Excellent honest service from start to finish. We started with two (2) other companies. Both turned out to be scam artists. One turned out to be a broker although the salesman represented otherwise. The other gave us a quote that was ridiculously low. We just knew that at delivery there was going to be a problem. We were going to do the move ourselves via U-Haul. We were then referred to Moyer. From the very beginning we were impressed by their professionalism. Honest price estimate. Honest on delivery and pickup scheduling. Honest about where/how we could save money. Our items were delivered w/o issue. Nothing lost. Nothing broken. Our driver was in constant communication with us as to when he would be arriving at both our old and new homes. The office was a bit out of sync but the driver kept us in the loop... and he was spot on. If you're looking to contract for a stress free (or less stress) mover, Moyer is about the closest you're going to get. Everyone at Moyer was helpful and cheerful. Oh My God. These people packed vintage clothing with sharp objects, which damaged several valuable dresses. I found an old big ben clock smashed, depression glass broken, ericofon cobras broken. Shoes with office supplies, boxes of tea emptied out and mixed with pens, xactos, broken glass, and lotion that squirted all over everything. Things are packed so haphazardly and clumsily that I can't begin to fathom what they were thinking. Valuable alzburg and russell wright broken. And I cannot find my shoes. They literally unpacked plastic bins and clothing bags holding wool sweaters and coats, emptied other bins that held sorted clothes and threw random items in the bins, leaving my wool to a moth infestation. I was told to sign off on all of the boxes as soon as they deposited book boxes in the bedroom and clothes boxes in the den. I strongly urge others to avoid the heartbreak of finding heirlooms destroyed and find a more responsible mover. read more

We worked with Moyer to move out of one home, then stored our belongings with Moyer at their facility for a while, then they moved us into our new home. For both moves (in and out) they were prompt (early!), friendly, extremely careful (wrapping / packing items, transporting them, loading the truck, watching out for walls, etc.), and really quick & efficient. I tried to have the place packed as much as possible but a family emergency prevented me from having the garage packed up. Didn't matter. They came in, took a look around and got to work. The guys they sent were the most professional, kind, caring, movers I've ever had. I don't know if our previous movers were THAT BAD or Moyer was just THAT GOOD. The Navy contracted Moyer &Sons for our move from Bethesda Md to Norfolk Va. Donna and her daughter Ashley came to pack & they were excellent. Careful of out things &very organized. They were able to get most things packed on day 1 but it was a lot so they needed to come back on day 2 to finish. I needed an item (packed on day1) that should not have been packed (my fault) Donna had the boxes labeled so accurately that she was able to find the box just from the labels and when we opened it there was the missing item. No muss,no fuss Donna came back on day 3 and supervised the men loading the 2vans. Everything inventoried and carefully packed. If you use Moyer and sons be sure to ask for Donna. The worse moving company in the world. I moved so many times in the world, and always had professionals from beginning to the end, never had a worry about my goods, but not this time, not with Moyer and Sons. Problems began with delayed documentations, not answering the phone calls, hesitation with documents provision in time or at all. The communications was beyond bad, the seal number for container was not provided properly, pictures of sealed container were not provided at all also I asked many times for it. Container was open half way to its final destination, half of my goods were rubbed on the way, many of my goods were stollen or came broken. My goods came and stuck in a random storage in Almaty where they shouldn't be at all without professional care. The affiliates of Moyer and Sons in Kazakhstan didn't do their job neither with custom clearance, nor with sending my goods to its final destination which was 1,500.00 kilometers away from Almaty. I had to find myself sitting the USA a moving company in Almaty, Kazakhstan in order to send my goods to its final town and had to pay that company extra despite our signed contract with Moyer and Sons and my payment for entire root. In general Moyer and Sons took enormous price from me to move my goods and they didn't deliver my goods where I paid them to deliver my cargo. With other words Moyer and Sons just stole my money and destroyed my cargo. My furniture I sent via Moyer and Sons was severely damages, expensive dishes were broken Expensive lamps, clothes, shoes, rugs were stollen from my cargo. Through the entire way of my goods moving from the ports of Riga ( half way to the destination) i had to control the entire moving process, the custom clearance in Almaty i had to do myself, also Moyer and sons took money from me for all that work and they had to look for my cargo. Moyer and Sons didn't do anything, they breached our contract to move my goods completely. My husband and I are in the midst of relocating his parents to a senior living facility in a different state. Our experience with Moyer, Moving and Storage was to say the least..... OUTSTANDING. It started with Roy (the estimator) a year ago (Oct 2023). He came out and estimated the cost for storage and also a "mini trip" we needed right a way, to our home in S.C. The price he gave us was reasonable and never changed. After a year I contacted Charna and set up a date for he final move. The date was in August of 2024 and consisted of a 10 day window. A week before the window, I contacted Charna and she put me in touch with Greg for the final move. He gave me a firm date. The day before I