My friend and I finally decided to try this spot we always pass, and honestly I'm glad we did. What pulled us in was that it's not AYCE. We're never great at eating our money's worth, so the pay-as-you-go setup felt like a better fit. We got the favorite set for two, which ended up being plenty. The biggest highlight right away: they grill everything for you. KBBQ is just better when you can sit back and eat instead of managing the grill yourself. They also use a back grill to keep things moving, so there's barely any pause between rounds of meat. It felt really efficient. Also, the place is surprisingly clean and doesn't have that heavy "you're going to smell like smoke for the next 5 hours" vibe, which I really appreciated. Somehow they keep it all under control even with constant grilling. Service-wise, the staff were attentive and clearly working hard, especially since it seemed a bit understaffed. That said, my friend did feel a little uncomfortable at times. There were a few moments where it felt like we were being watched closely, almost like they were worried about a dine-and-dash situation, and we were asked multiple times if we had paid. I personally read it more as things being slightly disorganized with a small team juggling cooking, serving, and payments, but I can see how it might come across differently depending on how you interpret it. Food-wise, the meat was very good, but the banchan really stood out to me. The cabbage salad with a gingery soy dressing was super refreshing and cut through the richness of the meat perfectly. Free refills on banchan are always a win too. I also liked that the grill came with corn cheese, egg, and sprouts, nice extras you don't always get. The corn cheese wasn't as sweet as I expected, and the egg was a bit on the salty side, but still enjoyable. Back in the days if you wanted to eat decent Korean BBQ in Philly you had to go to 5th street. Most of the Korean BBQ along 5th street remind me of old style, but Mr. Pig definitely incorporates the newer style. The place is spacious, they grill your meat in front of you and cut up the meat for you. The flavour of the meat was very good. Service was pretty good; wish they had a little more varieties with banchan and gave us more lettuces (you pay once for lettuces and you can ask for refills, but the servers seem very busy it gets difficult to ask them). We ordered the Favorite Set that came with rice for 2 + 4 banchans + 3 hot ones on the grill + salad, ordered seafood pancake and japchae on the side. It had a warehouse feel with blowers/fans above the cooktops. Def had a normal kbbq feel. Spacious and comfy is the best way I can describe the space! Ordered steamed dumpling and kimchi stew for appetizers, both were very good, the stew was not too sour and had plenty of tofu. The steamed dumplings were good, and the dipping sauce was excellent. We ordered several different dumplings individual beef BBQ options in using Galbi, Bulgogi and Ribeye. They cooked the ribeye first, then the Bulgogi & then Galbi on a separate table, while we enjoyed all the free sides, including potato salad, fish cake, kimchi & cucumbers, which all were excellent. My husband and I love Korean bbq. So when I saw that this place has good ratings, we decided to give it a try. It is conveniently located near Chinatown, bus stop, and 676. Spacious, sleek, high industrial ceiling, and clean. Bright light at each table. In the wall near the cashier, there are paintings of of men in traditional Korean clothing. On the other side of the wall there are two televisions. One is showing a music video ok K-pop with no sound. Hip hop music is playing but not too loud. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly hostess who directed us to the table. Our waiter was very friendly, attentive, and engaging. He offered refills for our side dishes a couple of times. He explained that the restaurant has been opened for 9 months. Weekend can be busy. We ordered bulgogi and spicy pork belly to be cooked on the barbecue plate. They also have menu items that are cooked in the kitchen. Our orders come with refillable side dishes served on small plates: fish cakes, kimchi, fermented beans spread, rice, a mini dollop of mashed potato and corn, and cabbage. We also get a bowl of salad to be shared. The barbecue plate is slanted with three sections at the rim for more side dishes: cheese and corn, bean sprouts, and steamed egg made fresh as our waiter poured the liquid egg into the compartment. I've never seen such design. It allows the grease flows down. First, raw onion and beech mushrooms are put on the grill plate then they are mixed with bulgogi. The meat is ready in a short time and not burnt. My favorite side dish is the cheese and corn. As the plate gets hotter, the cheese is melting so you can see cheese pull. So yummy. The exhaust system is well designed. Our