I decided to try Geogia's on Holywood High Street as there's always a queue and I've always wondered if it was actually worth waiting for. First thing I am going to say is the staff are great, there were 3 working when I went in and they seemed to be running a tight ship, each person had their job and they were performing their jobs to perfection. I asked if they took debit card but unfortunately they didn't. The chap working said I could place my order and go to the ATM further up the road and by the time I got back my food would be ready. He wasn't wrong because I came back to the shop just in time to answer the all important question, 'Do you want salt and vinegar?' The food itself was good, although not mind blowing. There's plenty of competition in this area for fish and chips so Georgia's always had a lot to live up to. I got a 'Cod Supper' - I got loads of chips (too many) but the fish portion wasn't huge although it was fried to perfection. The meal was enjoyable and I will definitely be back although I might try something different from their large menu.

Its menus consists of a combination of the most popular of al the big fast food outlets, including chicken meals like KFC and burger meals like in Mc Donald's. The standard is always good if you just want a quick bite to eat. Everything is always well cooked and things are served fast, which are the main things you are looking for in a fast food outlet. Where it has the edge on takeaways and chip shops is its small but perfectly formed deserts range, as it has a lot of keenly priced ice cream sundaes and muffins that are very nice for the minimal price! My best Supermac's memory thought is as part of the Des Bishop Work Experience that was on RTE a few years ago. If you have the cash or the spare hard drive space if you catch my drift, check it out and you'll get a slightly harsher insight into life at an outlet like this!

And how right she was. It's one of those chip shops which don't look like much from the outside, but with this place, it's the inside that counts. Located on the end of Pound Street, Broadway is Newtownards hidden gem. I love that it's called Broadway, symbolising the highest earning and most commericial theatre-land in the world, and it's located on Pound Street. Excellent. It actually does kinda represent the quality of the food, juxatposed with bargainous prices. The chips are always cooked to perfection, and they do these great mini pizzas too. A 7" plain cheese and tomato pizza, without toppings, is £1.60...an absolute bargain! And it's really, really tasty. If you fancy a 10" pizzas, or toppings, they're on the menu too. The only problem I have with Broadway is that it's opening hours are limited, as its business is mainly done during the day time. The only opens until 7pm (unfortunately), but it's really such a cracking wee chippie, I can't complain too much.

It was only a one off, a fling if you will. But even so... The night of the shameful deed took place after the general election (also, debatably, accentuating the night of shameful deeds), when we decided we would go to Broadway in Newtownards. Unfortunately it was closed, but driving past The Terracotta a sudden scandalous notion came to me. With no regard for the loyal King's Court in Dundonald, I deviously suggested that we visit this new Chinese on Mill Street. My dad agreed, and out we hopped in a clandestine manner to complete the deed. Or buy a Chinese, whichever you prefer. The Terracotta is a fancy wee number. Plasma TV, slightly disconcerting mirrors, black leather seating and cool lighting. The menu is even fancier, and the girl actually apologised for the layout of it. Since neither my dad or I have a degree in menu translation / deciphering, we took a quick look and decided to ask if a couple of the dishes we couldn't find on the menu were actually available. Luckily, they were. A few minutes wait, and we darted home with the sinful Chinese. Hunger pervaded us, as we unwrapped the delicious scent of black bean sauce. Mmmm, it was lovely. Just a kick of chilli, not too overpowering. Dinner was devoured in a matter of minutes. Conscience-stricken, we have never returned to The Terracotta. Never has a further word even been breathed about it. Until now, that is. Ssssshhh...

I'd forgotten that I don't particularly like items bearing the name "curry" in a Chinese restaurant and so regretted my choice but was still determined to explore further. On my second visit, sitting in, I had chicken skewers for starters and vegetables in Korean kimchi for my main. Both were absolutely delicious and I don't think my third visit is very far away.
