Great place to find clothes, packs, travel gear, accessories for camping, general travel, sports…read moreetc. The staff are really friendly and helpful especially the staff in the packs section. They help you figure out the best pack for your body size, usage, etc...and they fit you too. I found that their travel accessories are definitely cheaper than other travel shops around the city. Also, a decent bike accessory section. They generally carry their own MEC clothing line so you won't likely find the more recognizable outdoor brand names here. Since it's a co-op, you just need to sign up as a member for $5 (lifetime membership) but like most places you can just use your phone number instead of carrying their card around. The one thing that sucks about this place is the lack of parking! It's located on Portage and Donald so it's only limited to street (meter) parking. And there's no street parking allowed in that area between 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm weekdays. I saw a banner that allows free 1 hour parking if you buy more than $10 worth of stuff at an Impark lot somewhere on Smith. Not sure which lot that is but obviously I didn't spot that sign until after I circled this place for 10 mins!

In an industry where the customer is always right, you failed me. For a company who "...is entrusted by the North Face to represent the North Face products in the best possible manner" you have failed yourself and the North Face company. While purchasing a North Face jacket for my daughter (three years in a row), I believed I was buying her "only the best technical product in the industry". I believed I was spending the extra money for a jacket which would serve her well and keep her warm on our cold, wintery days. Boy, was I wrong! While speaking to the store manager today, I was truly taken back by his unwillingness to please a loyal customer. For a situation which he could of easily dealt with himself, he chose to send me away and told me to call head office myself! He even provided me with the phone number! (Apparently too busy to handle the problem himself!) Here is the story. This past weekend my daughter wore her North Face winter jacket for the first time. She was so excited to finally be able to play outside after our first snowfall! A few hours later, when it was time to come in, she was complaining about her chin and how her chin was hurting. I got her to look up and on closer inspection I was horrified to see a bunch of scratches from something in the collar of the jacket. One of the scratches actually drew blood. This was no joking matter. I wasn't able to get ahold of 'The Prairie Summit Shop' until Tuesday morning when the store opened. I explained my case to the store manager, Shawn. I could already tell he was skeptical, however I took pictures of her chin to prove my point. Shawn informed me I would have to bring the jacket in to the store so he could "examine" it. The jacket was clearly defective, as no piece of clothing should hurt anyone let alone a four year old child! So off I went, to take the jacket in to be "examined". While at 'The Prairie Summit Shop' on Grant Avenue, Shawn was not able to find exactly which part of the jacket scratched my daughter's chin. He told me, in this case, I had to deal directly with North Face, blatantly telling me I was full of poo. Now I am really annoyed as my daughter has no winter jacket at all! Maybe I should call up Shawn and let him explain to my daughter why she can't go outside and play in the snow for another 7-10 days while her replacement jacket from The North Face head office is being mailed to her. Maybe then, Shawn would apologize for his laziness and unwillingness to deal with the issue at bay. Thanks Prairie Summit of Winnipeg for making the job of being a mom that much harder. For a company who "is entrusted by the North Face to represent the North Face products in the best possible manner" you should be ashamed of yourself! Last year I had Olympia put Salomon Prolink Classic Access bindings on my skis. A few days ago,…read moreone of the bindings broke (I'd stay away from these bindings), causing a ski to fall off and a walk back to the car. I took it into Olympia. They said it was defective and couldn't be repaired. They also said that since I didn't have the receipt, and they had lost records of past sales, they could offer me only new bindings at full price (with free labour). I'd been going to Olympia since the late 90's, but never again. (I gather they have new owners. It doesn't seem the Olympia of Lindsay and Scot.)

I own two Adidas items in my wardrobe: - A purple t-shirt - A front-zip Minnesota Wild Adidas hoodie Both items are so comfortable to wear. They also have a nice softness when you wear them. I got both on sale at Kohl's and The Hockey Lodge, respectively. I thought that I'd check out this store at Collection Outlet Winnipeg and see if I could expand my Adidas wardrobe. I liked the women's sneakers. Out of the entire batch, I only found two pairs that were size 11. It's slim pickings if you have large feet for a woman. If you are size 10 and under, you'll have better success. I didn't want to get a men's pair. The colours weren't cheerful to me. The track outfits looked nice. They were discounted, but not heavily. I played with a basketball. This store had nice basketball designs besides your typical brownish colour. The one that I was bouncing around was inflated nicely. This place also a decent selection caps. I didn't see a huge discount happening in this section, either. It was great browsing. I just wish that there were more women's size 11 shoes available.
