We booked Alfie for an 80th birthday party. He was brilliant! The booking process was very straight-forward with Alfie quick to respond and very friendly. He arrived when agreed. He got stuck in immediately and was so good that even those who had vowed not to be drawn ended up sitting for him. The youngest he drew was 3; the oldest 82. He drew individuals and couples. Whatever we wanted, he obliged. Everyone was put at their ease with a mixture of kindness, banter and (the occasional, as my daughter would describe it) "Dad joke". He was extremely good humoured and a pleasure to have at the party. An unplanned benefit was that during a long meal with children of different ages, Alfie provided an excellent distraction/entertainment for the children, as they marvelled at his skills. Alfie's drawings were superb. As we had under-estimated how popular he was, we hadn't booked him for long enough (our fault - definitely not his). As a result he speeded up at our request to try and get through everyone. Even then he turned out some absolute belters. We were really grateful to him for adding in a most positive way to our event. The birthday "boy" in particular was absolutely delighted with the atmosphere Alfie fostered. Can't recommend Alfie strongly enough. read more

I hired Alfie (aka Mr Sketchum) for my 50th birthday party on 2nd December in Brighton. My experience could not have been further from that of the only other review here. From first emails exchanges he was responsive, engaging, full of good advice and above all very funny. On the night, over four hours he turned out brilliant picture after brilliant picture and was the acknowledged highlight of the party according to friends, family and colleagues. He was gently mocking of guests physical characteristics in a funny and warm way which is all part of the act. If you don't get that, then there isn't much point hiring a caricaturist. In summary I would wholeheartedly recommend Alfie - if you have the right approach (by which I mean if you come armed with a sense of humour and a willingness to be teased) he'd be a brilliant addition to any event. I do not usually leave reviews but I got married on Saturday 28th July and was honestly blown away by Alfie and his drawings. At first, I was a little unsure if the guests would enjoy having a Caricature for entertainment but there was no need for such uncertainty. Alfie went down brilliantly! Every single guest loved him and his incredible drawings. The fun and laughter created by Alfie's drawings was truly wonderful to see. We had a wonderful wedding and Alfie was a huge part of our fantastic day! If you are looking for something unique, memorable and fun Alfie is certainly it. His drawings become a memento and keepsake from the wedding - ours is already in a frame on our living room wall! Alfie Deliss aka Mr. Sketchum was a brilliant addition to our daughter's party to celebrate her Confirmation over the weekend. Our guests were a mix of teens and adults who absolutely loved Alfie's sketches and caricatures of themselves. During our evening Alfie worked non stop for our guests (there was a queue!) and each sketch was presented in a lovely clear folder and made as a memorable and fun keepsake. After finding out about his amazing work online, we have contacted Alfie for the Summer Staff Party of The British Museum. He has been quick to respond, friendly and professional since the beginning. Alfie was superb. He came to our summer company garden party for about 30 guests in July 2022. He was a pleasure to work with throughout from discussing what was needed, contracting, creating specific artist paper with our company logo/design, and then on the day itself. Alfie is strong in quickly picking out the elements you would recognize people for, or intentionally making a bit of fun with someone where everyone (including the person) could have a laugh. Total joy from internet search start to finished products and post production comms . Alfie looks into the eyes of everyone he sketched and brought out their true characters . Booked for a large work party. Alfie worked the room amazingly and made everyone smile who wanted a picture. He provided plastic sleeves for all the pictures he did and was super professional all night. I was very happy with how many people he managed to draw!
