    Hot Spicy Diced Chicken

Pork Intestine in Hot Pot - 9/10 Love the sourness of the soup, it's best with rice. Not very spicy, and I really like the vegetables in it. Black Mushroom with Chinese Greens - 7/10 Good amount of mushrooms with a great-tasting sauce. Diced Chicken - 6/10 The chicken is fire -- well-cooked with a nice level of spice overall.

Just wanted to update my review ad we were able to eat here again. Lately we've been trying to eat at the local mom and pop restaurants as I know many are hurting due to the economy. Tried several dishes like the salt and pepper pork chops, honey walnut shrimp and won run soup. We also love their general Tso chicken and their chicken chowmein made old school style (they use fermented vegetables in it). The only thing that was not that good was the soup, but all the other dishes were on point and quickly made. Please support small businesses as it will be sad if they all close.

    97. Beef with Szechuan Special Sauce, good, not to spicy. Because of all the bean sprouts, I had to carefully pick out beef and onion leeks.

Came here to have lunch with some friends and I remembered talking to someone about this place and once I got there, I vaguely remember having eaten here a very long time ago or possibly same location different owners. Anyway we decided to go with a L's carte orders as opposed to their lunch specials. We went with the sautéed vegetables, which I asked if it has bean sprouts because I can't eat bean sprouts and fortunately she said no, that it does not have bean sprouts. Next we ordered salt & pepper pork chops which they came out super salty. I said maybe the salt poured out from the container, then we got the shredded pork with dried bean curds snd that came out perfect. We also ordered the beef with Szechuan sauce and I guess it didn't register to the lady that I couldn't have bean sprouts because I didn't ask, but she did not make me aware that it had tons of bean sprouts in the dish. Last we got an order of green onion pancakes which were nice and crispy. When she finally came back to our table I brought it up to her and she just said oh I forgot. Small businesses like this just have no concern for customer service. Not like what I remembered from before. I feel I have many more Chinese places that offer what we ordered and I always have a back up place to go to.

Delicious Chinese foods and welcoming family-owned restaurant! One of the best i've had in awhile; been thinking about it all weekend!!

This place is tucked in a plaza and is a small cozy place. The food is authentic and homey but is a bit too oily for my taste. It the taste is also catered a bit more for American tastes buds so if you're looking for a Chinese place thats a bit more authentic than panda express or your usual takeout spot, this will be the perfect place. Inside they have around 8 small tables seating up to 4 and one to 6 people. They have a single table in the back for bigger parties so you might want to reserve in advance if you are coming with a lot of people. It seems to be run by a couple and feels like eating at your aunties house. Personally not my preference if going out to eat at a restaurant but a cozy place for home cooking if you live nearby.

Love their economic meal portions. With three dishes the price is around $40.00 , each additional dish is about $13.00. Not bad at all considering inflation and price increase nowadays. Would definitely come again when I am around the area!

Sometimes I miss home cooked Chinese meals and I haven't found a lot of options in the area. M's kitchen intrigued me because they have the onion roasted whole fish (idk the official name). I'm glad I finally got to try this place because it was very good & tasted authentic. The price is comparable to most Chinese/taiwanese food places imo especially with inflation and I think it's meant to be eaten family style (get a few entrees and share). Do note that it is a pretty small restaurant so it might be hard to accommodate big parties, but it's very homey. We got the onion sauce whole tilapia fish (good! Very tender and flavorful), salt & pepper fried pork (10/10 - fried very well), eggplant in garlic sauce (lightly spicy) & bean sauce fish filet (lightly spicy as well). I felt like I was at home, eating these dishes. I'm looking forward to come back and try other items whenever I'm missing a home cooked meal!

Very nice Money tree inside the restaurant nearby the cashier counter!!! feel-GOOD LUCK!!!

Ordered the food to-go! Got a free cool green tea drink while waiting for the food. Good price and the food are delicious. Will be back to visit!!!

If you're a fan of Northern Cafe on South Street, M's kitchen is the smaller, cheaper, more authentic, better tasting version. Its a small hole in the wall place with several tables hidden away on a quiet lot. There is something charming sitting in this humble little Mom n' Pop restaurant with a hot pot of tea and a Chinese news station rambling off in the background. The food is PHENOMENAL. So many items on the menu and somehow everything is incredible packed with complex flavor. If you only like hyper americanized Chinese food then this place is not for you. The Orange Peel porkchop is still one of our favorites. You take a bite and get burst of delicious orange flavor then an after punch of chinese spice. Bout as perfect as an Orange Peel dish can get. The Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) are just like the ones you'd get in Taiwan. Also another favorite dish! The sleeper hit hero that I think everyone misses out on is the HOT SPICY DICED CHICKEN. Its delicious FRIED chicken dusted in hot peppers. Think next level popcorn chicken. Everything is so dang good here I could rave on and on. Their chow mein is one of the best you'll have as well. But I encourage you to try anything on the menu because you can't go wrong. The "mom" of this Mom n' Pop will most likely be your server and she is always a joy to visit. So I'll say it again, DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE!

