You walk in and the staff is so warm and sweet. The decor is cozy and overall very welcoming. The coffee and hot chocolate were delicious and our meals were really good. My boyfriend had the steak and eggs - steak was well seasoned and the eggs were delicious. We had fries with it which were honestly amazing. I had a country omelet which was absolutely delicious. Our server was so sweet and we will be back!!

As always a great experience. Consistent food quality, cleanliness, and Service. After a stow storm we couldn't wait to get out of the house, Mr. Geez hit the spot.

Mr. Geez 500 Schuyler Ave. Lyndhurst, NJ 07071 Mr. Geez Wing Combo BBQ Chicken Fries Asian Wrap Monte Cristo Extreme Brownie Milkshake I previously explored several breakfast plates at this locally owned restaurant and each choice was a home run. It is now time to scope some eats from the lunch menu. If you are looking for the best of three worlds, Mr. Geez Wing Combo is a definitely must try. Named after the restaurant, this starter serves a piping hot variety of wings: Buffalo, Teriyaki, and Honey BBQ. You won't have to worry about choosing because you can try them all! Because I enjoyed the Honey BBQ wings the most, I decided to have a variation by exploring the BBQ chicken fries. This may be an appetizer, but it practically serves as a meal. The large plate was piled high and deep with hearty chunks of barbecue chicken atop thinly sliced french fries. You can try to finish this in one sitting, but I can virtually guarantee that won't happen! It's time to try a piece from the east. The asian wrap is primarily packed with teriyaki chicken, mandarin oranges, fried wontons and other toppings. Of all the toppings, I personally recommend holding the onions. The monte cristo is the way to go if you are yearning a gourmet sandwich. This hoagie was packed with ham, turkey, multiple cheeses with a side of raspberry preserves. It also includes freshly made potato chips and a side of raspberry preserves dipping sauce. You can smear the spread onto the sandwich or dip the chips. Either way, it will make your day! The extreme brownie milkshake is a perfect closer to the lunch menu. I doubled my desire by substituting chocolate ice cream to supplement the three large, chewy brownies; Talk about chocolatey. You probably won't be able to finish this in one sitting, but you can always save the brownies for your next dessert! Regardless of whichever plate I try, it's always a home run. Stop by today and this place will make your day!

Location: Industrial/Residential part of Lyndhurst, NJ. Service: Speedy. Attentive. Personable. Food: Unique. As in who ever heard of a gigantor Muffin Top? Not me. It's described as a Corn Muffin Top as large as your plate. How could I resist? Delicious! They also serve a Monte Cristo. I rarely see this classic option offered. Ambiance: Warm. Inviting. Old school 50's music giving contrast to the modern decor. A large soothing to watch fish tank placed centrally in the restaurant. Wish we lived closer, Mr. Geez would surely be on repeat. TIP: Old School Bankers Hours Open Early - 8:00AM Close Early - 3:00PM

Place was great ! Big menu, and great service from our waitress doing it all. The wafffle was super light and tasty - was a good bargain spot too.

My friend and I had lunch at Mr Geez yesterday. The food was phenomenal! Mr Geez is one of those restaurants that follows the "bigger is better" philosophy and does huge dishes with many components. It works out pretty well for them! My lunch was called "The Muffin Top." It was a huge corn cake with Canadian bacon and eggs your way on top. On the side was some breakfast sausage and bacon. The corn cake was delicious. All the proteins were cooked to perfection! My only complaint about this place is their lunch menu was a little light. Nothing looked that appetizing. That's why I ordered from the breakfast menu. My friend got a chicken and waffle sandwich. It was huge! It came with chips on the side and bacon on a stick lol. He enjoyed it a lot. Just an FYi: as of January 2024, you will be charged $5 extra for sharing a plate. Guess they have too many people doing that. There are signs everywhere announcing this. Overall, Mr Geez was a cool restaurant with some very friendly staff. I liked the food, although I wish they had more options, and the building was great. Hope to return some day.

Mr. Geez has been on my bookmarks for a while! Finally tried it out today and it'll probably be on my rotation now! We came for breakfast but lunch looked absolutely great too. It's very cute inside, a huge fish tank sits right in the middle of the dining room too. We got a BLT, which came with house made chips - delish, avocado toast, waffles and a short stack. The BLT was great, the avocado toast was delicious but I might ask for it on sourdough or rye next time. The waffles and the pancakes are great, I especially like the pancakes. They were thin and soft but had a crispy outside, they're fantastic. Definitely try them when you're here. Their fries are on my list next! Servers kept coming out with huge plates of fries topped high with different toppings - they looked great. Parking is easy and the service was good. I do wish they came around with fresh coffee as a refill but maybe I need to ask next time. Overall - a great breakfast spot.

Grilled chicken sandwich and eggs Benedict
    Su L.

Giving it only 3 stars because my grilled chicken with avocado sandwich was bland, chicken was bland and dry. My partner got eggs Benedict and his was good, he said. Our waitress was fast and friendly. She asked us if we wanted anything else and without asking, refilled my coffee cup. Loved that. Ambiance was cozy, clean and welcoming.

What a treat! The pancakes were so light with a crispy edge, tender with a sweet butter taste. I wish I had gotten a full stack they were that good! The waitress was pleasant and efficient and had coffee refilled without having to ask. The inside has booths and tables and is sufficiently lighted and clean. My suggestion...have a full stack of pancakes!

