Note, I am now posting this a few weeks out from the visit but wrote this the same evening I returned from this ER. I thought giving myself some time to sleep on it would possibly change my feelings on our experience here, however my feelings have not changed. Background: this took place on a Tuesday evening following initial visits to urgent care on the previous Friday evening and Monday morning. The Dr. at the second visit to the urgent care advised "if your symptoms continue to worsen, please go to the ER to get a chest x-ray or CT." That was the primary reason we went to the ER so soon as I am aware that illness can last a week or more. My daughter's fever was worsening over time, and despite frequent hydration, she felt extremely dehydrated and was experiencing a headache that would not improve with ibuprofen or medication. I am appalled at the behavior and bedside manner of most of the employees at this ER. We were first met with the front desk RN, Mayra. When we arrived, Mayra was mistreating an individual asking them "so do you have high blood pressure or high cholesterol? Diabetes? Which is it?" or things like "that's NOT what I asked you" in a horrible, angry tone. I should have turned around then and left but I was concerned about my child and did not want to risk going elsewhere with a longer wait time. Once she was done disrespecting that individual, it was my child's turn. I began to speak to Mayra and was going to explain "I know my child is 18 years old but also understand that if she requests, I can speak on her behalf" however I was interrupted by Mayra who immediately stated "I NEED to only speak with her. She's 18." When my daughter spoke with Mayra, she was extremely condescending disregarding anything my daughter expressed she was dealing with by minimizing or disregarding symptoms mentioned. For example, my daughter expressed that she was experiencing a painful migraine so Mayra asked "do you have a history of migraines?" to which my daughter replied she did not as she does not have chronic migraines but HAS experienced migraines before. Mayra replies "ok so then you have a headache." When asking her medical history and when my daughter did not answer quickly enough, Mayra responds "YOU KNOW THINGS you might be medicated for? Like diabetes, depression..." My daughter said "oh, yes I do." Again, she was not feeling well and (side note, my child is autistic so the line of questioning was being answered to the best of her ability!) so she just answered the question as a yes or no. Mayra looked annoyed so I answered, "depression, she takes..." Mayra interrupted stating "I DON'T NEED TO KNOW WHAT SHE TAKES." Yikes! She then proceeds to give my child the pain scale instructions stating "Ok, so how bad is your pain on a scale of 1 to 10 and I mean ten being your arm was just cut off." Considering that my child has never experienced pain from limb loss, she cannot utilize limb loss to accurately gauge her pain? Advice for asking about the pain scale, Mayra, would be to state "Ten being the worst pain YOU have ever felt and one being pain that is bearable but bothersome." We were seen pretty quickly by an ER tech who asked why we were being seen. My daughter again explained her symptoms to which the ER tech stated "okay, well you might just have a virus, you tested negative at the urgent care?" to which my daughter responded that yes, she tested negative but that she might have a 'flu.' The tech looked puzzled, but my daughter was simply relaying what she was told by the nurse from the Urgent care a few nights before. She then stated she would do blood work and swab for covid, strep, and flu. She swabbed my daughters NOSE then put the SAME SWAB in her throat!? I could not believe she did this. I know that sometimes they may begin with the throat swab THEN test the nasal cavity but the reverse? Yikes! The ER tech did state "you might also be feeling like this because you're so dehydrated and I bet you're not hydrating." Did not ask "how often are you hydrating?" or "Are you consuming or drinking electrolytes?" just "you're probably not hydrating." It was presumptuous of her. She had been hydrating OFTEN and consuming electrolytes. The tech then clumsily attempted to place an IV in my daughter's arm but was having difficulty (likely due to my daughter's dehydration?) and eventually placed the IV in her hand. Shortly thereafter, another RN (short, curly blonde or light brown hair-I could not see her nametag as most of the nurses had their tags flipped around-I wonder why?) came in and stated "you know that viruses last longer than just a few days. Why are we seeing you right now?" I did my best not to interject as my child is 18 years old but they bulldozed her while she was experiencing extreme pain so I would interject when necessary. Do not go here. Yeah it might seem better because they are able to see you sooner, but at what cost? The level of care is not where it's supposed to be. I'd take my chances somewhere else even if the wait might be a little longer, at least you'll receive better care. From personal experience, when the nurse or whoever it was who took me to get weighed laughed at my weight, I knew they were unprofessional. Why are they laughing at patients who obviously are going to come in all shapes and sizes? Honestly, I don't know how they were able to make it through school. Secondly, when I came for a potentially sprained bone and was all cut up and bloody from falling, they didn't even clean it up before putting a bandage on it. No water, no soap, no sanitizer. nothing. I had to clean it myself at home. So there was no reason to come if I could've just took care of it myself. Just please don't go here. If you are able to, go to a better clinic even if the wait time is longer. read more

