When my KitchenAid fixed-head stand mixer started making horrible grinding sounds I called Mike. He was very quick to respond and I was able to bring it in the same day. I mentioned that my husband's birthday was coming up and wondered if it would be ready by then, but I could see there was plenty of work ahead of mine. I was thrilled to get a call the day before his birthday to hear it was ready for pickup! With new gears, lubrication, lift adjustment and paint touch up it was gorgeous! Using it was delayed by some life events, but yesterday the promised cake was created and I'm here to tell you that mixer never sounded or worked better when it was brand new! I creamed butter, sugar, and cream cheese and it actually picked up all ingredients and did it perfectly! Absolutely thrilled with the work. Thrilled to keep it going without ending up in the landfill. I have a "new" mixer for many times less than the cost of an actual new one and anticipate many more years of use. Michael has repaired and restored two late 1800s E. Ingraham mantle clocks for me. The E. Ingraham Company was one of the premier American clock and watch manufacturers during the 19th and 20th centuries. Headquartered in Bristol, Connecticut, the firm was founded in 1831 by Elias Ingraham. The first clock he repaired was one I purchased on Etsy. The clock arrived from the seller completely dismantled (not disclosed by the seller) and I had my doubts that it could be repaired and would run again. I took the clock to Mr Fixit and he told me to have faith... Michael repaired and restored the clock to its original glory (see photo #2). I was very impressed and his craftsmanship and attention to detail were phenomenal. The second clock is one I found on eBay. The clock did not run properly and the hour gong needed repaired to be in sync with the time. Once again Michael exceeded my expectations. I cannot speak highly enough about his knowledge and abilities to repair and restore antique clocks.
