What a unique opportunity we were given this weekend while out with friends. While out in Tonopah…read moreriding our side by sides with a group friends we came across a large building surrounded by a fence. Intrigued and seeing the gate open we decided to take a chance and pull in to get a better look. We were surprised to be greeted by a nun. She was so very kind and not only did she welcome us she let us know a bit about the location. This is a Catholic Monastery. The people who serve here analogy live here. There is public mass, but they recommend you check their website to days and time. The outside is beautiful and Adorned with stained glass. To our surprise she offered to let us go inside and even take pictures. We were asked to not speak as others were praying and in a journey of their own. When she realized non of us are catholic that did not matter and you could just see the love and joy on her face welcoming us to visit and enjoy God. They have outside covered picnic tables we were advised we could use if respectful and cleaned up after ourselves. If the gate is open you may walk the grounds.
