I walked amongst the graves this afternoon and found a headstone from the Spanish American war circa 1898 no doubt he fought alongside theater Roosevelt and the Roughriders against Spain to free Cuba. " hence Cuba's favorite drink the Cuba libre" but I digress. Again this church is loaded in thick history and is worth a visit "maybe even A church service, wink wink" if you are in the area.

I visited this church before but decided to visit for Watch Night service. There were 2 services…read more(8p and 10:30p). I decided to go to the 8p service so that I could be home before midnight. (I get sleepy early lol). This church has 3 locations. However, Watch Night was at the McDonough location. There is plenty of parking at this location and there were parking attendants and police to help direct which was very much appreciated. Parking was a breeze. I arrived early so that I could get a great seat and not have to be seated in overflow. Members passed out NYE hats and blowers. The praise service was phenomenal and the message from the bishop was amazing. It was a very warm welcome felt from the members. I would definitely return.

We returned from living in Asia back in 2020 and visited many churches in this area looking for a…read morechurch home. We happened to be at Crossroads for the month they celebrated their 30th anniversary. I loved that the church didn't spend much time patting themselves on the back, but gave all thanks to the Lord for what He had done and for the hundreds who had come to know the Lord over the years. The anniversary celebration focus was looking to the future. Pastor Ken is a great preacher who teaches through the books of the Bible. He says that we need to be having such an impact in our community that if we were gone...the community would know it. From Crib Babies to the high school youth, the kids just love being here. Fantastic youth pastors, counselors, volunteers, youth sports, music ministry and missionary church builders in other countries, just to name a few. So many places to plug in. I volunteer at our food pantry working with 100 different church volunteers over the 4 years while meeting and serving some of the sweetest thankful clients from our county needing food. As you can imagine...after church shopping 5 years ago, we have made this our home church and have never looked back...only forward. We have also made many fun precious friends along the way!
