Phyllis E Parker-Bertun - create 40 individual work out session for me over the past year. During that period my physical condition improved substantially. She is professional, customizing the program based on the results the client desired results. At one point during a session another trainer in the gym commented, "You have him on a good program". An unsolicited positive comment for Phyllis not sure what it meant for me. I am very pleased with the results achieved and grateful for to have met Phyllis. She has an impressive set of credentials outlined below that allow her to offer a wide range of programs.
1. American Council on Exercise (ACE)-Personal Trainer - Orthopedic Exercise Specialist. ACE educates, certifies and supports more than 75,000 health and fitness professionals, health coaches and allied health professionals. Earning NCCA-accredited one of the highest industry standard for health and fitness professionals. The ACE orthopedic exercise specialist cert was designed to help treat multiple muscular imbalances or musculoskeletal problems.
2. Yoga - 200 E-RYT:
Completed a 200-hour teacher training with an RYS 200
Has at least 1,000 hours of teaching experience since completing
training with a RYS 200
Taught for at least two years since completing training with a
RYS 200
Continuing Education Requirement every three years.
3. Vinyasa: Yoga is a discipline that utilizes postures and breathing techniques. This form of yoga offers a range of health benefits to those who practice it, as it encompasses all areas of mind, body and spirit.
4. Yin: Yoga has the same goals and objectives as any other school of yoga; however, it directs the stimulation deeper than the superficial or muscular tissues.
5. Chair: Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing using a chair for support. It is in the process of being recognized formally as a type of yoga distinct from other types.
6. YACEP: Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider®, is a Yoga Alliance designation for individuals that teach continuing education courses. Teach courses that count as Continuing Education hours for RYTs.
7. Yoga with a stability ball is a great way to get extra support for moves that require endurance and flexibility and it also adds a balance challenge to some poses.
8. Reiki - Healing touch: Healing touch and Reiki are similar but there are important differences between the two. In both Healing Touch and Reiki, blocked energies can be released which can help encourage healing. The theory behind both is that the practitioner is able to channel their life energy to encourage the healing process.
9. ACE-GX:
Cardio exercise is any exercise that raises your heart rate.
Strength training is a type of physical exercise specializing in the use of resistance to induce muscular contraction which builds the strength, anaerobic endurance, and size of skeletal muscles.
Barre is a form of physical exercise, usually conducted in group classes in gyms or specialty studios. It is distinguished from other group fitness activities by its use of the ballet barre and its incorporation of movements derived from ballet.
Starting Strength (SS): The goal of this program is to add weight each and every time you lift, taking advantage of The Novice Effect that allows you to do so.
9. Pilates: Six "principles of Pilates". These have been widely adopted and adapted by the wider community. The original six principles were concentration, control, center, flow, precision, and breathing.
