luggage and work out of suitcases versus putting stuff in drawers (which I prefer). Additionally, the moderately interesting pull down shade with a mural of trees and leaves versus a solid panel (way to make something that is uninteresting more intentionally eye catching). The view out my hotel window was the hauntingly quiet and vast lands of the Federal Center buildings which seem desolate and unoccupied. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable though, so all good. As a woman traveling alone, I felt safe and welcomed here from the parking lot to my door latching and closing upon going to retire for the night. Breakfast was standard and moderately uninteresting, but on course for what you would expect at a Fairfield and coffee is hot. When in doubt, there is a Starbucks within maybe a 5 minute walk, in addition to a Mad Greens for the health conscious eater like myself. Not a bunch to walk around and see and having a car seems imperative at this Fairfield Inn. I did use the gym a few times, which was set up with towels and water for my refillable container (the water I expect, the towels I do not). I would say the gym is a bit larger than one would expect for this class of hotel. Plenty of mirrors and plenty of sunlight make the space feel large. So although only giving out a 3 star, it is a positive 3 star at that.

The AC and heater work and have not been noisy during any of our trips. Mobile check-in and mobile keys mean that you don't have to talk to anyone on the way in (which is probably a plus for the staff since we're usually arriving pretty late and straight from a 12-14 hour drive). An interesting touch is that there is a QR code in the room that you can use to tip the staff. That way, you're not having to carry cash for tips or head to the front desk to break larger bills. There is a desk with a comfortable chair where I can work if I am doing that on a particular visit. There are a pair of elevators that are a little slow and can get congested when the hotel is full and it is peak checkout or breakfast time, but I think there are only 4 floors, so if you're in a hurry, taking the stairs is not a big problem when you're just popping down for food or otherwise not carrying luggage. As for the location, it is adjacent to the Colorado Mills mall and has pretty easy access to the highway. I think the parking is still free, though I have had my son drop me off the last couple of visits, so I am not 100% certain. If you're a Marriott loyalty member, you can get the "enhanced" (faster?) internet for free. That works well, but the "regular" free internet also works fine for us, especially if I am not having to take video calls for work. There are several power outlets in the room that are conveniently located near tables or other shelf-like surfaces. (No having to charge tour devices on the floor). I keep coming back here, so I must think it is at least "OK" :)

We learned that this occurs often because people ignore the no smoking rule and light up in their rooms. I suggest that you provide a statement to each guest at sign in that says "There is no smoking allowed in the rooms. If you set off an alarm that results in fire department fines to the hotel, these charges will be added to your bill." That protects the rest of us guests from price increases due to fines that the hotel may have to pay for each false alarm due to smokers.

I asked to change rooms but it was impossible since they were booked solid, so I settled for standing at the window and giving them all the "Kubrick stare" until they got creeped out and shut up. The room itself was spacious enough for two and the beds were comfy. The air conditioning worked well and the water pressure in the shower was good. Plenty of parking, too. One star off because they didn't have many gluten free breakfast options outside of fruit and hard boiled eggs, but I expect in 10 yrs when we all have various degrees of allergies and gluten intolerance, the options will be better.

I arrived just before midnight with my two children after completing mobile check-in through the Marriott Bonvoy app earlier and having a confirmed reservation. After multiple trips between the front desk and the room because our key would not work, staff finally opened the door--only for us to discover that another guest was already staying in the room that had been assigned to us. At that point, my children were exhausted and ready for bed. Instead of resolving the situation, I was told there were no rooms available for us, despite my confirmed reservation. It was incredibly upsetting to be standing in a hotel lobby late at night with two tired children and nowhere to sleep. To make matters worse, I watched other guests check in after me while I was being told there was no room for my family. The hotel ultimately sent us to a Comfort Inn at another location. We didn't have a car and had to arrange transportation in the middle of the night. By the time we arrived, it was 2am. The replacement hotel was old, dirty, and nowhere near the quality of the hotel I had booked. My children had difficulty sleeping, and what should have been a restful night became a frustrating and exhausting ordeal. I was promised that a manager would contact me to discuss what happened, but that call never came. No explanation, no accountability, and no attempt to make things right. Families depend on hotels to provide the basic security of knowing they have a room waiting for them at the end of a long day. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. Being left without a room after midnight with two children despite a confirmed reservation is something no family should have to experience. Gold Elite status, confirmed reservation, checked in with room assigned all meant nothing.

They have 3-4 hot item, breads, yogurt, juices, dairy & nondairy milks, 2 Belgian waffle makers, 3 types of fresh fruits, 3 types of cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, & coffee. There is ample seating just in front of the breakfast buffet/dining room, so you'll have no problem finding a table & chairs, and you can spread out while enjoying breakfast. Last but not least, I love the gym with 24 hour access. It has elliptical machines, treadmills, free weights, & 2 weight benches, adequate for a full workout.