received a call from Reggie the driver saying he was ready to deliver. the night before the move Reggie came out and reviewed the neighborhood to make sure the tractor trailer would be able to navigate the turns. I met with him the night before and he told me he would be there at 7:30 the next day. He showed up on time with two other men and started to unload everything. By 2:30 they were done and gone. Reggie and his men were extremely professional, courteous, polite and hard working. They made sure I was satisfied with the placement of everything before they left. Everything was un packaged and place in the appropriate rooms. They also put together two beds and a dresser. Moyer and Sons recently moved us from Chicago to DC Suburbs of Virginia. We've used great professional movers before but Moyer & Sons are phenomenal professional movers! Every step of the way communication was excellent, efficient, including exchanging cell phone numbers and texting. Jason Moyer coordinated our move from the beginning to the end and he did a superb job! Mike was over our packing, moving (driving the truck) and unpacking and went above and beyond what we expected of him! I had a few pieces of furniture that I changed my mind on for the placement and he was happy to move them for me. When they were unpacking around 4:30 on Friday afternoon I was starting to get overwhelmed with putting everything up, because I have two little kids and am 6 months pregnant so I asked if they could come back Monday morning to finish. On time always, great communications from the onset through delivery from office staff all the way to to the movers. We moved from a DC/MD area 4000 sq. ft. living space home to SE Florida where the delivery was split between an apartment as well as a 10x20 storage unit which made it more complicated than a standard move. Crews on both ends were great and they mostly took great care in handling all our stuff, other than putting boxes on top of the dining room table and scratching it slightly while sliding them around a bit. Our driver Reggie was awesome, super friendly, super hard working, very detail oriented and really made the whole experience pleasant. I have just finished upacking and and am mostly-organized following my residential move from Maryland to Ohio, conducted by the outstanding team at Moyer. I had a house, garage, and shed full of stuff - I think it weighed inat 15,000 pounds or something. So, it was a big deal. Although I did fill out their internal evaluation form, I believe that the level of service and expertise in all phases warrants further detail. No damage, no scratches, no dings to any of my possessions or to the departure and destination homes. Bottom line: you should consider Moyer and Sons for your long distance move. After contacting Moyer, Rick G came out to my residence and we walked through the house. He noted which items might require special attention, or at least explained how a piece of furniture would be handled. He left documentation and various checklists to facilitate the packing phase. I knew exactly what I could take, and what I could not so there were no surprises downstream. Of note, their list of prohibited items was no different from the other company I interviewed. He recognized the stress associated with moving, and his calm demeanor reflected his experience in expertise. I briefly toyed with the idea of packing up the house myself, and then quickly came to my senses and had it done by Moyer. The packers arrived on time, eager and energetic to get started. They sent 5 packers and they were done in about 6 hours. It was the small details that I came to appreciate when my household goods arrived in Ohio. The boxes were packed extremely carefully, and my things were not jammed in. They were clearly marked with their contents, and the room from which it came. This was very helpful to me as I tried to map where things would go in my new house from where they were in my old one. All the furniture (and I have some expensive stuff) was wrapped and well-padded with moving blankets. Cabinets and small boxes were first wrapped with the clear moving wrap, and then taped over the wrap. This small detail enabled me to removing the wrap easily, and there was no adhesive residue from the packing tape. Things like shelf stoppers (the things that hold adjustable shelves up) were all placed in a box labelled "Parts" in huge bold letters so that it was easy to reassemble things at the destination. The team picked up after themselves, and placed the boxes neatly in each room so that I could still get around the house. The team that loaded my stuff on to the truck was likewise excellent. They were very energetic and upbeat and also presented a professional demeanor. They carried everything out, and it was loaded in the truck under the supervision of the team leader who ensured that everything was secure. They did not appear to tire, and worked at a high level the entire day. They were careful not to scuff my walls and did not damage a thing. It was a well-oiled machine. My stuff arrived as scheduled, and a new team unloaded my stuff, always checking with me about where things should go (e.g., I had a shed in Maryland, but not in Ohio so some of the shed stuff went into the garage, and some into the basement.) Thanks again to the clear labels on the boxes, those decisions were easy. In short, it was a 5 star experience from beginning to end. They are priced competitively when looking at top tier, full service movers. I have moved many times when on active duty, and for the most part those events were a mess, and substandard. I'm basing this on the estimate only. I was called the day of informed by Moyer Senior that Kevin would be showing up instead of John to do the estimate. Fine by me. Quarter til my appointment, Kevin calls me and informs me that he doesn't know where I am, how to spell my address, or if it would work in a GPS. I wasn't too pleased and gave him some base instructions then called back