My fiancé and I were both extremely disappointed in this establishment. I was experiencing symptoms that were putting me in a lot of pain and then I passed out. My fiancé took me to MountainView ER as he was extremely concerned for my well-being as I have a very high pain tolerance and he said "I've never seen you in this much pain." We typically would have gone to an urgent care but it was the middle of the night and the ER was the only thing open. The RN was extremely nice and very helpful so was the ultrasound technician. I appreciated them that night. The RN at the front desk heard me out about my symptoms and got me back almost immediately. Dr. McClain was the most condescending, rude, and unhelpful doctor I have ever had in my life. He ran multiple tests and an ultrasound and when they came back normal. He gave me fluids and sent me home even though I was still in a lot of pain and still had no answers as to why I was feeling the way I was feeling. And no answer to why I may have passed out. He was extremely uneducated on my IUD and would not hear me out when I tried to explain it to him and what my OB said to do if these symptoms I was having occurred. OB told me to go to the ER and that's what I did. This doctor essentially accused me of lying about my symptoms without saying so. He did not take anything I said seriously. I ended up getting a diagnosis from another doctor and it was in fact something very serious that he just brushed off like I was lying about it. Took my son to get tested for strep, covid, rsv and flu. The nurse that took the swabs didn't even stick the whole swab or half of it up my son's nose and swabbed his tongue instead of the back of his throat. I knew I should've asked them to re-do the tests right then and there but I didn't. Now fast forward two weeks later and his cough and runny nose is back exactly 10 days after the antibiotics he was put on, so I decided to take him to his pediatrician. HE TESTED POSITIVE FOR RSV AND STREP. I'm almost sure this is what he had when I took him to this urgent care but everyone here just seems so lazy and not helpful at all. Was visiting family in Las Cruces from back east and unexpectedly spent 5 hours here on a Thursday. My sister was experiencing tightness in her chest, fatigue and dizziness. I had never been here before. When we arrived it looked like a fairly typical urgent care, with the usual small-ish waiting room, with about 8 people waiting and with a television playing something borderline inappropriate and way too loud. At check in, as soon as they heard my sister's symptoms, they brought her back into a room and brought in an eKG machine. Then they took her to another room for a chest x-ray. Then they allowed me back with her as they took her to a room that looked like a hospital room. They got her on heart and b/p monitors, drew blood, put her on IV fluids and we waited for test results. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Later they did a CT Scan. I was impressed by the capabilities of this facility. The staff members were excellent. Everyone was competent and kind. Of course waiting for test results is always annoying and the time ticks by slowly, but if you have to endure that kind of thing, this was a decent place to do it. In any event, happily all her tests were negative for a heart event. The doctor made clear recommendations for follow up tests for her with a cardiologist. And they sent us on our way. I would not wish upon anyone our experience, but Mountain View made it better than it might otherwise have been, and for that I am grateful. read more

Their incompetence killed my father. They have no idea how to handle stroke care, leaving PATIENTS to decide serious medical decisions that doctors should be in charge of. I could never go here willingly. Incompetent monsters. read more

I got right in, had my vitals taken and got tested for Covid, Strep and flu. The check in was the best and got out in a little over an hour. This is the place to go if you want efficient service and care. read more

They mis-diagnosed my husband and "CLAIMED" he had an upper respiratory infection, waited 5 hours for that diagnosis which they were wrong. Just to find out from a more professional second opinion at MMC URGENT CARE that my husband actually had Pneumonia. Their lack of professionalism, lack of humanity, and people's health while feeling ill is downright very disgusting. They would rather just claim what people supposedly have when it's really not that. This place just needs to permanently close !! They disregard your symptoms and push you off. I will never use this place every again!! I will not have my health insurance pay for such low intentions that they can't keep . They are literally messing with people's health without a care in the world. My husband could've died because of them! read more

