This is just my honest opinion. Not every restaurant is for every person. Mr. Quick is a staple in the West Orlando area. After dropping my car to be serviced, my husband and I had a hour or so on our hands, so stopped in for a late breakfast early lunch. Just what everyone has said, it is a mom and pop diner and you shouldnt go there for the ambiance or immaculate table settings. You will get a warm hello and you will definitely got the feeling that there are regulars who frequente here, which is great. We sat in a booth near the restrooms and as we sat there at least 5-6 people who did not order entered the building to use the restroom and leave. I probably shouldn't complain but it felt a little weird. The menu had lots of options at a very reasonable price. We had the western omelette and French toast breakfast (had lots of butter). Everything was just ok. Waffle House is better to me, but I did appreciate how nice the staff was to the elderly regulars. That was top notch. read more

Overall, Mr. Quick was a great place to go for breakfast/brunch and the omelets and waffles are highly recommended! The food was really good (pretty typical of a diner) but I would definitely say that the experience was made complete because of the staff and the warm, homey feeling that you get from being there. MQ has been a fixture on the Westside for decades. My fam and I used to eat here a lot years ago and we decided to drop in for old times sake this past Sunday. The place was packed, but we were able to grab a table for 4 right away. Our server was fantastic...very attentive and friendly despite being in the weeds. First time coming here and it's 5 minutes away from my house. Off kirkman and colonial. It's a small restaurant, it's been around for over 40 years. When we walked in, it smelled like Clorox which could scare anyone off lol but for me it means THEY ARE CLEAN!!!!!!! Now the place is old, so don't expect anything fancy schmancy ... kinda has a Waffle House feel but more homey and less dirty lol But take my word for it, EVERYTHING WAS SOOOOOO DAMN GOOD!!! Stopped here on the way to work on a Monday morning, hoping they were actually 'quick' as in the name. There were only about 3-4 other parties seated at the time, with one server and two cooks. I took a seat at the bar, was acknowledged immediately and had my order in within about 5 minutes. within another five to seven minutes, it was placed in front of me on the table ready to eat, and so hot I had to wait for it to cool. So far so good. I tried the sausage and cheese omelet, with hash browns, white toast, and coffee. The whip the eggs using what I believe is a milkshake blender, so it makes them very light and fluffy. It's good, but a little strange for an omelet I would think. Otherwise, the food tasted fine. It was served plain, and you season that yourself to taste.the coffee tasted a little off, but then again so did the cup of water, so I'm guessing that's the common denominator. As for the building itself, it looks like it's an old waffle House that was bought and freshened up. Still has the same bones, benches, and overall layout. The floors look like they've been replaced with a laminate meant to look like wood floors. The bar stools had stained cushions. The staff are friendly, and checked on you very frequently. Overall, it was a decent experience. I would not be opposed to going back, but with all the other choices for breakfast in Orlando, I would probably try other places before coming back to this one for a second go. If you're looking for a diner with good pricing and quick service however, this may be the place for you. read more