John to advise his employee how to navigate to an apartment building they claimed they do service frequently for. Kevin showed up five minutes late knocking at my door. I generally don't wear shoes on my carpet but he walked around and didn't even bother to ask about the carpet. He opened drawers, looked at stuff and then gave me one of the higher estimates I received to date. When I expressed this was very high he became angry, demanded repeatedly rates of other companies and how he's so much better than them; asked if they visited in person, and argued how the other companies must be bad. He was raising his voice, and me just being in alone with an apartment with him I was nervous. He kept arguing me about how the other rates can't compare and I told him I've done similar research and he demanded other values. I suggested he call and find out and he rolled his eyes at me. He asked if I still wanted an estimate and I said yes. He quoted high numbers then left slamming the door behind him and didn't leave any paperwork. I called the company and spoke with John Sr. who said Kevin is usually nice. He's probably nice if people do whatever he wants. John Sr. was calm and talked patiently to me even though I was very shaken up from that jerk Kevin. Honestly, I'd be afraid to be alone again with Kevin. He seems like he could hurt someone if they disagree with him. John said he'd review the paperwork and call back tomorrow. We'll see what happens but what a horrible, nerve-wrecking experience. Surely one must expect a person does research and shop around to get a rate; not yell at a potential customer because they overcharge. read more

I recently used Moyer & Sons for my first cross-country move from the DC area to California. The experience was outstanding from the initial estimate to final delivery. I would highly recommend them as a mover for short and long distances. For my estimate Jason visited the apartment and went through all the items I was moving. I was leaving behind a considerable amount of items, which may have added to the complexity of the estimate. Jason was friendly, courteous, and professional. The movers arrived weeks later at the date of my move. They were down to business and had the apartment cleaned out and loaded on the truck in a matter of a couple hours. They were very careful with any and all delicate items, and what impressed me most was their communication throughout the front-end of the move. Asking me what items needed to go where, validating with their numbering system, and carefully going through all paperwork with me when their job was completed. As I didn't know what my "final address" would be, I had Moyer & Sons use their storage facility for me until I found a new address and could green light them. Once I did, within a week they reached out to me with a date for delivery. I highly recommend this option if you find yourself in a similar situation. On the back-end of the move, I had a similar experience, the movers were professional and careful, but above all were highly communicative; asking ME what I WANTED. This is my highlight to the 5 star review. I hope to enjoy the warm and sunny life I've gotten to know in short time I've been in the Golden State for years to come, but should I ever decide to come back to the East Coast, there's no doubt in mind I'll use Moyer & Sons again... Everyone at Moyer is exceptional - from Gordon who prices and schedules the move to Josh and crew who coordinate and execute the move. First step: A wonderful Moyer employee, Bette, came to visit Mom's house twice to help us figure out what furniture to place in the floor plan of Mom's new apartment. Second step: Moyer movers, led by Anna, arrived at the house with the color-coded floor plan Bette had prepared. The Moyer team carefully and efficiently packed everything up in a matter of a few hours, and brought the truck to a secure storage facility to await the morning move. Third step: First thing the next morning, Moyer moved my mom's furniture and belongings into her new apartment, unpacked everything, and created Mom's old house in her new apartment, right down to the pictures on the dresser. The building where I moved to, gave me a brochure for Moyer & Moving - stupidly trusting, I called Moyer's, called for a quote too late to my moving date and was sort of stuck with them. A person came and sniffed around my belongings - fingered my earrings, opened my refrigerator and asked was I going to drink my bourbon. She then quoted a price easily $1,000 over what the average mover quotes and presented a 4 page contract for me to sign. On the estimate were consultation fees, Covid fees, separate truck fees all of which no one else requires. The men stacked quite a few of my boxes in a pyramid and I had to get someone else to take them down so I could open them. Five things got broken - but guess what, the CONTRACT states $250. deductible. These people are for rich idiots. I 100% regret having anything to do with them. It seems reviews praise movers if the men actually show up and transport items. People are impressed with movers if the job gets done without catastrophe. I will definitely suggest my building not promote this over-priced over-legalized company. If a customer is required to sign a 4 page contract, obviously it won't be in your favor. read more

I had a dresser delivered to my home and the delivery company left it outside of my front door due to covid-19 protocols. My husband and I were unable to move dresser inside and upstairs by ourselves because it was over 175 lbs. I called Moyer & Sons as a first time customer and they sent two employees out to help us right away! They were at our house within 20 minutes and moved the dresser upstairs without any hiccups. They were very friendly and did an amazing job. I appreciated how careful they were in regards to our freshly painted walls as well as how they thoroughly wrapped and secured the dresser to prevent any damage to it. Would highly recommend!