I was seen Thursday June 29th,2023. I walked in and was greeted very appropriately, things were clean and off to a good start, I originally went in for excruciating sharp pain on the left side of my abdomen/ovary area, unbearable pain. I was quickly taken back and asked what was wrong, I proceeded to tell them where it hurt and how much I was in pain, they insisted on a few test (urine,ultrasounds, blood..) so on so forth. I had began to explain to them how I went in for a kidney stone a month prior and they kind of blew it off, so I was hesitant with everything from there on, as they did the ultrasound they completely disregarded my concern for scanning the complete opposite side of my pain, I began to ask if she could see my left side "organs" from scanning my right? As my pain was on the left side and the tech said the doctor order her to check the right side (completely wrong side,no pain) so I didn't question much since I don't have a medical degree... but was concerned. When the doctor came in she asked if I've started my period yet and I told her no I shouldn't start for another 19 days!! And proceeded to tell me it was just pms cramps! My gut feeling knew it wasn't! I asked about a CT scan since that's what they did a month prior and she said it was just pms cramps and I didn't need it and sent me on my way with ibuprofen. Fast forward 17hrs later Friday June 30th I'm in the three crosses hospital ER with unbearable pain to the point I can't walk and on the verge of passing out. My step father and I are trying to explain how I was just at this ER the night before and was just told I was period cramping and before I could say anything they had me CT scanned no questions asked as if they KNEW it wasn't pms cramps! I was literally screaming in pain begging for help. I may have been annoying all the other patients but that's how bad I was in pain. Point being this was not cramps. Scans came back and I have a large kidney stone that they saw in the scans. They also said I had a damn good amount of blood in my urine which gave them the clue of possible kidney stones.... Mountain View ER provider told me she saw a "little bit" of blood and there was no concern. Left untreated, kidney stones can block the ureters or make them narrower. This increases the risk of infection, or urine may build up and put added strain on the kidneys, thank goodness I listened to my gut and went to the hospital across the way! It's unfortunate the staff were kind at this MV ER and I was COMPLETELY misdiagnosed, by a long shot to the point of pain and agony, I just wish they listened to my concerns and prior visit history. It took them 2 hours to look at a ultrasound gave me Tylenol and sent me all the way to another hospital for a cam scan I was there for over all 6 hours and they would not go into my room at all That's why I gave them 1star read more

I would give zero stars if I could. After sharing my harrowing experience, no one I know will ever use this emergency room. My partner had a sudden, excruciating / blinding pain in his head, we feared he was having a stroke or aneurism. The people working check in desk could not be bothered to end their conversation or put their food down to acknowledge us at the window. We were rudely told to sit and someone would come at some point. Many minutes later, with my partner suffering in excruciating agony, I again interrupted their chicken dinner and asked HOW LONG. They checked, and oops had forgot to even enter him. (Ps. sharing bucket fried chicken at the front desk during a pandemic is gross as hell, no excuses). He finally was seen by the most unprofessional person I've EVER interacted with, a student nurse named James. James proceeded to fumble his very simple duties, complain about his job and his nursing program (which he said was a very bad program - thanks for that boost of confidence as you're providing us care), used numerous F bombs, and had a very personal conversations with a fellow male nurse about some "piece of *ss" he was after, but she was a b*tch and not into him. My partner could barely form words, and this really frustrated James, who had not one percent of patience in his body. I cannot believe Mountainview would hire such a person. He then left to check on an elderly patient in the room across from ours, and when he exited the OPEN DOOR and screamed, "EW, THAT DUDE SMELLS LIKE SHIT". There was zero dignity or professionalism shown by any staff towards us at this point. I was beyond horrified and would've left if my partner wasn't in a dire scenario. It was a slow Sunday in the ER, and they just couldn't get it together at intake. Later, the man who carted him to get scans was great. The NP and RN were great, but it was really too late, we were traumatized and wanted to get out ASAP. I waited for the customer survey to arrive, it never did. I sent emails to the proper channels, to relay this experience, and no one has ever responded. The management and hiring here is clearly FAR off the mark, I have zero trust in this institution. Emergency services are LIFE AND DEATH, and this place felt like a three ring circus complete with incompetent clowns. I'd recommend going literally anywhere else. read more

The waiting room was a little busy when I arrived after 8pm, maybe 8 others waiting, but when it came to my turn, I was treated very professionally by a very busy staff. We found out there was only 1 doctor on duty and a handfull of nurses. My husband is a retired ER nurse with over 30 years experience who could have taken care of my wound at home but unfortunately the water system in our neighborhood was being flushed out, so all we were getting out of our faucet was dirty water, besides I needed a tetanus shot. I can't thank the staff enough for their care and attention. read more

I went in because my eye was swollen shut, blood shot, tearing and was very painful. PA Yoon checked my eye for a cornea tear and said she didn't find anything after looking for 2.5 seconds. I waited another 30 minutes and then the nurse walks in with my discharge papers telling me I can go. I asked what was wrong with me?! The physician didn't even come back and explain what she thought it was. I had to ask for her to come explain everything to me. When she walked in she seemed bothered at the fact that I asked her to come back to the room. She said I had a sinus infection and conjunctivitis. I told her I've had sinus infections before and this doesn't feel anything like a sinus infection. She seemed even more upset when I told her that. I made an appointment after that with my eye doctor and they discovered that I DID HAVE A CORNEA TEAR. A very significant one at that. I will never go back here and I don't recommend this ER. read more