I first found M's Kitchen several years ago, pre COVID and I am so glad the restaurant is still around. The food is fantastic and you can tell it was made with love. We came in on a Saturday evening and there were only a few other people there. We were warmly greeted and seated and given some hot tea. We opted for the "economic meal" which let us choose three entrees (family style) and we added on an order of their house special fried rice. For the entrees we had the house special beef and what really set this apart for me from other places was the Thai basil in it that just upped the flavor. For the second entree we opted for the general Tso's chicken which was loaded with flavor and perfectly crispy. My favorite entree? The orange peel pork chops which were perfectly cooked, nice and crispy while the meat was super tender and the orange peel sauce was absolutely delicious and it was hard not to eat the whole plate myself! The house special fried rice was absolutely delicious and complimented everything else nicely and was probably some of the best fried rice I have had. For me this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area and even better is that it is not overpriced. It is a small place and the ambience is very relaxed there are a few tables for smaller groups and one big one for a larger group. The staff was super friendly and I cannot recommend this place enough.

Don't let the humble appearance of this place deter you from entering. Once you try the food, you will be back, guaranteed. We shared: 1) Beef with tomato-thought my Hawaiian born MIL would enjoy this. While it is quite different than the Hawaiian Chinese tomato beef, it was really delicious. Tender velveted beef with nice chunks of tomato. 2) Shrimp with scrambled egg-also very good. The sautéed shrimp, bean sprouts, green onion, & an extra minute longer on the eggs created a nice texture contrast. Also added a "cooked" flavor to the scrambled egg. 3) Ong choy with garlic- a restaurant stable done well here. 4) Salt & pepper pork chop- really good. Nice meaty pork chops. Crispy. We didn't end up with mostly bone piece as I've had at another Chinese restaurant up the street( rhymes with Slappy Tee). We actually arrived too late for the lunch special. However, the chef hadn't left for his 1-1/2 hr afternoon break. So we were able to have lunch. The waitress was SOOO nice. Very helpful, friendly & also shared dishes we should try next time. Because we KNOW there will be a next time. On a side note, the old time Chinese chefs who cook truly Chinese dishes are a dying breed. Literally. She shared younger cooks want to come in and change/refresh the menu items. Yes, I get it. However, there are plenty of fusion this, nouveau that. What about really good truly Chinese food places? The dive with really good food that's been around forever. We can't let this die. How about a younger enthusiastic chef that wants to learn the truly old Chinese recipes? Like I said, we can't let this die. THAT would be ashame...

Shredded Pork with Dried Bean Curd

Authentic Northern style Chinese restaurant in Artesia. It's a small humble hole in the wall. When my wife and I walked in, we saw two ladies packing a large bulk order of boxed meals that occupied a few tables. One of them greeted us immediately with a smile and showed us to our table. They don't periodically check in on you, but it's super easily to flag them down if you need anything and they're very friendly. As for the food, we ordered four dishes: Hot Spicy Diced Chicken: 8/10 My personal favorite of the 4 dishes. It's your typical Northern style popcorn chicken loaded with spices and peppers. It's more of a numbing spice than an intense heat. Good flavor and crispiness. Braised String Beans: 7/10 At first I thought this was too plain. But the saltiness from the chicken really amplified the garlic flavor from the string beans and I was glad this wasn't too salty. My wife said it was perfect for her even without the chicken. Shredded Pork with Bean Curd: N/A We enjoyed the shredded tofu and flavor. Also, we like this dish from a place called Cindy's Kitchen near Hacienda Heights. The shredded pork here was a bit too salty and not tender enough for us. Not sure if they velveted the pork, which is a common Chinese cooking technique to get stir fry meat to be really tender. So we felt mixed about this. Squid with Black Bean Sauce: 3/10 The flavor itself was okay. We normally like black bean sauce dishes like clams or squid. The squid was overcooked and rubbery unfortunately, so we didn't like it. In summary, this is one of the few authentic Chinese places in the area, the servers are friendly, and the food is good if you order the right dishes. My wife and I never really crave Americanized Chinese food, so we're grateful this kind of place is open.

