There aren't too many stations in this area that are easy to find, or I would have moved on to another. The price was about 20 cents more expensive per gallon than the stations I saw out in the 'burbs, but their costs are higher here I suppose. Why, you ask, a one-star review? Starting with the completely unplowed parking lot and pump area. It was an ice rink. So the car slipped and slid a bit as I pulled in. Okay, no biggie. It's Chicago, right? And when the nozzle went clunk and I returned it to the pump, no receipt. WTF, people. So now I have to lock the car, make my way across the unplowed parking area and enter the shop. At least the clerk was efficient enough to provide the receipt quickly (sliding it under the bullet proof glass). Thank you, whomever. Uck. I would go elsewhere next time.

I know its not a name brand but I'll let you in on a secret: all the gas in the area comes from the BP refinery in Whiting. The brand names will add their additives to differentiate themselves but its more a marketing ploy. So five stars on the price of gas here and maybe knock off a star for the well-worn appearance of the place.

The young lady working was super friendly and fun also. We Jokes about stimulus stuff while I waited for the lady in front of me to pay her $14 worth of gas- with coins! The cashier and I looked like "what!" It was a funny moment indeed and the lady just kept messing up the count because of distractions and it was actually funny. So when she finally got her gas and left, I stood there for quite some time just laughing a good amount of time and just having fun with it. It was harmless and just passed the time. Although I did spend more money on zoo zoo's and wham wham's (that's candy and junk food) but I digress. The station is filled up with all the times you need and of course gas, but it's not the least expensive of gas to say the least but it's gas what else can you say?

There's about eight pumps available and they do not sell diesel fuel. There is a small store but I wouldn't trust to go inside. Be careful when pulling in and out of the lot as there isn't much space to make wide turns and it's off of a busy street.

I use to come here alot, but the gas started to inch up little by little and of course, that did not impress me. They do have a car wash so if you purchase that, you do save a little more on gas. Usually though they are not crowded (hmmm I wonder why), but again, if you want a cup of coffee and maybe something for breakfast, you have a wide variety of items to choose from.

Travelers can enjoy this rest stop! Diesel Station is behind Gas Pumps, just to the East. Very clean outside , with table & chairs to enjoy some food , snack on your rest. They have both hot food for take away & fresh items as well. The gas prices are competitive. Nice enough service , simple exchange. Open 24/7 . I wanted to give them 5 stars, really think they are doing such a good job in such a busy area BUT ^The bathrooms needed serviced, and I think they just need to watch that a little more closely. It's such a nice station and that gives off wrong impression for travelers. I notice on my travels some stations post a "cleaning service time" on their bathroom doors. Seems pretty transparent to the Managers and Staff who has been cleaning and when. At least it helps them to know if they need to check every 2 hours- 3 hours. That's a good way to monitor. Just a suggestion. Great place to stop! Definitely notice the 10 cent per gallon difference, if you want to take advantage of that. Also, there's a nice Car Wash just a block or so South of here. On Central.*** I also really appreciated their landscaping, and nice flowers. With a nice new sidewalk that is handicap accessible, since the Pace Bus Stops there as well.