The menu is fixed-price, four courses with three options each -- simple, elegant, and unpretentious. Cash discount in March is a nice bonus too. Now the food -- where do I start. The **Roasted Candied Beets Carpaccio** was visually stunning and tasted even better. Blood Orange Balsamic Vinaigrette, Burrata, Prosciutto -- every flavor had its own moment. The **Crab Cake** was loaded with fresh, quality crab -- the chive oil pairing was spot on. But the showstopper? **Venison Wellington.** Tender, perfectly seasoned, and not something you see on many menus. I would order it again without hesitation. Finished with a peanut butter, chocolate and banana dessert paired with an espresso -- an absolutely perfect ending. The staff was warm, attentive, and somehow never made you feel rushed or hovered over. That's a gift. Easily one of the best dining experiences I've had. We had high expectations for your restaurant, given its reputation, and the many times we frequent your establishment. However, unfortunately, several issues arose that significantly impacted our evening. We arrived for our reservation and began at the bar with a drink before moving to our table. (2-glasses of bar wine) We sat at the table and then ordered a second glass of wine, which took approximately 15 minutes to arrive--despite the restaurant appearing relatively quiet after 7 PM with only a four-tables occupied. When we inquired at the bar, we were told there were no glasses available, which should have been addressed proactively. Additionally, when reviewing the menu, we did not see a ribeye listed on the menu. We asked the server if there was one available. Our server explained that a ribeye was available for $85. We proceeded to order it (along with a salad, as no other green vegetable options like spinach was available). However, the server later clarified that the $85 price referred to a different steak, and the ribeye we received was priced at $199. This was at the time we received the final bill. This misunderstanding was not clearly communicated upfront, leading to confusion and total disappointment! To make matters worse, when the steak arrived, it appeared totally undercooked (essentially raw in the center), and by the time we addressed it and attempted to proceed, our accompanying mashed potatoes had gone cold. The meat never tastes correct when recooked after bring sliced!!!!!Overall, we felt the service and communication was unacceptable, leaving us confused and terribly dissatisfied. As the owner and chef, is well respected I wrote to him only to find no reply at all. No manager was available on-site to assist us at the time. It is clear the restaurant is failing as there were three tables on Saturday night at 7:00 pm.

The interior is visually impressive: elegant table linens, comfortable leather chairs, and a dining room that looks polished and upscale. When we arrived, what appeared to be the owner was greeting guests at the entrance. Since he was welcoming everyone and dressed differently from the rest of the staff, we assumed he was the owner. It was a great touch and immediately raised our expectations. Unfortunately, the experience did not fully match that first impression. We started with drinks: a glass of wine for me and an Old Fashioned for my wife. As happens too often in restaurants, the stronger drink was automatically assumed to be mine, and the drinks were delivered incorrectly. It's a small detail, but one that reflects attention--or lack of it. Bread arrived quickly, followed soon after by the food. I ordered the gnocchi with meat sauce. The dish was acceptable, but nothing extraordinary. My wife ordered the house seafood salad, which was very good--fresh, flavorful, and easily the best dish we had that night. Our waiter spoke limited English. Once he realized we also spoke his language, the service became noticeably more relaxed and somewhat overly familiar. He immediately tried to guide us toward the most expensive items on the menu. When I declined coffee after dinner, he responded by saying something along the lines of: "Well, that's your choice, but the coffee here is very good," which felt unnecessary. We also had a small issue with the Old Fashioned garnish. The orange peel looked unusual, so we asked for the drink to be replaced. The waiter did replace it, though he first tried to explain that what we thought were worms were simply marks on the fruit peel. For dessert we ordered the tiramisu, which the waiter promoted heavily as the best dessert to try. Unfortunately, it didn't deliver. Instead of the classic layered presentation, it arrived more like a cup full of cream with a few pieces of soaked bread and very little coffee flavor. The issue was not just the dessert itself, but the expectations created when it was described. Bareli's is a beautiful restaurant with a great location and atmosphere, but the service details and execution didn't quite match the level suggested by the setting.

The service was still professional and friendly, but the food left something to be desired. Though it was a Thursday evening, the weather was not great, so it was not overly surprising that the restaurant was not very crowded. Because of that fact, the gracious hostess offered us our choice of a few different tables, from a larger booth to a two-top near the window. We opted for the booth that would give us a chance to look out into the restaurant AND to still see the Manhattan skyline. We decided to order some drinks, and I opted for an Espresso Martini, which was not typically something I would have gotten before dessert, but I wanted the extra caffeine! Plus, their version included a caramel cold foam, which enticingly made it extra creamy and delicious. In fact, it was definitely one of the best espresso martinis I had ever had. We were deciding to skip any starters, so we asked for some bread while we waited for our entrees. The plate of focaccia was decent and hit the spot, but we were charged $2 for it, which was not a big deal but also not appreciated. For my entree, I went with the Lobster Bouillabaisse. The broth was flavorful, but there was not much of it. In fact, the dish came with three sweet rolls to dip into the soup, but I could have lived with less given the limited amount of liquid in the bowl. The included blue prawns were good, but the Hokkaido scallops and lobster were chewy. There was also supposed to jumbo lump crab, which seemed to have been replaced by gritty clams. There were also leeks and Yukon potatoes that were sliced in small cylinders and looked fairly similar to each other. The potatoes were bland, cold, and under-cooked. Overall, it was not very impressive for $48. My companion's Prime Filet Mignon was of an unknown size on the menu, but arrived looking smaller than the typical 8-ounces. It was also over-cooked. He did like his mashed potatoes, though. For dessert, we decided to get the Apple and Pear Bread Pudding again, since that had been excellent last time and would hopefully be a redeeming feature of the meal, which it was. The sweet, caramelized brioche had been infused with cubes of fruit, baked, and drizzled with a sea salt caramel. We replaced the designated companion creme fraiche gelato with a scoop of passion fruit sorbet, which was less of an appropriate pairing, but more of an appealing variety to us. While Drift truly offered a stunning space with incredible service, they really could improve their culinary preparations.