clothes don't smell like barbecue at all. It was a fun dining experience for us. There's a sign that says if you bring the receipt from Me. What amazes me every time I visit a different Korean BBQ are the various approaches to grilling meat. While some tables are used to cook over an open flame, most of the meat is cooked over a transportable griddle which simultaneously cooks additional side dishes like cheesy corn and eggs. The meat consists of some quality cuts and had more options than traditional beef and pork, including chicken, shrimp and even octopus. Everything was tasty, although I do wish the bulgogi has a bit more flavor. However, that being said- the service is very attentive and they make you feel right at home even though you're surrounded by sleek, modern surroundings. This restaurant exceeded all of my expectations. It was one of my best dining experiences of 2025 so far and I will return. The restaurant is new, extremely clean, and well ventilated. Great aesthetic with a very upbeat atmosphere. It was busy, but not crowded and the service was outstanding. A pay for parking lot is super close if you dislike the struggle of looking for parking. There were 5 of us and we ordered the Mr. Pig combo (a mix of pork, beef, and shrimp). The pork stir fry was so delicious with fresh jalapeños. We added an order of bulgogi and I'm so glad we did. It was my favorite of all the meat. Shout out to all the Korean shows I watch that referenced bulgogi for this recommendation. Soju and a melon like smoothie all were great drinks to go with this meal. Dessert is yummy and if you have a celebration a cute pig mascot will come out and dance for you. 20% gratuity is added automatically to all groups 5 or more. Just had lunch here with the family. Ordered the spicy pork and the pork galbi. It's cooked on a big circular pan. On the sides are bean sprouts, corn and cheese and a Korean steamed egg. Time to get serious. My husband and I decided to celebrate our anniversary in Philly and stumbled upon a Korean BBQ joint at the edge of Chinatown in a new building. The servers were attentive and on point. They made sure our drinks were always filled and cooked our BBQ to perfection. And let's not forget about the food. Walked in on a Wednesday summer night and was quickly seated as there were only a few other filled tables. The restaurant is huge so can't imagine there's ever a super long wait. You sit at a table with 4-5 seats around a grill which is filled with a couple of additional sides separate from the banchan--a super unique feature that I haven't seen in the past and really enjoyed (except that I had to wait for the steamed egg to cook). Also the waitstaff cooks the meat for you and even tells you when the meat is ready to eat! Food honestly hit the spot. Toppokki was great texture and not too spicy. Soybean soup came out perfect temperature and was not too salty as some other places can be. As for the meat, I would say it's about the same as your standard Korean bbq place. We got the mix and match for 2-3 and ordered a half serving of the kalbi and it was plenty for 2 very hungry people in addition to our sides. I deducted a star bc towards the end I'm not sure if the waitstaff wandered off or if they assumed we'd eat it all but the pork belly had stayed in the middle of the grill too long and gotten burnt :( additionally you have to pay extra for white rice which I just don't like on principle even if it's becoming standard for some Asian restaurants. It isn't all you can eat, so we chose one beef option and a couple pork options. It is pricier, but the pork options were reasonably priced. This place was *so* much fun. It's quite new, with excellent grills and vents. The menu is classic, with lots of meat combinations rather than AYCE. The grill pan comes with corn cheese and steamed egg already, which was a nice touch. I came with a group of 6, and we ordered a ton of food for the table and they did a great job bringing out it gradually and keeping us fed with lots of great meat. I think they were even precooking some of the meat so we didn't crowd the grill? Regardless, they made everything super easy. A note for service - they won't come and check on you, so you do need to wave them down if you need anything like more drinks, rice (for some reason we didn't get any until we remembered halfway through the meal), or the bill. We ended up at about $40pp for food, which felt quite reasonable for the quality and variety that we got. My favorite part of this place as when they started celebrating birthdays, and the staff came out in a pig mascot hat and sang a Korean version of happy birthday. It was so much fun! read more

The restaurant is a block north of Chinatown with a lot of available street parking nearby. Atmosphere: We were seated right away, likely because the restaurant was still new when I went.
