I ended up there when my long-time mechanic was too busy to do that for me (in the timeframe I needed, work travel upcoming) and he said "Call Coast on Baig, I'd take my car to Bill and not think twice, they're good over there". That was all I needed to hear from another mechanic I knew and trusted over the years. Fast forward 4 years and they just did a complete front/back brake replacement and a complete clutch replacement for me on a 2011 Forester and they treated me very well. They have a couple great mechanics on staff and their knowledge will save labour cost. They are more than fair on parts and definitely shaved a bit for me when they found hidden problems...that they had warned me they wouldn't know "till it was apart". Cannot speak highly enough of the front end staff and how easy they were to deal with, up front about costs, process, timeline, etc. Bill and Ed and the gang are great over their. Twice! not once but twice I was screwed over by Eastern Spring here in Moncton. The first instance…read moreoccurred when my 1999 VW Jetta was leaking coolant, the rep at Eastern Spring had his mechanic evaluate the trouble and concluded that it was a blown head gasket and mentioned that they would repair it for $1400! Turns out the problem was actually very minor, I discovered a small rubber tube that was causing the leak and replaced it for $10, a far cry from the $1400 that these thieves wanted. My VW hasn't leaked a drop since and it's been over a year now. The 2nd and most recent screw job happened earlier today when I took my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee to be inspected by Eastern Spring, after a long wait time they came back with a myriad of problems including brake shoes, tie rod ends, ball joints just to name a few. I felt like this was classic gouging at it's best so I did what anyone with common sense would do and took it to a mechanic that I trusted for a 2nd opinion and sure enough it passed without fault, after passing I showed the other mechanic the list of problems Eastern Spring had issued me and he laughed. If you're considering Eastern Spring DON'T! Go else where! Their business is clearly failing and they are trying their hardest to gouge anyone that comes through the door for a quick buck.

One thing though, if you bring your car there to get the tires switched (from winter to summer tires, or the other way around), be very sure to tell them you don't want any extras. Went to a competent mechanic and was told we have roughly 3900$ worth of repairs to be done. Most of which were VERY apparent. DO NOT go to this shop. Called to make a formal complaint. Mechanic didn't want to hear it so he pawned me off to reception. Reception couldn't find my file even though we were there less than 2 weeks ago because they don't know how to use a computer and don't have a proper filing system. I had to point out that no one bothered to apologise because they certainly wouldn't have done it on their own. Instead they insisted their gross negligence "didn't sound like something they would do" and asked if I was calling the right place. Terrible service, incompetent mechanics.

Truly, Loftus Auto Clinic is a shinning diamond among all possible repair garages. An acquaintance…read morerecommended them when we were experiencing issues with one of our older cars, so we brought it in on their word. Turns out that the alternator had run it's course. The owner of the garage gave me 2 choices: they could put in a new alternator or, since the car was old and we were just using it until we purchased another vehicle, he suggested leaving it over night and he would rebuild the present alternator and put it back in the car. I took the second option, and that held us for another few months until we bough another car. Another example: we brought our truck over to Canadian Tire to get the inspection done. That garage recommended we change quite a few things before it passed inspection, and the estimated cost was roughly $1,200. We brought it to Loftus: they looked at the estimate, looked over the truck and agreed that many of the things needed to be changed. However, once it was all said and done, the total cost for the service was $360 (and they bill by half-hour in terms of labour!). Since then, the truck has been running like a dream. The people who work here are all incredibly helpful and, more importantly, honest. They truly are exceptional at pleasing their customers and I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone who needs their car fixed. PS: They also offer a towing service with the same excellent commitment to customer service.

Spoke with Marc at Loftus and he was adamant that it was done and I could tell based on the oil filter. It would be a FRAM oil filter he said. So I took it to the dealer and had them check it and there words were the "oil is black as molasses and it still has the original Toyota filter from the previous oil change." They kept a sample of the oil for me as there was no question in their minds that the oil change was not done. Stay away they can't be trusted.

But Chris said no problem we can fix this. His mechanic grabbed a drill and when to work. About two hours and two trips to a neighboring town for parts and he fixed my problem.
