While in Seattle, we stumbled upon Mr. West, a cute little café. I ordered a grilled cheese and a cup of tomato soup. The grilled cheese was made to perfection the bread was fresh, thick, and delicious, and it was packed with cheese! The tomato soup was also delicious with a unique flavor. My only (very minor) complaint is that it was served in a cup, which made it hard to dip the grilled cheese. A bowl would've been much better for dipping! Overall, this café was a quiet, cozy spot with pleasant employees. I'd definitely visit again. read more

I came here based on reviews and with the intent of trying their avocado toast. However upon arrival and looking at their menu, I went for their salmon toast. Why? Because you never turn away a delicious PNW Salmon dish. The place is cute, mainly wooden, lots of plants inside (my allergies were killing me here hehe). Plenty of sitting areas and window views too. I got lucky to seat by a window to just enjoy the rainy view. Their Salmon toast was delicious! I asked for the cream cheese on the side because I cant have lactose but I still wanted to try their dish with all ingredients. So I dipped the slices a few times to try it all and omg its so perfectly paired. I totally recommend it! The coffee was ok. I had their gingersnap latte seasonal drink. I asked with only 1 pump of sweet and alternative milk. I was not impressed. I prefer black coffee haha but if you enjoy sweet drinks you may enjoy this one. I absolutely love their root beer cream drink which is root beer + 2 shots of espresso and then cold foam on top. It wasn't on their printed menu display, but when I went over to the self-order kiosk, I was relieved to see it was available to order on there. They have that kiosk for people who just want to pick up a drink and leave, which was really convenient since there was definitely a small line for ordering with the barista. You can also preorder online as well. Plenty of seating, it was a cute space, and I think there's extra seating to the side of the main cafe as well, which is nice. I personally haven't tried their cocktails and other drinks, but some of my friends have and they loved those as well. read more

I've been here twice and had wildly different experiences each time. The first time was a Saturday. A google review erroneously said dogs were allowed in the shop, so I stopped by on my pups morning walk, hoping to pop in quickly and continue on our walk with my drink. When I saw the sign on the door saying no dogs, I opted to do a mobile order and wait on the porch. The projected time for my drink was over 30 minutes (CRAZY) but there weren't a whole lot of people inside, so I figured there was no way a matcha latte could take that long. ...Boy was I wrong! I hovered outside on the porch for about 20/25 minutes, keeping close track of the comings and goings, who was arrived around the and time as me and was still waiting, who was still watching their phone intently. Eventually, I went back inside and just made sure my pup sat still while I waited. At 30 minutes, I checked in and was told my drink was coming up "soon". It ended up taking nearly 40 minutes to get my drink. It was good, but not good enough to wait that long again. The second time was on a Friday afternoon. I went to Arrowhead right across the street, but they were sadly out of matcha. I REALLY wanted one, so we went here. My partner and I walked right up to the counter, ordered our drinks and got them almost immediately. The barista was deep in conversation w another worker and I feel like she just threw the drinks together so she could get back to yapping. Needless to say, both were absolutely disgusting. 99% milk with 1% matcha. The drink was barely even green. I definitely won't be back. read more

Logistically, Mr. West is a great spot for meeting people or working on your computer. The people working there are really nice, and the setup is perfect for lingering, with plenty of space to charge your devices. I used to live across the street and would estimate I've been there about a hundred times over the course of four years. Often, I'd get coffee and breakfast or lunch and spend hours working. Unfortunately, they got new owners a while back and the quality has declined. My favorite items used to be their homemade baked goods, like the tahini blondie or their coffee cakes. With the new owners, they just get their pastries from Macrina, so it's the same stuff you can get anywhere else in town. They also got rid of their cute wine section. I had a gift card and really struggled to spend it down before I moved away, because they simply didn't have anything I wanted. But still, I continued to go there, because it was so convenient. So in short, it's a great place to work or meet friends for the convenience, but quality has undoubtedly declined. BRING BACK THE TAHINI BLONDIE! read more

Unfortunately, for twice as much, I got half as much, and it was weak, and it took about 15 minutes to receive. While the barista was nice, can't say I really enjoy paying more for less and having it be inferior. This cafe is trying to be upscale, and maybe it is, but I feel you are paying for ambience, not for great espresso. Go to Monorail nearby. They will give you better love. read more

