FOOD: 10/10
The food…read morehere was amazing. We ordered:
-Scrambled Spicy Shakshuka
-Protein Power Breakfast (w/ Salmon)
-Country Omelette
-Baileys Latte
-Honey Latte
Honestly, I was really taken aback by the quality, balance, and flavor of everything. It's rare to find a spot where every dish is executed at such a high level, especially when our group has a wide range of preferences and we hadn't been the biggest fans of British food given our more recent consecutive attempted experience the few days leading up to this day. Victoria House completely turned that impression around.
The shakshuka had a low-to-medium kick--just enough spice to enjoy all the fiery nuances without overwhelming the palate. Pairing it with their sourdough bread created the perfect bite.
The omelette? Wow. I'm not usually an omelette person, but this one was huge, incredibly fluffy, and packed with flavor. It might genuinely be one of the best omelettes I've ever had.
Then there's the Protein Power Breakfast--and yes, I wish they had named it something else--but this dish was an absolute standout. It's the kind of meal I could eat every morning. The variety on the plate was so satisfying: rich, runny poached eggs, creamy smashed avocado, and mushrooms bursting with juicy flavor.
We loved it so much that we came back a second time--something I almost never do when traveling or in general (since there is always a new place to try!)
Finally, the Baileys Latte deserves its own spotlight. It's complex and delicious, with just a gentle hint of Baileys that's noticeable but not repulsive. Even if you're not a fan of alcohol, I think you'd still enjoy this--it's more of a subtle, indulgent note in an already perfect cup of coffee.
SERVICE: 10/10
The service here was attentive and seamless without feeling intrusive. They checked in on us at just the right times and even refilled our water glasses before we had to ask. Considering how busy the restaurant was, with a line out the door and plates constantly being carried around, the best way to describe the vibe is "orderly chaos." Despite the packed space and the hustle, everything ran like clockwork--efficient, calm, and impressively organized.
AMBIANCE: 8/10
It's definitely a popular tourist and local spot, and while it's not as spacious as I'd normally like, the energy felt lively rather than overwhelming. The line moved faster than I expected (and I hate waiting in lines), so it didn't end up being much of an issue. Plus, the décor was beautiful--thoughtful details that made sitting and enjoying breakfast here all the more enjoyable.
Victoria House is a must-visit, and I'm already looking forward to the next time I can come back.
