Liz does not answer her phone, does not return voicemails, and does not answer back to emails - makes it really hard to schedule...

Sometimes the front office staff is questionable on their attitudes it's kind of hit or miss with who is at the front but recently they have been ok up there.

I asked for a referral for an occupational therapist for my son, the first one they sent started texting me to see if we could go to their house at 6 or 7 pm for the therapy, no thank you. The second one, not in my network so I called back 14 days ago trying to see about getting a new referral. Since then, it's been a complete run around. "We will call Medicaid to get them to accept that therapist" the next day "I'm sorry I don't see anything in your chart about a referral, what is this for" the next day "the office manager will call you in 24 hours about this referral" and so on and so forth. Just called today to be told "the office manager actually won't be calling you because they are on vacation until April and the doctor your kid sees is also unavailable until April" even though we was supposed to have an appointment this morning. If you didn't want to service us anymore, it would have been much easier to just say that instead of giving me the run around for two entire weeks. Went to look for the picture from the day we received the referral to the place that isn't in our network and it looks like this has actually been going on for MORE than two weeks! I would have given one star but I actually like dr. Zagala and the way the care was given, the office staff, follow up visits and everything else just failed us truly.

As a healthy patient with lab readings all in the normal range, I didn't really find the need to go see him other than those yearly visits. All the other months I wasn't seeing him I still paid the $60 monthly fee which amounted to $720 a year for one annual physical and bloodwork. It wasn't really cost effective. Direct primary care sounds good in theory. But having a pay per month membership fee (as opposed to a patient paying only for the services that are used) makes it a costly proposition for those who are in good health. I was basically subsidizing the cost of the people who were more regular visitors, which is the same idea as insurance (albeit with a benefit of less paperwork and bureaucracy). With the few times I did visit Dr. Hawkes the office was friendly and professional. But I found that the practice wasn't a good fit for me. Not everything he was communicating to me was accurate to my situation and I disagreed with some of his views. I would totally recommend him though for a patient who needs help treating diabetes, heart issues or any other common conditions (that don't require a specialist). If a person needs guidance from a physician in losing weight, he is the ideal person to go see.

We had originally scheduled an annual physical for my daughter, but due to the doctor canceling on the day of the appointment, I agreed to see a Registered Nurse Joanne Wennstrom instead. During this visit, I mentioned a concern that my daughter's legs appeared to be bending inward, and I asked if this was something she would likely grow out of. I was concerned by the lack of a proper clinical assessment. The nurse did not ask my daughter to walk or perform any functional movements to observe her gait; she simply looked at her feet and immediately referred us to a podiatrist. Upon visiting the recommended specialist, we waited for over an hour only to be informed that this is a very common developmental stage for a two-year-old and that most children grow out of it naturally. I am disappointed that a nurse practicing in pediatrics did not recognize this common developmental trait, leading to an unnecessary and time-consuming specialist referral. Furthermore, I was dismayed to find that this appointment was billed as a diagnostic visit rather than an annual physical check-up. I am disappointed by the lack of professional judgment shown by the staff, which resulted in a waste of my time and unnecessary stress. I cannot recommend this office to other parents