We got the "family deal" which was $18.50 per person and that included 1 entree each, soup, 1 egg roll, 2 fried shrimp and fried rice. We also added an order of chow mein. It was a LOT of food. We had a ton of leftovers. It'll probably get us another 1-2 meals each! I thought that was a great deal. My mom enjoyed it a lot (which was the goal and what mattered!). My husband and daughter enjoyed it as well. I'm not super into Chinese food but thought it was fine. (I actually prefer leftover cold Chinese food). One thing that stood out and I really liked was that they serve a plate of crunchy chow mein noodles to start. I haven't seen that in quite some time. We like dipping them in sweet and sour sauce; although I didn't care that much for theirs, it was very runny, I like a thicker consistency.

I lunched with a friend and shared two things: -moo shu chicken ($13.95) -salt & pepper tofu ($13.95) I've never had moo shu anything before and I am now a moo shu fan 4ever. Apparently the version here come pre-wrapped, but I didn't mind since I was a first timer. The wrapper functions a lot like a tortilla, but much more delicate. I like the mixture of chicken, wood ear mushrooms and cabbage maybe? Textually it's crunchy and I like that in the soft wrapper. The salt & pepper tofu is sautéed with jalapeños which give it a nice kick. It's not your classic version of the this dish because the tofu is cubed into bite sized pieces and tastes a little more peanut-y than salt and pepper-y, but I didn't mind it. It was great over white rice. L V is perfect for a quick Chinese fix. Lunch specials are just a bonus.

I absolutely loved the crispy bottom layer because it added such a satisfying crunch to every bite. The inside stayed really juicy and flavorful with a good balance of pork, shrimp, and chives. The Juicy Pork Dumplings had soup inside, which was rich and savory. I've had soup dumplings before where the wrapper breaks apart too easily, but these held together nicely while still staying soft and delicate. The Wonton in Spicy Sauce was my personal favorite from the entire meal. The spicy sauce flavor was savory with a little sweetness. I'm typically not good with spice, so this is at a spice level that should be very manageable for everyone. I absolutely loved the spicy sauce, so I started putting it on everything. Definitely put the sauce on the chicken fried rice! The Chicken Fried Rice was a great dish to pair with everything else that we ordered. With several orders of entrees, a solid rice dish is a must order for any Chinese meal. The rice had a nice savory flavor that I enjoyed, and there was a generous amount of chicken mixed throughout the dish. I even asked the waitress if they do anything special with the fried rice because it tasted better than many other restaurants. It felt comforting and balanced compared to some of the heavier dishes. The Dry Fried String Beans were cooked perfectly with a slight crispness while still being tender. The garlic and seasoning gave them so much flavor that it honestly didn't even feel like I was eating vegetables. I do have to note that these were very much on the salty side, so if you don't like foods that are too salty, I would choose a different dish. The Orange Chicken was really crispy and juicy, which I appreciated because soggy orange chicken is always disappointing to me. The sauce had a nice citrus flavor while still keeping that classic sweet savory taste. The Spring Rolls were simple with vegetable filling on the inside with a crispy outside. I would try a different appetizer next time. The Kung Pao Shrimp was packed with flavor and had a really satisfying combination of textures. The shrimp were tender, and the peanuts added a great crunch to the dish. I thought the sauce had a really nice balance of spice and savoriness without becoming overwhelming. Another dish I really enjoyed was the Beef Roll Pancake. The pancake itself was nice and chewy throughout each bite. The sliced beef with green onions and sauce all wrapped together made every bite really flavorful and satisfying. For drinks, I ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea with Boba. I really liked that the jasmine tea flavor was noticeable instead of being overly sweet like some milk teas can be. The boba had a soft chewy texture, and the drink itself paired perfectly with the spicy and savory dishes from the meal. Staff: All of the staff members were quick and friendly Ambiance: Indoor seating only. A good amount of parking in the parking lot that is shared with other shops in the plaza.

Top Yelp highlighted items are Chicken Feet, Shrimp Har Gow, Steamed Rice Noodle Roll w/ Shrimp, and Siu Mai. Special dishes are available to order after 11 AM and the dinner menu is served from 5 PM to 9 PM. *** Recommended dim sum items: Pan Fried Turnip w/ Sausage Rice Cake ($6.50), Spareribs w/ Black Bean Sauce ($6.50), Chicken Feet w/ Black Bean Sauce ($6.50), Hong Kong Style Egg Waffle ($6.50) Mediocre dim sum items: Steamed Rice Noodle Roll w/ Shrimp ($8.50), Shrimp Har Gow ($7.50), Pork & Shrimp Shiu Mai ($7.50) Beef Chow Fun w/ Soy Sauce (dry style - $18.95): Passable, but not super impressed. *** Overall I still like the dim sum at Lunasia much better than dim sum from Sam Woo Cafe, but Pan Fried Turnip w/ Sausage Rice Cake and Spareribs w/ Black Bean Sauce really stood out so the overall experience averages out to a 4-star for dim sum. Plus for not having to wait for a table.
