A few weeks back me and my family was in the nearby area and my second born daughter was taking some pride in doing some mural hunting and she spotted this piece and few others in this 3 block radius that I've never noticed before or are brand new. This is a massive and beautiful piece. We believe in you prepare to believe in yourself is a strong Moto and the hands breaking the chains is beautiful symbolism. Overall I am a sucker for murals or public art with positive messages for the community. It's much needed in these rough times. This one delivers that and still sticks out as vibrant and creative.

Bright, energetic, colorful and cartoon-y. Great for a mural to draw you in. And the subject matter is appropriate for it's location and the business it is supporting.

I especially enjoy the butterfly and blue branches on the side of the building! If you're in the Shelby Park area, be sure to check it out!

Me and my friend and fellow yelper Jeremy J was spending a Saturday int he Shelby park and Nulu neighborhood to check out a few places and see some public art when we spotted this location. We were headed to red top for a hot dog and to ply ping pong when we noticed this. Within easy walking distance of this mural is a hour 7-10 other murals so if you are a fan of public art or murals then this is a great starting point. Overall cool piece of work that fits in nicely with the building theme and other pieces of art work in the neighborhood.

Me and my friend and fellow yelper Jeremy J last Saturday was checking out new places and public art in the Shelby park and Nulu neighborhoods and this piece was on our radar. Literally right next to this mural is another mural of the legendary Albert Einstein. Which is pretty cool. This whole neighborhood block is chock full of public art and murals. So if you are a fan I highly recommend this neighborhood.

I've always felt like it *should* look like something when you get further away, materialize into a clearer picture, but I never see it. No matter...it is still lovely and bright and inviting. The colors are pretty and the promise of an emerging blooming bouquet on the wall catches your attention and draws you in. Worth visiting along with the other street art on this strip of Logan!

Thai is one of my favorite public art pieces in the Nulu area I've seen. Very creative and colorful that's a fun photo op for all ages. Per the tag on the all it was created by an artist named Liz richter. While I'm not familiar with local artist it does appear she is talented as this is a very nice piece of work.

The beer at Royal's was ice cold and served in chilled mugs. We enjoyed the courtyard area and had to got our picture at the mural.

Created by the art cartel (who also did the nearby joe ley antiques building art) for the establishment this has become a popular photo spot for locals and tourists. Very cool art and fits in as it is on the side of a chicken establishment. Nulu a nice area to find good dining, quirky shopping and to find obscure public art such as this. Worth taking a stroll down east market street and taking a look. It's rather large so it will be hard to miss this particular one.

This mural is one of many nice and interesting murals in the city of Louisville. You can actually…read moremake a day of just visiting murals as many of them are in the same general area. I made my own free outdoor art gallery. Yes, I really do have a life. This mural is the creation of Liz Richter, who has a few other murals on display around the city. It is located in the Smoketown section of the city. It was part of the 2019 Mural Festival. The purpose or meaning of the mural will probably go unnoticed by the average viewer. I had to do a little digging to find it. It is supposed to represent the neighborhood's diversity and ability to take care of itself. A crazy quilt is not like a traditional quilt where it is made of anything you can find, non traditional materials. Some of the patterns from the quilt are from the civil war era. Richter put a lot of thought when coming up with the idea. The artist uses blue skin tones in a lot of her work. Well, atleast the two that I saw that day. I really liked the blue though and what I really liked was how she was able to incorporate a powertie that was coming out of the wall into the mural. If you look closely in the pictures, you will be able to see it. I do not like that it is in a cramed space though. A neighboring house is blocking it from using most of the wall that it is on. She was still able to make it work though. There is lots of free street parking available to for you to get out and check out the mural. However, it is not a very long stop and you probably could accomplish what you want to in the comfort of your vehicle. So, as I have mentioned, it is best to plan out stops at many of the other wonderful murals that are within a mile or two and make a day of it.

As a Yelper, of course I had to stop and take photos and write a review. But what was this building? To my surprise, it was a water pump station! It is the Metro Sewer District's 4th Street Pump Station, and in 2021, the eyesore of a pump station was transformed by artist Whitney Olsen with her mural "Waterfall". What a cool idea! Very vibrant and bright abstract public art mural that sits in the bourbon district of downtown…read moreLousiville Kentucky. This complete building wrapped mural is the metropolitan sewer dump (msd) pump for the downtown 4th street area. It has kinda sat there in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of downtown Lousiville for years. Until artist Whitney Olsen created this beautiful mural in July of 2021 and called it "waterfall". The artist does a great job and uses all kinds of soothing and vibrant colors. Really makes what was just some random looking pump station stick out and noticeable. Overall a great addition to the ever growing public art of not only the downtown Bourbon district of the city but the entire city as a whole. Easy to find. Anyone local has been downtown for an event and stuck in traffic in theirs area. So it provides a pretty traffic view at minimum.