This is a great breakfast spot and they are quick hence the name. My husband and I stopped by Judy's dinner and was told there would be an hour wait for a take out order. We were too hungry to wait , so we rode up the street to Mr. Quick. I'm so glad we did. Our server's name was Lisa and she is absolutely amazing!!! And the food was simple, yet perfect. My only disappointment was that they don't serve pancakes. But I hear they serve a "mean " Belgium waffle and French toast. I'll be sure to try them on our next visit. I order the classic breakfast - 2 eggs, 3 pieces of bacon, grits and toast. I added a side of hash browns too. And I cleaned the plate. Lol My husband ordered the pork chop breakfast ( highly recommended by Lisa )- 2 eggs, grits, 2 chops and toast. It was very tasty as well. The staff is always friendly. Service is always good. Food cooked to order. You can watch them cook the food from some of the seating. The menu is pretty extensive including some real southern dishes. They do take call in orders to go. There is also outdoor seating as well. (Review based on a lunch on July 6, 2011.) Mr. Quick's wears the badge of a greasy spoon proudly. They served diner fare to Orlando for 35 years. And it does give you a sense of a time warp. The decor is pretty much right out of the late 70s/early 80s with wood paneling, old floor tiles, drop ceilings. The menu is typical of what you expect: standard breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, etc. The prices are quite affordable and inexpensive. But it's appropriate to the quality. You're not going to get a new take on a classic dish, you're going to get the classic dish. I splurged and went for a unique Craig's Famous Chopped Steak sandwich--an 8 oz beef patty. It was served with grilled onions, green peppers, mushrooms and American cheese. I requested it served medium, and the cook got it right. I also asked for spicy monterey jack cheese, but they didn't get that right. However the American cheese tasted fine. It was served on wheat toast, which the hamburger patty's juices soaked the bottom slice. In hindsight, I'd ask for a more substantial bun. I added a side of tots for good measure. The staff is courteous and service was prompt. There's a lot of old Orlando in Mr. Quick--from the decor, to the staff, to the patrons. The food is good and the prices are great. You won't see hipsters, or foodies here, and that's just alright by me. read more

I've come here often growing up but this was my first time back in over 2 years. I have to say that I was disappointed. They have new servers that are not what I was accustomed to in regards to experience. This is a popular breakfast stop in the area with limited seating so luckily we found a table. As soon as we say we were greeted and gave our drink orders. We patiently waited as people kept coming in and placing to-go orders and picking up food. Finally after about 20minutes the owners wife came over and helped us. We informed her about the inattentive waitress. After placing our orders the food came out fast and delicious as usual. I usually get the catfish and grits breakfast but I tried the breakfast burger and it was to die for. There is a fried price of ham and egg over easy placed inside of the usually burger ingredients. It comes with tater tots smothered in white peppered gravy. I loved it. The food here is great, the service just needs to be improved to ensure that the experience will complement the food. This my second time eating at this resturant. The only reason why I came back is because my husband thought it was good the first time. Like the last time the resturant is filthy. Even walking up to the door. Just turned my stomach. This time the food was not good. Im relieved because now that we are both turned off we will not return here. It doesnt take much to wife the windows. Cobwebs, bugs, dirty tables. I never drink from their cups. If the place is that dirty can you imagine the ice machine? But thats a gamble everywhere you go. It doesn't get more authentic home style mom & pop diner in Orlando than this! So many options on the menu I never know where to begin. Whenever I'm in this area & they are open I always try to swing by, and have also taken several 30 minute trips from the East side just to come out here. Every visit the staff has been incredibly (&genuinely) friendly & the food has never once disappointed, no matter what item on their diverse menu I've tried. Noticed a couple comments about the old decor, but IMO that is one element I absolutely love about Mr Quick..It indeed feels like you've stepped into the 70's or 80's when you come here, but that is a big part of the charm, and evidence this local spot has been making customers happy for around 40 years! This is a classic dinner on the west side of Orlando. The food is served hot and fresh and the staff are friendly as could be. I came here for a breakfast meeting and really enjoyed the western omelet and home fries. The server also kept my cup of coffee full the entire time. I left with a full stomach and fully caffeinated. I was passing through and decided to get breakfast here, so I'm a first-time customer. I had the 3-egg fluffy Bacon & Cheese Omelet with hash browns and toast. When the waitress delivered it I said, "Wow! That was fast!" They live up to the restaurant name! Then I was shocked to see an Omelet as big as my head (pic below)! I love Mr Quick. An awesome old style diner, it is laid out like old diners (and waffle houses) are, where you can see them prepare your food. The chef cuts up with coworkers and guests alike and is pretty funny. I have only gone here for breakfast and have really liked it. This is probably the best biscuits and gravy in Orlando. A lot of flavor, a little spicy, plenty of sausage mixed in with the gravy, nice biscuits. You can ask them for fluffy eggs and they are so big they will blow your mind. I got a fluffy omlette here and I could barely move when I left. They crack the eggs and then aerate them in a blender before cooking them, which makes them fluff up amazingly.