I visited Mr. West 3 times during a work trip- the coffee was that good! The line can get pretty long, so best to order online ahead if you're in a time crunch. My fave drink was the seasonal harvest oatchatta , which is an oatmilk latte with seasonal flavors. The current flavor was pear & cinnamon and I found it to be so very delicious when paired with espresso. A friend ordered the maple toffee latte and it was delicious as well. Neither drink was too sweet or tasted artificially flavored. 10/10 phenomenal coffee! In addition to coffee, Mr. West serves a variety of sandwiches, soup, salad, pastries, and breakfast items. The interior is roomy with a lot of seating space. They also have wine and beer for those wanting alcohol, and a nice happy hour. There are gluten-free and vegan options on the menu, and nondairy milk for coffee drinks. Overall, lots of options and high quality food and drink. The vanilla lattes were delicious and I equally enjoyed the brioche breakfast sandwich, shakshuka, and cinnamon apple pull apart tart. For lunch I tried the turkey club sandwich and wish I wouldn't haven't added the guacamole spread because it wasn't needed. I was able to get some work done for a couple hours and appreciated that the seating was comfortable and the WiFi was strong. In the afternoon, there's a bit of a happy hour vibe (aka, a table of folks drinking wine and cackling) which made working on my laptop impossible. This is a really cute spot! Located in the downtown area near the convention center, they have plenty of seating both inside the cafe and in an adjacent area to the left. I came at around 1pm on a weekday and it surprisingly wasn't too busy, but did start to fill up after that. I got an oat milk cappuccino which was decently priced - a rarity amongst the spots in Seattle now. It was quite good! Nothing extraordinary from the usual but I liked the strength of the coffee flavor. My favorite thing here really is just the ambiance and seating. There are plenty of tables where you can relax and/or get some work done. I'd definitely come back! I also want to try their food next time :) read more

Walked here from the Westin. Passed 50/11 coffee shops but the stand out was the picture of the Avocado Toast on Yelp. It's a beautiful restaurant and the staff were super nice. Pay and order as you walk in. Ordered everything lol had two orders of Avocado toast (we could have easily shared one); a breakfast plate I can't think of the name off thr top of my head but had boiled eggs, half an avocado and potatoes. Delicious. My favorite meal out of what we ordered. Fruit platter for the baby. Sides of bacon (big sliced and too chewy for me) and Chai Pudding which was a hit with my daughter. Most days I've tried to eat here, they're always full. I went here on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch and there weren't many people dining in at the time, so my friend and I took that opportunity to finally dine in here. They're in downtown, so you'll want to get here in a way that preferably does not involve driving. Inside is very bright and modern-like; there's a bunch of tables seating mostly up to 4 people, and there's a bunch of plants inside, mostly near the counter. The place serves breakfast foods, sandwiches, coffee and other things. You order at the counter before you take your seat. I'd say the service was pretty nice here, but didn't have too many interactions with the servers. My friend and I each got the Mr. West club sandwich, which was loaded with roasted turkey, BLT, onions and aioli topped with sourdough/multigrain bread and came with some potato chips and a pickle on the side. Wow the sandwich was quite messy but it tasted so good as well! There was probably some sort of canola or truffle oil on the bread too since the sandwich had a distinct cafe-restaurant kind of taste to it. The whole combination was fresh and was very filling. Could be a little towards the pricey side, though. Overall, love the food and also their coffee (from a previous unmentioned visit) and surprised I was able to eat in here! read more

If I could make the decor and restaurant my front room I would. I love the plant pots to the left, the pastry case in the middle, and the open seating to the right. Service is always exceptional and the food arrives quickly. I've tried almost everything on the menu and I love the avocado toast, shakshuka and egg, and smoked salmon. The huge cutting knives make me feel special and the cozy vibe reminds me of a Parisian bistro. You get lots of value for your money and I always have leftovers. As a coffee lover, I came here because it was right next to our hotel. My first visit was okay, the coffee wasn't hot enough, but it was decent enough to give them another try. The next day, I ordered again and specifically asked for it extra hot. Unfortunately, after spending another $12 on a single coffee, I was disappointed once more. The temperature was still off, and the oat milk lacked richness, something just tasted off. Sadly, this place feels overpriced for the quality of coffee they serve. The Mr West Cafe Bar location in downtown Seattle is absolutely gorgeous. From the plants to the warm wood tone, everything was very soothing and well designed; would love to come study or work there if it were a bit quieter. The staff are all very nice/helpful as well. There was a pretty big line out the door, but the food came out relatively quickly. We ordered the shakshuka and the Turkish breakfast. I loved both of these options. I really enjoyed the yogurt with the shakshuka which isn't something you normally see. I felt like it had a nice cooling effect with the acidity and spices of the chickpea/tomato stew base. The eggs were perfectly soft-boiled. The Turkish breakfast was also phenomenal with dill, spiced brown butter, and green onions. Absolutely loved the flavors. The only thing I would say is that we needed a bit more bread for the amount of yogurt on the plate. The Seattle fog was creamy and delicious with subtle spices, but the cardamom rose cold brew was truly the showstopper-- the perfect amount of sweetener, creaminess, and vibrant flavors of cardamom and rose. read more

Mr. West Cafe Bar has been on my list for a long time, so I was excited when a coworking session presented the opportunity to finally stop in. I've seen photos on social media and in person it was just as cute! Outside of selling cafe bites, coffee, and cocktails, they also have local wines, coffee beans, and clothing items making it a one-stop-shop for visitors/tourists too. We tried their pomegranate mimosas which were delicious (but I mean, can you really mess up a mimosa?) and I got the Mr. West Club, sans tomato. Be warned that this sandwich is thiccc. It was cut into thirds, and even then I was struggling to eat it because it was so tall. The bacon on it was a great touch and I loved the flavor of the aioli.
