ATTENTION: The tickets for a visit to the house are being sold in the small ticket booth adjacent to the car park! Not inside the house itself! Kedleston Hall might not be as spectacular as some other family-owned mansions in England (Castle Howard in Yorkshire comes to mind!), but it is well worth a short trip. The rooms have all been restored to their 18th/19th century glory, and there are enough of them to keep you occupied for about an hour and a half. See my photos. Once you're done with the house, don't forget to visit the small church attached to it. It's very beautiful indeed. And you should definitely stroll through the large garden area in good weather, a fine place to unwind. The entry price (UKP 15 for an adult) is a bit steep, I must admit, but there are family options available. In the side wing you will find a small café with outside seating that offers scones and other typical English tea time niceties, and also some small meals.

However, their formal shirts are of excellent quality, comfortable and smart looking, I regularly buy them for work. The rest of the store is punctuated with the occasional DVD and CDs ranges, as well as items like shortbread, blankets etc. The staff are always helpful and friendly, theres always a sale on, but for me this is a place where I only ever buy one type of item.

This store is one of the best vintage clothing stores around and it seems quite popular with a particular scene. I really enjoy visiting for fashion inspiration mostly. I do not usually buy things from here because they are way too over priced but are usually in great condition. They also sell new clothing and accessories too which is very appealing. The staff are not generally chatty but seem friendly to talk to if you purchase something. I found something i had been looking for, for a while quite recently and i was very surprised they had it.

In other words, the opposite end of the spectrum to Blacks or Millets. Come here if you need to buy a waterproof jacket, walking boots or maps. There's a cafe upstairs too, which is very popular on wet days with walkers and climbers. It's ok, but nothing to write home about.

The staff seem quite personal and this shop felt quite intimate because it is so small and open. The prices of the shoes in here are generally quite expensive but the quality of the shoes are high because they are from good well known brands. Most of the shoes seem formal and so it would probably not appeal to the typical hipster. It is quite a nice little shop but i would say it is more for business people.
