    Noodles with shrimp :(
    Janny P.

This place is a vibe so 5 stars on that, we got there at 2. there are 4 2 seat tables to sit for free anything else is$600. Your card must have a chip and you must pay before your order is put in . I was told unless the owner is here they aren't allowed to swipe cards, which I found odd but ok. The food wasn't fresh I paid $20 for noodles that came with 4 pieces of shrimp literally. The menu just said noodles, it didn't mention that it contained beef( that should be mentioned for people who don't eat that. In my opinion the prices for the food were not matching what we received. Other than that come to vibe I just wouldn't expect much from the kitchen. They don't make mixed drinks I ordered a margarita and that isn't a thing , the waitress offered a shot of what they had .

This place is a complete gem and is authentic and delicious as it gets. Our friend (who recently moved from Nigeria) took us here, so it was our first experience with Nigerian food and it was INCREDIBLE!! He said the food was the exact type of food you would get back in Lagos, if not better, and he felt right at home. We started off the with the suya and I couldn't get enough, it was so tender and flavorful, we almost got a second round. I had the jollof rice and turkey, while the other people in my group got the egusi, efo and yam. The food is top notch and would highly recommend this to anyone craving Nigerian fare or looking to try it for the first time. The atmosphere was really fun and festive and the service was above and beyond -- everyone was so friendly, our server made sure we were well taken care of and we even got to meet the owner who personally came over and introduced himself. We loved it so much that we even stayed for a hookah. We went pretty early in the evening, but our sever told us that it gets really lively later in the evening as people come for the music, dancing and hookah. Can't wait to come back again!

Ordered $26 egusi soup and received this ridiculously little bowl with no meat. Do not order from here

this place is located in a nice area with free parking... the most of the staff is over worked so they tend to give a lot of attitude... ordered food and after 30 minutes of waiting i asked to cancel the order and the waitress kept saying to give her 15 more minutes... it's now two hours and food still wasn't ready... when the food is finally ready after two hours it's was wrong and the fries taste stale as if it was just sitting for hours.. the bathroom is located exactly where they are making the hookah and that's a big safety hazard... won't be returning...

My food is awesome ! I never get just one thing it is all so good

Best Nigerian food in ATL. I love the noodles, jollof, and turkey wings. It's also a really cool vibe to go out at!

The pounded yam was smooth and not too thick. I had fun scooping up the Egusi in the Fufu with my hands. Both together was an enjoyable flavor and texture combo. The Beef Suya was good as well, a nice meat appetizer. The beef was cooked well done which some people may not like, but I enjoyed it since I grew up eating my steak that way. It paired very well with the spice blend and raw onions. I also had the Ghanaian Jollof Rice and that was not my most favorite dish due to the flavor. Not my cup of tea, but the rice was cooked well. I also liked the side plantains. The interior is nicely ornate and comfy. The service here was also super great and my assigned server was very personable. I genuinely enjoyed my conversation with her and she did well giving me recommendations and directions as a first timer for this type of food. Overall, I had a great experience here and would come back again!

so I have been bringing my family of 7 here for 3 years. We ordered our usuals this weekend 7/7/26…read more, and OMG i was SOOOOO mad !! it seems as if they got a new chef and the food was HORRIBLE! The okra soup was super thick, barely any soup / sauce. it had a bunch of sharp pieces of crew shell with no crab meat to be found. I usually feed it to my baby but it had so many sharp pieces. the egusi was SUPER dark and oily. it looked like dirty car oil and it was SALTY ! the chicken suya was great as always but they changed the dipping sauce that comes with it which is the main reason i even get the chicken. the sauce is disgusting. this was the absolute worst experience i've had here . it was a waste of my $125 and i will not be returning . i spend thousands yearly on this food and this experience has been a major turn off . i drive 35 minutes fron buckhead atleast 2x a month to enjoy this food and i am totally turned off from this latest experience . i would normally recommend but the change in the food was soooo drastic ! i'm scared!

You know nothing about serving customers in the restaurant industry. Every real restauranteur knows the at 1 minute to close you are full service. Lost a customer for life! I also tip very well especially close to closing so counter dude that offered baked chicken or oxtails instead of my fried catfish list atleast $20 because I respect good service late. But whatever you'll be closed in a year no doubt

Very dark and not many traditional tables and chairs. I came around lunch time and there were quite a few ladies in beautiful traditional dress (it was Christmas Eve). I had called ahead and ordered takeout and when I walked in I was promptly acknowledged. Food arrived in the quoted time (25 minutes). Nigerian cuisine is not one I'm incredibly familiar with, but I have tried many of the standard dishes. Today I went with White Rice and Red Stew, which comes with plantains. It was delicious. Piping hot and incredibly fresh. The spice level was perfect. Just spicy enough but in no way overpowering. The plantains added a sweet element which played beautifully against the spice of the stew. The only place they lost points was the price on the website is not the price I was charged. $19 on the website and I was charged $25 but maybe they just haven't updated to reflect current prices. Regardless, I really enjoyed my food and can't wait to go back and try some other dishes. Edit: Take note, it doesn't say "The Island Grill" on the sign. It says "The African Grill."
